Netherton Green offers a safe setting for older people to receive personalised care and support. Four houses make up the purpose built home, providing different types and levels of care for short or long term requirements.

The home is situated in a pleasant residential area, close to the centre of Dudley and offers comfortable accommodation within a warm and welcoming environment. Bright and airy rooms have been furnished and decorated to the high standard expected in a Advinia care home.

Both hot and cold options are available at mealtimes and the in-house chef fully understands residents’ needs and dietary preferences to make sure they receive food that they find both satisfying and enjoyable.

Residents can continue to enjoy their pastimes in the home or even start new ones with the help of the dedicated activity co-ordinator, always on hand to suggest new ideas and help clients to achieve a fulfilling lifestyle. My Mom is now a permanent resident at Netherton Green. After an initial uneasy period when Mom was settling in and getting used to having to be looked after, she now feels at home and has made friends. This has been a great relief to myself and her family. The staff here have always been professional,
caring and patient, keeping me informed of all problems or issues concerning my Mom. The girls are very friendly and obviously care about the residents.

The staff at Darby House cannot be faulted. They are the best and most caring people I have ever met - so many people are quick to complain about care services but I cannot compliment enough. You should all be so proud of the job that you do- and it is obvious to everyone that it is not just a job to
you, but a lifestyle.

I have found Netherton Green to be very friendly, staff are kind, thoughtful, caring and obliging in every way. Rooms and day rooms lounge and dining rooms are well cared for and very clean. Bed linen is always clean and fresh. Nothing is too much trouble day or night if ever I need care I hope they
will find a place for me.

My mother was sent to Darby House from hospital for rehab. Do not be fooled by first impressions. Patients are left unattended most of the day, food is cold, rooms not cleaned. No information was given by staff and when given was incorrect. My mother's clothes were removed 3 layers together inside out,
including bed jacket left in washing basket full of vomit. Lost items of clothing and towels
Finally discharged my mom to another home without prior notice to family or checking that all her medical requirements had been met before her release!

The care of my mum was to an excellent standard, she felt happy and safe.
Socialising was a huge part of mum's recovery process and this was encouraged. Most staff were attentive and sensitive to mums needs.
Participation in activities, both group and physio was also encouraged and benefited mum.
Food was varied and to a good standard, I have no complaints about mums standard of care.
One suggestion she had, to improve services, was to have a separate male/female toilet facility. This would add to dignity for both genders.

My Dad came to the care home for end of life care.
From the moment he was admitted the staff were kind, compassionate and informative.
It was a very emotional and upsetting time for all our family and Dad but we were reassured by the actions of staff that we had made the right decision.
My Dad was
treated with kindness and dignity and the staff genuinely seemed to care.
Sometimes we'd appear unannounced to find staff feeding Dad and chatting to him, keeping him company.
The work these staff do is commendable, I cannot thank them enough.

The care home is a fantastic and very family orientated run place. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. My father was care for famously in this place. I would highly recommend this care home.

I am POA for my father who was a resident in Windmill House. The staff were pleasant enough, but not always responsive to his immediate needs and at times needed prompting. Felt that staff need to respond more quickly to residents requests for help. Lack of consistency in levels of care given to him
and felt that better observation should have been given to him to ensure that his dietary and fluid needs were being met. I felt disappointed that we were not routinely updated regarding how my father was doing. Feel that there needs to be an improvement in the care and service provided to residents.

My father moved to Netherton Green approximately 3-4 months ago. Going into care was a huge transition for both himself and us as a family. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and professionalism provided to my father. Staff are always extremely personable and always willing to fill me in on how
my dad is doing. Residents are always treated with respect and dignity. Residents have a great choice in their day to day activities and these choices are always respected. Netherton Green has certainly become a home to my dad and I am happy he is safe and well cared for. Thank you to all staff at Netherton Green.

I am a POA for a resident. In the short time she has been here I find that most of the staff are kind, helpful and sympathetic, but there are others who are cold, unfeeling and sharp. I had asked twice for her to have a shower and hair washed but this request has been ignored, which is disappointing.
Food, meals etc seems quite good. So improvements still need to be made.

Admitted as step down patient following a stroke. Happy with service received, but could respond faster when toilet visits are needed. The care home is superbly clean. Happy with all aspects of care received, other than the occasional waiting mentioned above. The staff seem very caring and work together
to attain Bupa standards. I hope the same level of care/therapy continues for the entire length of stay, but would like to see an improvement in waiting times for toilet visits. I know you have a lot of patients but this is my only area of concern. Thank you for everything being done to help with recovery.

On rehabilitation unit. The unit is very good apart from occasionally need to wait for assistance from the staff as they are very busy with others. Food and drink excellent. The room is lovely and the staff are brilliant.

Job Title: Administrator

Joined: 2019

Nikki has been with Advinia for just over three years, joining as an Activities Coordinator, and after helping out in the office during Covid she then moved to the Receptionist position on the rehabilitation House. This is a role that she thoroughly enjoyed and felt that she was able to learn so much more about the home. From there Nikki joined the Finance team where she is the home Administrator.


Outside of work, she is a mum to a 5-year-old little boy and has just brought her first home with her partner, who she is due to marry in 2023.

I joined the team at Netherton Green in June 2001 as a Care Assistant, roughly 18 months later I was successful in promotion to Senior Care Assistant which was a role I had for 16 years. For the last 3 and a half years I have worked in the Activities and Wellbeing team and was again successful in promotion to Senior Activity and Wellbeing Coordinator at the beginning of 2022. Being in the Activities team allows me to get to know the Residents and their families in a different way, being able to help them engage with and enable Residents to continue to do the things that they enjoy, really is what I love about my job.
