While dad was here all be it only a short time due to him going into hospital I/we found all the staff to be kind nothing was too much of an issue or a problem. Dad's care was very good he was always clean and well fed.
The house was always warm and clean.

My wife entered care with you in October 2016. To date, all is well and she is very happy. My only concern would be that at times she dresses a little scruffy, as a proud woman this would upset her. My suggestion would be to ensure all soiled clothing is removed from her room ASAP, a minor point I know
but ti would improve her self-esteem.

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. We really value the feedback provided by those who use our services.
When Residents are very independent and still able to choose their own daily outfits which in most cases is their favourite it is difficult to launder them in a short turnaround time. We do try different approaches dependent on the Resident such as laundering on an evening when they are in their night time attire and always strive to ensure all Residents are smart and clean.
The Home Manager operates an open door policy, please feel free to call in and discuss any concerns.

Regarding Gala Night October 2016 -
What a wonderful evening, everyone was happy and relaxed. It was a pleasure to spend social time with the management and staff. My relative really enjoyed the evening, as did I.

We were very concerned about moving my mother in law from her care home, but with the wonderful support of the manager, the transfer went very well. We have found the staff extremely friendly and very kind. Good welcome on arrival at the home. My mother in law was settled very well and seems happier
than when she was in her last home. It has only been a short time but we are very happy with everything so far. Thank you.

I can't fault this Home. The care my Mum receives is second to none. I would highly reccommend this home.
The home's staff are wonderful and they really look after Mum going out of their way to ensure she is happy. Mum goes to over 60's Zumba every week on the minibus and is much happier at the home.

I am very happy with the quality of care and understanding shown at Victoria Manor.
Nothing is too much trouble and any queries or concerns are dealt with promptly.
The manager is very approachable as are the staff. There is an activity and outing plan which gives such a lot of happy stimulation in
a happy and safe environment.

Myself, brothers and sisters always said to Mum we would never put her in a Home but unfortunately her galloping Vascular Dementia had other ideas. My sister and I trailed round several homes *on spec* but on arrival at Victoria Manor we were greeted warmly, shown around the Home, given every courtesy
and came away armed with information. We knew as soon as we entered the building that this was the place for our beloved Mum. The place was immaculate, there were no lingering smells and the staff were oh so welcoming. The residents looked well cared for and happy and the food choices menu, everything is cooked fresh in the Home's own kitchen, looked and tasted delicious and nourishing.
The day Mum was admitted was a difficult one for us all but the Staff and Management made the transition as comfortable as possible. We cannot fault the Home in any way. It has become a Home from Home for us all and kindness and friendliness are always in abundance. Thank you Victoria Manor.

My mother has only been a resident for a short while. We looked at three homes in the group and this was our favourite, it smelled so clean and looked the cleanest. Early concerns, the call bell was in the wrong place leaving a trailing wire, this was dealt with and a rubber edge placed over it, ideally
there should be two points in each room. The staff are very kind and have taken the trouble to get to know mum, they are approachable and have answered all our questions/concerns.

Usually visit once per week. Care staff (as always) courteous, welcoming and up to date on mum's current state. She'd had a lie in and missed breakfast but was tucking into a mid morning snack. Staff immediately available to help with toilet requirements. I found her to be calm and settled and well
cared for.

Job Title: Home Manager

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“Kind care is showing that you do care and wearing your heart on your sleeve.”


Having worked in care since she was 17 years old, Tina Booton, has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and support to elderly people, to enrich their lives.


Tina specialises in dementia care and has worked with Dementia Care Matters and the Alzheimer's Society. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Tina closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Victoria Manor.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Tina remarked:
“Trying to make a difference for the better, for the people and the home.”


Outside of work, Tina enjoys spending her time as a brownie leader and has run the unit for 25 years now.
