My Nan started living at Cherry Lodge in August 2021. We were concerned at first due to seeing previous negative reviews. However the care home has been brilliant, the place is always clean and the staff are all friendly.
It has been a perfect place for her final years and they offer better 24-hour
care than what we as a family could provide given her medical needs.

My uncle was sent into hospital with an ongoing complaint and passed away in hospital. The home was notified. We received no further contact from any of the staff, only from the new manager advising that my uncle had some money in the office. We donated to the home fund. We were disappointed to think
that life seems a little shallow to the staff. There were 2 carers that were very informative. But the rest, I would recommend they need further training in medication and cleanliness. I am sorry for this complaint but feel there could be much improvement.

After visiting a number of care homes for our dad we decided on Cherry Lodge Care Home as this was the most suitable for his needs. He has now been there for over a month and is well-settled in his new home. He has a lovely room and he loves the food and the company of the other residents and staff.
The home is kept spotless and all of the staff are very friendly and have been exceptionally helpful and caring towards Dad since he arrived. We are very pleased that we chose Cherry Lodge and would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone else.

My wife and I had to place a very close friend at Cherry Lodge Care Home from September 2021 to January 2022. We were worried about any care home as you would when you are putting frail, elderly people in the care of others. We need not have worried as Cherry Lodge kept very good care of our friend
and went over and above the care that was promised. We have nothing but praise for all the staff as they are certainly coping under extreme pressures from every side. Covid has hit all parts of our lives over the last two years but care homes and the NHS has had the main pressure. The staff have worked so hard here and, with so many problems going on around them, have done an amazing job. We would like to thank them all for the wonderful care they gave and the help they gave us with visiting and communication and information. A special thanks to the deputy manager and senior care assistant who went over and above the call of duty.

Clearly Cherry Lodge has had issues in the past. However, it is now managed by certain individuals and their team who have been working very hard to change the pre-conceptions people have. It will take time to get to where they want to be but they have already made huge strides forward.

The building

is dated but rooms are clean and bright and the furniture is of good quality. At no time was there ever any lingering odours associated with care homes.

Staff are all very caring and attentive to the residents' needs. In particular, one lovely staff member who goes above and beyond her normal duties.

My mother was resident for four weeks for assessment, if the travelling distance had not been an issue I would have been happy for my mother to have remained at Cherry Lodge on a full-time basis.

Finally, thank you to the managers and all the team for the care you showed my mother and I hope that you are able to achieve everything you wish to accomplish for Cherry Lodge.
