I must say when I started to look for respite care for my husband, I truly lost hope of finding one that would meet my expectations. I visited Castle View Residential Care Home And I met two staff members in particular and the rest of the team wonderful, polite, respectful and professional individuals.
The environment was very decent, fresh and clean. And the residents were well taken care and seemed happy. My husband speaks highly of the care he received and how lovely the staff have been and makes him feel comfortable and treated him well. Our children and grandchildren visit and were exceedingly happy with everything. I would definitely take my husband back for respite care. And if he needs full time care, I would not hesitate either. Keep up the good work, you have a wonderful care service and a great supportive staff team. Thanks.

My Aunt came to live at Castleview in January 2023.
I visited her regularly and always found the staff to be very welcoming. Great care was taken to maintain her appearance.
The home has a good car park. Is easy to visit with a wheelchair user. Was able to sit in a separate lounge to talk. This
was appreciated as it made it feel so much more like visiting in her own home and not a bedroom.
We liked the fact it was a small home.

Friendly, helpful manager and staff. Lots of interaction with the staff, who spent quality time with my relative. Very welcoming, with informative updates on daily events. My auntie was very happy here, I feel she is very well looked after.

My dad has been a resident at Castleview for over two years, after a terrible fall at home, he has dementia and was not coping at home as he was living alone and was very vulnerable. Since being at Castleview he has flourished, he is so much happier in himself, the staff are wonderful, most of them
have not changed in all the time he has been there, so he has continuity of care by people he has grown to know well and trust. This is also due to the strong leadership at the home, delivered by the manager who is not only the owner, but also a very experienced nurse, so she has the passion and insight to address the individual care needs of the residents. My dad loves the food, freshly, home cooked on the premises each meal time and theres lots of it which he loves. I thank the care manager and her whole team for giving us the peace of mind for keeping dad so safe and making him so happy.

My mother-in-law has been a resident here for just over a year. She has always received exemplary personalized care. The staff are all lovely, caring, supportive & friendly. Nothing is too much trouble.
The home is always clean, warm and fresh smelling.
The meals always look and smell good and the
residents receive lots of nice snacks/nibbles and drinks throughout the day/evening.
The manager is always friendly, and supportive and keeps us well informed of any changes in mother's condition. She is very receptive/responsive to any queries or concerns you may have.
I'd happily recommend the home to anyone who'd appreciate the more personal touch that comes with a smaller establishment.

I'm so grateful to the staff at Castleview for the way they cared for my mother. Every member of staff was kind, caring and respectful towards mom and they worked hard to ensure she was comfortable at all times. This is a small care home with a friendly, family atmosphere. Expertly run regarding safeguarding
and health care of residents. Extremely good value too. Highly recommended.

This care home has excellent standards of care, the carers are very professional at all times. Safeguarding is excellent as the bedrooms are laid out with minimum risk to the service users. Confidentiality is also of a high standard as the senior will always ask me into the office to discuss moms needs.
The food choice for residents is excellent and freshly cooked. All the residents appear happy and all have a smile on their face. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, residents aren't left in the lounge unattended as the carers are constantly popping into the room to check on residents. This care home should win an award for their high standards of care, as an ex social-worker, this is by far the best I have seen. I would also like to add that the care staff engage regularly with activities for the residents. I truly commend your standards of care thank you so much for your compassion towards our family well done

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.512)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.512) out of 10 for Castleview Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.912 for Castleview Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 68 Ratings = 4.912

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Castleview Residential Care Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 13 registered maximum number of service users is 2.6, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
