I cannot praise the team at Holly Lodge too much.


They cared for my mother for over two years and were a wonder in how much they genuinely cared for her and for us as a family.


I have come to learn that the most important factor when selecting a home for your family is the staff working there.

This is where Hilly Lodge rise above others.

I recommend Holly Lodge Residential Care Home without reservation. From the leadership throughout all staff there is a positive and caring attitude to the wellbeing of residents. For three years our aunt, who is in her 100th year, has received sympathetic personalised care in a safe and well-managed
home. At each visit, my siblings and I have come away with the feeling that our aunt is in good hands. We have been impressed with the kindness and thoughtfulness of those individual members of staff we have met and their willingness to take extra steps to meet our aunt's wishes and needs.

My dad was at Holly Lodge for 3 years and the care he received was outstanding. Each and every member of staff, including those in the kitchen and the cleaner, genuinely cared. They looked after Dad as if he were their own and often went over and above to make him feel happy and at home. I always knew
he was safe and well cared for and I would be contacted immediately if any issues arose. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to everyone. A super home.

My aunt spent almost two years at Holly Lodge after she was no longer able to manage on her own at home. She was already familiar with the home as her sister (my mother) had been a resident there a few years earlier. All the staff were marvellous. They are certainly professional and knowledgeable but,
more than that, they are very caring and see each resident as part of a family. We will always be grateful for the care, respect and love my aunt received.

As soon as I walked into Holly Lodge Residential Care Home for Elderly I knew that it would be the right care home for Mum. Small and very homely. Mum spent the last 3 years of her life there and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff without exception are caring and loving, the home is always
full of laughter and joy. I’ve never seen Mum smiling and laughing as much as in the last few years. Mum was living in Holly Lodge during Covid and I felt the restrictions quickly put in place kept every resident safe in what was a very difficult time especially for the staff. I feel that Holly Lodge is like one big family and to all the staff I’d like to say a massive thank you for looking after and loving my mum.

I unreservedly recommend Holly Lodge where Mum lived for over four years. The care she received was excellent, the staff are superb and the registered Manager and the Deputy manager are exceptional.
Mum had vascular dementia and her gradual deterioration was managed so well and she was well supported
whilst encouraged to do as much as she was able to throughout. There is much love in this home. Staff are without exception kind and thoughtful and the small scale of the home with excellent leadership means that personalised care, attention to detail and great communication are the norm.
The weekly cost is modest compared to newer designer type care homes but the quality of care in our experience was outstanding. Great care is not of course about bricks and mortar and fancy furnishings but about kind, caring dedicated staff. The almost total lack of staff turnover at Holly Lodge provides a strong family feel with stability, this is so unusual in care home settings.

Words cannot express how grateful I am to this lovely home and the staff who cared for my mum. My one regret is that we could not benefit (because of the Coronavirus crisis) from the true home which had to apply such rigid restrictions to our visits. Nevertheless, we knew that Mum felt safe and cared
for - in fact for the most part she thought she was in a hotel! Well done everyone.

Our mom spent just over 2 years at Holly Lodge. It was an extremely difficult decision to place her in care but she had become too unsafe to remain at home. From her admission to her passing, the staff provided her with care and respect and offered reassurance to her family including ongoing feedback
and information. Mom was treated as part of a family and not just a resident. Our heartfelt thanks goes to all of the staff who cared for Mom and would not hesitate to recommend Holly Lodge.

My mother who suffers from Vascular Dementia has been a resident at Holly Lodge for three years and during that time has regularly expressed her full contentment with being at the home and the care that she receives from all of the very friendly and attentive staff. I have always found the home’s environment
to be very clean, welcoming and homely and the staff to be dedicated, obliging, caring and attentive. Residents' needs are also well understood by staff and appropriately met in terms of both personal and medical care at all times. The health and safety of the residents have always always been paramount which has been particularly demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic, during which, full precautionary measures have been applied and has ensured that all of the residents and staff have avoided contracting the virus. From a personal perspective, I regard Holly Lodge as an ideal residential care home for my mother’s needs for this stage in her life.

When I first realised my Mother needed care after a fall, I looked at several local care homes and this one just stood out head and shoulders above the others. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable right from my first visit and the place had a warm homely feeling. The rooms are spacious, clean and
tastefully furnished all with en suite facilities. If one day I am in need of care I have informed my family that this is the place I would like to be. Thanks to all the team for looking after Mom.

After spending some time looking at different care homes, our mother moved into Holly Lodge on the 9th March 2020, and almost immediately went into lockdown. The care she received during this difficult time was exceptional; the staff were wonderful and went out of their way to accommodate FaceTime calls
and window visits, which were obviously our only options. Unfortunately, shortly before Christmas, she had a fall, and we have now been told she needs nursing care and therefore, is unable to return. We will be forever grateful to the staff at Holly Lodge for all they did in the 9 months she spent there, and I would highly recommend Holly Lodge to anyone looking for a safe and high standard care home.

My very close friend became very poorly and was unable to care for herself at home. She needed full-time care, so we looked at a few care homes that were recommended to us.
On the day of her visit, she stayed for her dinner, which allowed her to familiarise herself with staff and residents. She told
me that the management and staff were wonderful, and the residents provided her with positive reviews, the food was wonderful too.
She moved in shortly afterwards, and after many visits, I can confirm that the management and staff were excellent. They provided for her every need; in a professional and caring manner. I personally got to know most of the staff by name and built a good relationship with them. I can highly recommend Holly Lodge for its compassion and quality of care, in making my friends last few months so comfortable right up to her recent passing. They even attended the funeral, which endorses the quality of compassion from management and staff alike.

This is a lovely building and good atmosphere, lovely lounges and bedrooms.
The senior staff are excellent, the general staff are very caring but are very busy and sometimes time prevents one on one quality time with residents. A relaxed happy atmosphere prevails.
