Anchor’s Maple Dene, in Moseley, supports up to 40 older people to live a comfortable lifestyle and provides dementia care and it is welcoming new residents for care. Located to the south of Birmingham, it benefits from a quiet residential location.

The home strives to deliver a range of residential care services including long-term care for those who can no longer look after themselves.

The care team get to know customers and work with them to organise stimulating activities which match individual and group interests, both in the care home as well as in the local community. Each residents' individual needs are regularly assessed to ensure their care plans meet their lifestyle requirements.

Fresh meals are cooked from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, and where possible, by a highly trained Chef Manager and kitchen staff.

Anchor is England’s largest provider of housing and care for those over 55 years of age and has more than 60 years of experience as a not-for-profit provider of services to older people.

Maple Dene provides a warm and friendly home for my mum and other residents. The staff appear to be settled and to be very welcoming of visitors. They know the residents well and interact with them in a loving caring way. Management is good and staff including the managers are always aware and willing
to discuss any issues that arise.

First class care for my mother, who since she was first admitted has improved her general health and wellbeing.
Whilst it was frustrating with the COVID visiting restrictions, it was understandable.
Staff have always been very approachable and helpful with mom's interests always first.

Very happy with the care received. Staff are always helpful and genuinely know mum's needs. Communication is very good. The pandemic meant we could not fully assess the home before mum moved in. I am pleased to say that we have no regrets.

My father has been a resident of Maple Dene for 18 months, so our whole experience has been during the pandemic. The first 6 months were incredibly tough as care homes had to follow very strict rules on visits. We got through it with the help of the staff and life is now immeasurably better. During
this time all the staff in Maple Dene took exceptional care of my father and I am amazed at the love and support they provide every day. He looks better, is more active and is encouraged to join in activities. It is an agonising decision to move your relative into a care home, but I cannot think of a better place than Maple Dene.

Staff cared for my mum through thick and thin over a number of years. They were able to cope with her mood swings and changing needs as she became more frail. Ultimately, they supported her through a peaceful and loving end of life period and proved again what a great team they are. I highly recommend
the home.

Maple Dene is, in my opinion, one of the best, if not the best which is why we chose this home when our elderly auntie needed residential care.
Care was delivered professionally, and in a kind manner by all the carers we came across. It was particularly hard during covid as we couldn't visit, but we
knew she was in the right place, and the manager and her staff kept relatives up to date, firstly facilitating WhatsApp phone calls then visiting as soon as able to, within strict covid requirements.
Sadly, Auntie had a fall 6 weeks ago through no fault of Maple Dene and needs more specialist care than residential, so we have had to move her to a nursing home. We will miss everyone, and thank them for their love and care during the time she was there.

Staff at Maple Dene have done a fantastic job in getting Mum back on her feet following her two week stay in hospital due to Coronavirus. Personal care and physio and lots of patience. Thank you. Looking forward to visiting once lockdown is lifted.

Mummy has lived at Maple Dene for 3 1/2 years. It became a very happy place for her to be after the trauma of having to leave her family home. The staff is lovely and caring. They took into consideration her foibles and were patient with her in spite of her difficulties. There were love and affection
shown between her and them and she often gave and received hugs. I am so grateful she was here.

My mother was a resident at Maple Dene for 5 years, moving to the area to be closer to family following the death of my father. It was her decision and she quickly settled finding the staff warm, friendly and very supportive. In the final month of her life, Mam told me how she could not be better cared
for, that's testimony to a wonderful team.

I visited my aunt today, I don’t visit often as it’s a long journey but whenever I do turn up, all the staff couldn’t be kinder, more helpful or welcoming.
Everywhere is clean and attractively decorated and the lunch looked delicious. Having visited a number of similar establishments, I know this takes
hard work to achieve so well done!
My aunt has nothing but praise for her home, carers and food. She is treated with respect and it is great to see that she is so well cared for and comfortable.

Mum was immediately pleased with her accommodation and after just a few weeks, was saying how settled she felt. Mum talks about the kindness and friendliness of the staff, the new friends she has made, the activities on offer and her increased feeling of well-being because she has fewer responsibilities
and feels safe and secure.
As I live overseas, it’s reassuring to know that Mum feels this way. The staff deliver care and support with understanding, kindness and professionalism. Communication with the staff is excellent and I feel I’m kept informed - being surprised by an email containing a photo or video of Mum is a joy.
A decision to move from independent living to residential care is rarely easy. The manager and her experienced team help manage the transition with charm and kindness.

If you are looking for a care home for someone that you love, you could not do better than Maple Dene. My friend was a resident for nine years and throughout that time she had the best care we could have wished for. She particularly enjoyed the visits from young children and the opportunity to be involved
in residents meetings, using her well-honed organisational skills to the full! Due to her dementia, she became increasingly confused but the standard of care and compassion remained exemplary to the very end.
I know that she would have wanted to express her gratitude to all the staff, everyone went beyond what could be expected and afforded her the opportunity to live with dignity and grace.
Thank you seems rather inadequate - I have already tried to book my place!

Auntie became a resident of Maple Dene at the beginning of this month, following a fall at home. I have nothing but thanks and praise for the way she has been accepted into the home and looked after. The Manager and all staff I and my wife have spoken to have been attentive and interested in Auntie,
suggesting ways she might settle in best. Bringing her own furniture has been encouraged, with no restriction placed on pictures put up on the walls of her flat. When we said that her bed was not worth bringing however, they provided one at no extra cost. When Auntie was confused at night during the first few nights, staff spoke to us about it, reassured us that this often happens and generally helped her to settle. The home is spotlessly clean, yet still maintains a homely atmosphere. Activities are arranged for the residents most days, and as February draws to a close we see a much more contented Auntie than we have seen in many months.
