My time at Russells Court (although for health reasons) was like being in a family hotel.
I could not have asked for better care and support. It is only due to the staff and physios that I was back on my feet after just under 4 weeks. Thank you.
The management played a big role in this by keeping
me informed and providing transport to my hospital visits.
I will be forever grateful to everyone for helping me through a painful time. Thank you.

I would like to express my sincerest thanks for the care of my brother. He was admitted to Russell Court in August 2024 with terminal cancer, and he spent the last six months of his life there. He was treated with respect, and his welfare was carefully assessed, and his care administered by considerate
and competent care assistants and medical personnel who liaised with the Palliative team. It is a comfort and blessing to me that he was kept as comfortable as possible to the end, and he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

My husband is in this home, he is cared for amazingly meals look lovely and hygiene is great. All the staff are lovely, the residents play games to stay entertained, and have a TV in the room which my husband enjoys watching films and TV and listening to the radio.

The care team at Maple Wing was excellent. Her room was really good and the cleaning staff were first class. All of the staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. The nursing team was really good.
There is a nice day room downstairs but it is under-utilised and patients are not encouraged to use
it. The specialist podiatry team was only available for diabetic patients. This was a real shortcoming and resulted in Mum leaving with an infected foot ulcer.

All the staff are wonderful, caring and always smiling. My rehab is going well, physios are doing a great job for me. The food is excellent, they have accommodated my dietary needs as I have had bariatric surgery and can only eat pureed food and no dairy at all. It will be a sad day when I leave but
a great day as next stop is back home. I cannot thank all here at Russell's Court for the care, help, and rehab I have received.

Can't fault the rehab my wife is receiving she has come a long way with the help of all the staff here the room she is in is clean and warm. The food is very good and she is checked on at regular intervals wouldn't want her anywhere else while she is undergoing rehab.

My mother spent 6 weeks of rehabilitation here. She was treated with care and utmost dignity.
As a relative visiting I was always welcomed with a smile and greeted with warmth by all staff.
The decor was a little tired and a fresh lack of paint was due soon I would have thought, but the most important
thing was the care which was excellent.
We were also allowed to bring the family dog in - excellent.
Other care homes I have visited.

All the staff were kind, attentive and helpful. They often went above and beyond what was asked of them. They were always cheerful. However, some of the night staff could be abrupt and over-vigorous in handling.

My dad was moved to Russell Court for rehabilitation following a fall, that had resulted in a break of the leg and ankle along with subsequent unexpected health complications. Dad has never been in nursing home setting and as family this was new to us all. From the outset, the professional care, patience
and respect shown to my dad has been exceptional and continues to be so; this has extended to us as a family. It is a time of uncertainty, meaning there a several occasions where we are seeking reassurance, have questions whether it be nursing home related or requiring clarity from various clinical experts external to the home; the management, clinical and care teams in the home do their utmost to support us through this.
On a lighter, it was Dad's birthday in week 2 of his stay in the home, the team surprised him with such an effort to make his day special and ensured all family that visited were made welcome.

My father has been at Russell Court since February 2023. It's a wonderful nursing home with a personal touch. From a smooth initial transition to lots of fun and laughter during tough times. All the staff are brilliant and we recommend Russel Court and are sad to be leaving.

I was admitted post-hospital stay for further physio rehab following a fracture. The stay was generally good. The room was too small for use of rehab e.g. couldn't access the window with walking aids. The staff were generally brilliant, found one Healthcare Assistant quite rude.

I feel the professional care and respect shown to my husband is exceptional. All the staff are very pleasant and show real empathy towards him and always have time for any questions or queries I may have. It is a bright, cheery, clean place and has a lovely, pleasant feel to it. The support and reassurance
given to me during such a stressful time has been amazing. It's so difficult when you have to make the decision of professional care for a loved one. Russell Court was definitely the right decision for us.

Seven weeks of loved one in here. Vile, negligible place. Residents sit in wheelchairs for 6+ hours at a time, zero movement. Not transferred to seats. Bedsore within 2 weeks. Buzzers left ringing for over 30 minutes. Nan showered once in 7 weeks. Fingernails caked in dirt. Food-splattered clothes hung
back up. Told had to wait from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm to have a wee as the staff was on handover. Poorly managed break-wise. Often no staff to be found. Drinks are provided in dirty tea-stained beakers. Residents either stay in a room on their own or sit in their wheelchairs at the dining table all day. The nice comfy lounge is never used as apparently the heating is broken. Residents in the dining area do not have carers present even during meals. There are some amazing staff. The lady who does the activities is a godsend for the residents. Two other members of staff in particular are great too. The nursing side had a lot of admin errors, serious ones - communication is lax. Overall I wouldn't even put a dog in here. Do not recommend.

I was only in Russell Court for 6 days due to a stroke which took the left side of my body but in that time the physios managed to get me out of bed and start to walk and with perseverance, I have managed to walk without any aides.
All the staff from managers, physio, medical and the main team, the
carers work so hard to make you feel at ease and look after you so well (hats off to them).
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone from Russell Court.

Having had experience of previous care homes and them not being great, I was so worried when my grandad needed rehabilitation care after breaking his leg. Within moments of walking through the door at Russell Court, I was put at ease immediately. I was met with a lovely smile and the care I was shown
was amazing. My grandad was in for a week and every member of staff I came across was so friendly, they all said hello and many asked if I knew where everything was. The care they showed for him gave him some dignity back. He was even talking about staying there permanently, I think that says it all.
The weeks leading up to his stay here were tough, what the home gave us back was being with my grandad again and enjoying his company.
Sadly he passed away but again how the staff handled this was with so much empathy and just simple kindness. I can't recommend this home enough. Thank you for making my grandad's last few days happy for him, I will be forever grateful.

After having been in hospital for some seven weeks, my mother was sent to Russell Court and immediately received the comfort care and attention she required. She had care and peace in her final days which was a relief to all her family. Our sincere thanks to everyone.

Hello, I am Kiran Qayum. I am the Service Provider of Russell Court Nursing Home. I am an Adult Nurse and have been working in the care sector since the age of 18. I have been the Service Provider of the home since we opened in 2020 - I am so proud to be part of the team here. At the start of my nursing journey, I worked in busy wards at a big, local hospital - moving to Russell Court has allowed me to get to know our residents and spend time with each and every one.
