My mother seems settled and the staff are available for any questions we ask. She had a fall in the home and broke her hip, which necessitated a spell in hospital. The transition from hospital to the care home was handled in a caring, professional manner. The staff made sure all the necessary equipment
and requirements were catered for. Family and friends occasions happen frequently, which helps with creating a community feel.

The home is very clean and tidy and the staff are welcoming when visiting. They seem willing to discuss any problems or needs or concerns. The staff seem to treat the residents with care, compassion and dignity. The residents rooms are kept very clean and tidy, with clothes and personal belongings,
well looked after. Personal care and needs are good, including hair/chiropody etc. Activities are arranged to benefit the staff and residents, by creating a togetherness feeling, even when residents just sit and watch, Lounges and meals allow residents to mingle with safety and security. Well catered for.

My father has been in this care home for 3 years. The care and understanding of his dementia is first class. Personal care is amazing, dad had never had a shower in his life before arriving here but the staff were amazing with him and at 89 years old, they won him over. Unfortunately, my father passed
away 5 days ago. I have received the utmost care and support from the home and would recommend Victoria Manor to any family who feels a family member needs a residential care home.

During lockdown, there have been some challenging moments for the staff and our family. We have considered ourselves to be very lucky that we could still see our mum even though mostly through the window. Mum has been really poorly and the care she has received has been fabulous thanks to the staff.
We now see Mum in her own room which has been beneficial in aiding her recovery. Thank god for the staff here, they should be rewarded.

After 6 months of COVID19 ‘lockdown,’ I was able to visit my parent at Victoria Manor this week. The visit was ‘socially-distanced’ (they were inside, I was outside), but was very well-managed and all staff were very attentive yet discreet.
The property was spotless when I arrived and staff members
I interacted with were firm but humane when explaining and enforcing the protective policies established to maintain the safety of the residents and staff.
This was the first time I had seen my parent in 6 months, and I was delighted to see that they were healthy and happy - very well cared-for and clearly had been encouraged to be a productive and contributing member of the Victoria Manor community.
I am happy and comforted that my parent is being cared for at Victoria Manor with expertise and compassion.

My mum seems to be ok and happy in the home, even though this is an extremely difficult time for both my mum and me especially not being able to visit her this is very hard, and I don't know yet when I will be able to see her again. The home sends me photos of mum which is nice but it's not the same
as seeing her. I hope they are keeping them busy as I would like to know more on a day-to-day basis what they do with the residents to keep their mind and bodies active. Do they go outside for fresh air? What do they do with them as they are in isolation in the rooms? More information/updates on the day-to-day activities would be useful to know, as with dementia you have to keep the mind as active as possible. I would hate to think of her sitting in her room for hours and not doing anything. So more communication would be helpful to put my mind at ease from the home to myself.

The home is lovely. The staff are always very pleasant and helpful. Mum always seems very contented and happy. Even when Mum has been distressed and agitated they have always treated her with care, talking to her and helping her. The home is always clean and tidy, always smells nice. Mum's room is always

We have always been impressed ny the competent care that all the staff at Victoria Manor always give.
One Sunday I arrived to find fire engines had just arrived because water had set off the alarm, but the staff has got all residents to the safe zone and were keeping them calm. I collected my mother
to take her to church, the staff got her ready very rapidly. By the time we returned, the alarm company and plumber were finishing work and the atmosphere in the home was back to normal. Such professionalism!

Visit every week. Very rare to find enough staff to adequately cater for residents. 28/9/19 one staff, 30/9 no drinks for residents in the lounge at 10.30 am. My Dad asked me to get him a drink. I cut my Mum and Dad's nails, they can be left long and jagged. Doesn't appear to be much 'activities' going
on. Don't appear to be able to retain activity coordinators. No recent trips out since the bus has gone.

I have put a tick in excellent for staff as I believe they really do all they can in their workday, they are very caring and hardworking, my only concern is they on many occasions are so busy that there's no one in the lounge.

My mother was a resident at Victoria Manor from late June 2018 through to August 2019 and she was treated with great respect at all times by the staff. She had very specific demands and ideas about what she expected from the home and the staff, in my opinion, did their utmost to meet her needs and keep
her as happy as they could. I would have no hesitation in recommending Victoria Manor at all.

Victoria Manor shows great care and attention to my brother's needs as he has deteriorated during the three and a half years he has been a resident and I thank them for that.
At times throughout this deterioration, his care needs have changed and he is not always easy to manage.

Job Title: Home Manager

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Kind care is showing that you do care and wearing your heart on your sleeve.”


Having worked in care since she was 17 years old, Tina Booton, has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and support to elderly people, to enrich their lives.


Tina specialises in dementia care and has worked with Dementia Care Matters and the Alzheimer's Society. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Tina closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Victoria Manor.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Tina remarked:
“Trying to make a difference for the better, for the people and the home.”


Outside of work, Tina enjoys spending her time as a brownie leader and has run the unit for 25 years now.
