I witnessed exceptionally compassionate end-of-life care for my aunt from all of the staff at the care home. This came on top of over a decade of superb care she received there. I cannot praise them highly enough for not only doing their job, but for going so much further in ensuring that my aunt was
cared for, was nursed, and had someone with her as much as was feasibly possible throughout the final days of her life. Everybody who I encountered there was thoroughly professional and compassionate to an exceptional extent. They didn't just care, they were truly truly caring. I should add that I have nothing but praise for every aspect of the home, from the financial diligence through the general management and the demeanour of those at the sharp end of things. The home has a wonderful atmosphere and I feel truly blessed that my aunt was able to live there for so many years.

Mum resided at The Woodlands from February 2022 until June 2024. All aspects of her care were excellent. The final three months of her life were spent in the home where her care was exemplary. The path through dementia is complicated and the home manager, was willing to explain to me how Mum was changing
and how her care plan needed to adapt accordingly. Mum's needs were always met and on the rare occasion I felt I had an issue it would be promptly and thoroughly dealt with. I recommend Woodlands Care Home unreservedly.

I have been here for four weeks now - initially, we wanted the room for my husband, but I had a major operation so am using the room for myself until he is ready to come here. I cannot fault any of the staff or management, this feels like I have moved home. The rooms are really good. Nothing is too
much trouble for the staff, and the food is also superb and served with tablecloths and flowers on the tables. There is something for the residents most days, and they are encouraged to take part. The gardens are beautiful. I know my husband will be well looked after and treated properly. Definetly five stars.

My dad lived in the Woodlands for 16 months in the spinney care unit for residents with dementia. The staff treated him and myself and other relatives like family. When at the initial visit, I asked about visiting arrangements, the manager said, "this will be your dad's home, visit whenever you like".
And it was truly home for him. Staff got to know him and his likes and dislikes and spared no effort to make him happy. He loved his food and often had several breakfasts. All meals are cooked on-site, and he enjoyed them, when they realised Dad preferred hot meals to sandwiches, two hot meals a day were provided. Activities were provided, and he loved the regular entertainment and parties, singing along and dancing in his chair. He felt safe and got to know the staff as there was great continuity.
When Dad became ill with his final illness, he was cared for with competence and compassion, and his family were supported.
We are so grateful for the superb care he received throughout.

My mum was diagnosed with dementia in 2016 and we 'managed' at home until Covid lockdown in March 2020. We had already met the Care Manager and were on the waiting list for Woodlands. I advise people to get in touch and be prepared in advance. The Care Manager and the whole team take a genuine interest
in not only the person coming to live at the Woodlands but also the family and friends supporting that person. My father was nearly 90 and a primary carer and was treated with equal affection whenever he visited.

Mum was at Woodlands for 3 years and we celebrated her 90th birthday there in a beautifully decorated common room with a full 4-course meal, all organised by the staff. We had used other care homes for respite care both for mum and dad, but the level of continuity and kindness at Woodlands is what sets it apart. Staff get to know residents and how best to interact for all their individual needs. It really is a home for those who come to stay.

My mum was in this home for almost five years. Of course, the period of her stay incorporated the dreaded Covid years but the home did everything possible to make the residents' experience comfortable and to facilitate visiting. At all times in the five years, I found the staff to be kind and caring,
not only to my mum but to me too. Food was always excellent and there were many special events and activities. Mum was made to feel special. She loved the carers and they loved her. I saw her face light up when interacting with the staff.
Above all, I always felt secure in the knowledge that the staff were looking after her, especially during her many infections. I was always kept informed.
The beautiful garden was a sanctuary for Mum.
Making the decision to move a relative into a home is very difficult but I can recommend this home.

My mum was a resident at Woodlands for nearly three and a half years. She passed away last week. From the moment she arrived at Woodlands, she was treated with care, compassion and dignity. I believe that this kind of quality environment begins "at the top" - I cannot say enough good things about the
management of the home. During Covid, the staff fought night and day to keep their residents safe. We always felt confident that Mum was in the best of hands. At the end, the staff could not have done more for us as we kept vigil. I shall always be grateful that we found our "Woodlands family" for Mum.

For the last three years and three and a half months, my mum has received consistently outstanding care, support and dignity. The home has always been very welcoming, extremely clean and always open to the families of residents. While always professional, staff members were friendly and considerate
of both Mum and her family at all times. Towards the end of Mum's time at Woodlands, staff showed exemplary care and two members of staff demonstrated their care by going well beyond their call of duty in order to support Mum and her family. We will never forget their kindness.

