I can honestly say that my brother was treated with outstanding care and dignity during his stay. He was terminally ill and there for end of life care. I cannot praise the staff and management highly enough. They were so friendly and polite at all times. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for them.
Sadly my brother died of his illness but this was handled brilliantly by all of the staff and he died peacefully in no pain.
There truly are no adequate words that could convey my deepest admiration and heartfelt gratitude.

My dad was only there for four days before he, unfortunately, passed away but in that time all the staff were brilliant, helpful and caring.
My dad spent his last few days believing he was in a swanky hotel (his words).

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the whole team at Ryland View for your care of my nan, you have set the standards to what we would expect going forward. Made us all really welcome from day 1. My nan has thrived in your care which we are so grateful. Shame it is temporary as we would still be
there.

Thank you.

My mother was in Heronville House for a few months, she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. I visited her every day and found the staff to be very attentive and welcoming. I was made to feel welcome and was involved in all aspects of mum's care. There were activities which she was involved
in, days out were planned, she used the hairdressers fortnightly, aromatherapy weekly and chiropodist. The carers and nurses were approachable at all times even when busy, nothing was too much trouble. If you have someone with dementia I would highly recommend this nursing home, I myself held out to get mum a placement here and I couldn't have been happier with her being here.

My mother had a period of respite at Ryland View, all the staff were amazing with my mom. She was treated with respect and dignity and above all patience, even when they were extremely busy as they were very hard working. My mother said she could only find two faults, 1/ there were no permanent beds
for residential care. 2/ never any vinegar!! She did not want to leave, so a big thank you for making the transition from her own flat to residential. The family are very grateful for your kind hospitality.

Haines House which is part of Ryland View has cared for my-sister-in-law for the last five years. The care has been first class. When the needed hospital care has been arranged. My sister-in-law is kept clean and fed to a very high standard as is her private room.

I was recommended by a friend to Bloomfield Unit at Ryland View Care Home and can see why. I have complete confidence in the staff and cannot praise them enough for the way they look after my Mom, kind, courteous, understanding and also supportive to me too, when I have any worries. Some of the staff
have been there over twenty years which shows dedication and proves that it isn't just a job to them, they genuinely care about the residents. I live quite a distance from the home but am kept informed at all times with anything that concerns Mom.

My mum was a temporary resident there whilst waiting for a permanent nursing home. She was looked after and treated with care, respect and dignity.
While residing in there, she developed a urine infection and was treated promptly, before it got hold of her.
Cannot fault anything about this house
in any way, shape or form, from the caring and friendly staff to management, who were very helpful with anything we asked of them, to the cleanliness of the home and facilities.
Overall we would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.

When looking for a residential home for my dad, thank goodness we found Ryland View, we saw some very disappointing homes and were feeling quite upset at the thought of placing dad in their care. Then we found Ryland View and we could not be happier. The manager and all the carers are wonderful, compassionate,
caring and nothing is too much trouble. We can sleep at night knowing dad is cared for 24 hours a day. The food is excellent and so are the rooms and facilities and they always go that extra mile to make both residents and their families happy and content.

I have been a resident at Ryland View since February 2016. I am completely bedridden, have a permanent catheter and because of the thoracic problems, I have a peg tube inserted so all of my food and liquids are pumped directly into my stomach. I wear a pad for my bowels. This time last year, medical
staff told me I must go into a care home, I was petrified, but since I have been in Ryland View I have been treated like royalty and all staff are excellent.

My husband has been at Manby House now for two months and my husband has been looked after extremely well and staff are extremely fantastic with my husband as since his illness which was a stroke in January 2016 he has a lot of problems dealing with this but the staff have been very helpful to him and
took very good care of him.

My brother has been a resident at the above care home, he is well cared for, he is engaged in activities that suit all his needs, and has a lot of choices. My brothers choice in clothes is always taken into consideration. He chooses his own garment. He is very much contented. I have no concerns.

Current Review Score: 7.9 (7.944)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.944) out of 10 for Ryland View Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.7 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 3.731 for Ryland View Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (67 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (29 Satisfactorys x 3) + (10 Poors x 2) + (21 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 167 Ratings = 3.731

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.213 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ryland View Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 144 registered maximum number of service users is 28.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 28.8 = 0.313

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
