Netherton Green offers a safe setting for older people to receive personalised care and support. Four houses make up the purpose built home, providing different types and levels of care for short or long term requirements.

The home is situated in a pleasant residential area, close to the centre of Dudley and offers comfortable accommodation within a warm and welcoming environment. Bright and airy rooms have been furnished and decorated to the high standard expected in a Advinia care home.

From the outset, we were warmly and compassionately welcomed by the deputy manager and his team. They all went out of their way to reassure us that my uncle would receive the very best of care. Very person-centred and nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend excellent palliative care.

When we came to visit as a family, we were offered hot drinks and biscuits. We were made to feel welcome at any time. He was checked on regularly, and looked clean and comfortable. The room was always clean and tidy and also around to hand pictures up to make it feel like home. He loved the stuff as
his face always lit up hearing them. We are so pleased with his care and thank everyone.

Our dad moved from hospital in mid-May and even though he was only there for a short period of time, the care he received was excellent. All of the staff both nurses and carers were always there to check on him, help and support us as he was receiving care. They kept him comfortable and pain-free.

This home was first class in every way, from the room and location, to the manager and to the nurses and carers who I knew my dad loved. You could tell his face lit up when they spoke, I cannot fault the care, it was exceptional. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Thank you.

My mum has been a resident in Darby House for over 3 years and I have found the nursing care to be of an excellent standard. Any concerns are dealt with promptly and sensitively and to my satisfaction. I feel reassured she is in safe hands. I am kept informed if there are any issues that I need to be

Mum has been in Netherton Green now for three years. I cannot fault the care that she receives and any small issues that I may have raised have mainly been dealt with. Mum is in Windmill Unit and most of the staff and especially the activities lady on there go above and beyond! As with all care homes,
there is always room for improvement.

I feel the carers here are excellent and make me feel confident that Mum is protected and cared for. This is so important to me as I am so sad to have to leave her care to someone else. What a cruel way to end your days isn't it? Carers really are overworked and underpaid but a blessing for us all.

My mom went to Netherton Green for rehabilitation after a fall. From the moment she arrived I received a phone call from a lovely nurse to let me know she was settled and happy. Every time I called the home to ask how my mom was the staff were well mannered and took the time to answer my questions,
in particular the receptionist who was very patient and took the time to call me back if she didn’t know the answer to my questions. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to see my mom as often as I would have liked due to covid but staff were always happy to hand me the washing and put away the clean washing whenever I came by and I was kept up to date with any changes. Mom couldn't fault the care staff although she did say that there wasn’t enough staff so they were run off their feet. Although they were clearly overworked, this didn’t reduce the amount of care and love they gave. From the receptionist, unit manager, care staff, nurses and cleaning staff, I couldn’t fault the care! Thank you all!

My mom was only in here for 24 hours and that was too long. She was admitted for rehab for a broken hip. It absolutely broke her spirit and she was desperate to get out. My dad brought her TV in so she had something to do and the television was never plugged in. During the night she was left for hours
in soiled underwear. When she asked to be washed, one member of staff said to another, "Leave her until tomorrow." When she called for help, no one came to her. One member of staff came to her and then slammed the door on her when leaving. When the family came to visit, her water jug was empty, and she was sat in the heat, dripping with sweat with no fan! She also had a thigh dressing from surgery, which hadn't been changed.


The nurses were brilliant with updates, but the actual hands-on care was disgusting! My mom worked in care herself when younger, and even though she's ill, she could have done a better job herself. Would not recommend for rehabilitation.

We visit every week. You have to book an appointment and have a test before you see your relative. When you have had the test you are made to wait a full 30 minutes before you can go ahead with the visit. I can deal with that but what I can not accept is when I arrive for my appointment on time, ring
the buzzer then have to wait 30 minutes sometimes before a member of staff comes out to us.

Not a bad experience, cannot give a full review as with COVID visits are limited and only started in March. But overall pleased, care seems good and food seems ok.

The care is unbelievable, my mum hasn't looked this well for years. She says she's not been this happy in a long time. The room is always clean and tidy and by the looks of the food, I'd move in myself! The staff are always pleasant and helpful when you ask questions. The grounds are superb. I only
have nothing but praise for the staff, food, accommodation and the grounds. 10/10, well done!

Aspect of bungalows and grounds very well maintained. Car parking facilities good. Staff are friendly, approachable and kind. Residents and their accommodation are kept very clean. No nasty smells. Window visits were always available. Only one problem, Mom's twinsets all shrank in the dryer. Staff put
up notice for me to wash them for which I was grateful.

My mom went to Netherton Green Care Home for respite care following surgery for a broken ankle. She was well cared for from day one until she died in February 2021. I cannot fault the care my mom and my family received. This all took place during a pandemic, but this did not alter the professionalism
and care that was shown to mom. When she died, we were allowed time to be with Mom. Excellent care.

My mom was admitted for rehabilitation from hospital, however, there was not a bed in the rehab unit and she was placed on the Primrose Unit. The staff were generally very caring towards my mom, however, she did not receive the physio/OT input which was promised prior to her admission. In addition,
her nutritional needs were not met and she lost weight and became quite frail. I was able to visit her only through a window (which I accept is due to the COVID restrictions and no fault of Netherton Green) and therefore it was difficult to observe the deterioration. During her time at NG my Mom was admitted to hospital with an infection (not COVID). She was taken in an ambulance and the staff failed to send her mobile, purse or additional nightwear or underwear - she had only the nightwear she was wearing and they failed to inform the Paramedics that she was taking medication for cancer - the A&E department were very concerned about this.

Throughout my stay, I have received excellent care and attention. All the staff have been extremely kind and helpful and looked after me very well, always going that extra mile! Their attention has been above and beyond the call of duty. If there is a criticism, its that in some shifts there is not
enough staff. Thank you all at Darby House for making my stay so comfortable.

My husband transferred to the Saltwells Step-down Unit at Netherton Green following an operation to fit a feeding peg at the hospital.
Sadly his recurring bouts of aspirational pneumonia have meant that any attempts at rehab were not to be and the manager of the unit, set up the assessment for NHS
CHC funding for him.
Sadly Covid19 needed this temporary placement extended yet the staff continued to show him wonderful love, compassion and commitment caring for him until his care package came through! Many staff have become real friends keeping in touch to see how he is getting on!
All staff, including housekeeping and activities staff, were great and helped keep him safe throughout the crisis caused by Covid.
In particular, I would like thank, the manager, for her unfailing support at this very stressful and difficult time, and for totally understanding the decision to move him closer to the family during this time. God bless you all!

Nikki has been with Advinia for just over three years, joining as an Activities Coordinator, and after helping out in the office during Covid she then moved to the Receptionist position on the rehabilitation House. This is a role that she thoroughly enjoyed and felt that she was able to learn so much more about the home. From there Nikki joined the Finance team where she is the home Administrator.


Outside of work, she is a mum to a 5-year-old little boy and has just brought her first home with her partner, who she is due to marry in 2023.

I joined the team at Netherton Green in June 2001 as a Care Assistant, roughly 18 months later I was successful in promotion to Senior Care Assistant which was a role I had for 16 years. For the last 3 and a half years I have worked in the Activities and Wellbeing team and was again successful in promotion to Senior Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator at the beginning of 2022. Being in the Activities team allows me to get to know the Residents and their families in a different way, being able to help them engage with and enable Residents to continue to do the things that they enjoy, really is what I love about my job.