My father was greeted by a warm inviting feeling as soon as he walked through the doors at Woodland Quaker home in Wolverhampton. The staff were all constantly caring, patient and kind. My father was at Woodlands for just two months, but in that time I believe he encountered many lovely moments and
genuinely loving care. After a Christmas party, shortly before he passed away, he said it was the best party he'd ever been to. My father suffered with dementia and was not always easy, but I believe he enjoyed many activities, meals and visiting singers. He never had a bad word to say about any staff (high praise indeed!) It is my belief my father would have continued to enjoy everything Woodlands had to offer, had he not contracted flu which led to pneumonia. So as a family, we would like to thank Woodlands Quaker Home for their sincere Christian love.

My parents were both residents at the Woodlands between 2017 and 2022. They both were cared for very well by the lovely staff. We were always kept fully up to date with everything.
Their end-of-life care was exceptional.

The home's staff were very caring to my mother especially as she was always trying to escape. The care managers were very kind in the ways they looked after her. The hairdressing facilities were good when my mother was able to use them. The good she always enjoyed and care at meal times was very helpful.
The night staff took great patience with her when she was unable to sleep. On the whole, very pleased wth the Woodlands staff and the care home.

I honestly cannot praise the management and staff at Woodlands enough. Although my father was only there for a short period of three months, before he passed away, the care and compassion they all showed were very much appreciated. It's a very high standard of care by staff and I would not hesitate
in recommending it to family and friends in the future.

Woodlands Quaker Home is a wonderful care home and provided both of my parents with the support and care they needed. Woodlands is a happy environment with staff who show sensitivity and friendship to the residents. The rooms are pleasant with a lovely garden to look at and visit. The range of activities
and events is excellent. The staff are so thoughtful, not just towards the residents but the families too. Altogether, an excellent home.

My father went into Woodlands Quaker Home when my mother became too ill to care for him as his dementia got worse. We couldn't have made a better choice. Unfortunately, Dad died after a month but during his short stay, the care he received was exemplary. Every member of staff we came into contact with
showed kindness and compassion. Being a Quaker home, the surroundings may be basic but are perfectly adequate, along with the beautiful grounds for sitting or walking in. What it may lack in luxurious surroundings is more than made up for with the care, kindness and compassion shown by everyone, the activities and lovely meals etc. We felt safe in the knowledge Dad was well looked after. Each time we visited, the staff gave us an update on his health/well-being and were able to direct us to where he was sitting that day. I cannot recommend Woodlands Quaker Home highly enough; we were blessed Dad spent his final days there.

I was lucky to get my dad into Woodlands Quaker Home in 2019. It sounds cheesy but I do believe it was fate as I had just got to the point where I was really struggling with him at home. It has been his home until he recently passed away. I say home because that is what it is. Everyone is part of a
big family and all of the staff interact with the residents, not just the care staff. Words cannot convey how much I have valued the care they gave my dad right up to the day he died. They have looked after him superbly as well as taking the time to have a laugh and a joke with him. Woodlands Quaker Home is a beautiful care home with stunning grounds and I can honestly say I wouldn't mind ending up there myself! Special praise to all of the hardworking compassionate staff who run the home like a well-oiled machine. They are all amazing and deserve a medal. All the family will have special memories of our time there and I will miss visiting.

Woodlands Quaker Home is not your average care home, it is a building full of character with well-maintained gardens, fresh home-cooked meals and management and carers who are there 24/7. There is a salon and activities are arranged for them (sit down keep fit, sing-a-longs and coffee/tea mornings).
My father has been here for nearly three years. He feels safe and secure, which gives me peace of mind knowing I have picked the right home for him.

The Woodlands is a beautiful home and made the transition for my wife, who was going in for respite, extremely well. The manager and all staff we have found to be extremely caring, and thing is too much trouble. My wife has settled so well, and this is all down to the care and support of all the staff
at the Woodlands. Thank you.

It had come to a time where the difficult decision had to be made for my mum who has got vascular dementia to go into a care home, after 8 years at home with my dad, the Woodlands Quaker Home team made this happen with great care and empathy not only to my mum and dad but to all our family and for that,
I am ever grateful. The Woodlands Quaker Home is exceptional, their ethos of care shows through all their staff and all residents are treated with care, kindness and the upmost respect and most of all their dignity. They are all like a big family and that's the feeling you get every time you go. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Woodlands Quaker Home to anyone.

This is an exceptional care home, it is unlike all of the other care homes we looked at.
It has the most wonderful atmosphere and I would describe it as a home that cares, rather than just a care home; everyone is made to feel welcome, including relatives and friends that visit.
My stepfather was
a resident at Woodlands for two and a half years. He had already had dementia before he went to live at Woodlands and anything new was quite distressing for him; because of this there were a few challenges initially, yet he was welcomed into Woodlands with open arms and was very soon made to feel at home by the kind, friendly, respectful and hard-working staff, who most importantly are happy in their work.
It was a great relief to our family that my stepfather was here and was so well cared for during the Covid restrictions, and I will always be grateful for this.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Woodlands to anybody!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.835)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.835) out of 10 for Woodlands Quaker Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.935 for Woodlands Quaker Home is calculated as follows: ( (101 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.935

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Quaker Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
