My Mother was in Woodlands Care Home in the EMI Unit for nearly 2 years. We had to move her from the home to a nursing home as her mobility became very bad and it was felt she needed nursing care as well as care! We as a family we found the staff always efficient and always treated my Mother with the
utmost dignity.

The food was always very satisfactory as was the care! At times the carers were very stretched! The management team were very helpful and did their best to make sure my Mother's transition from care home to nursing home as smooth as possible.

My mother has been a resident at the Woodlands Quaker Home, Wolverhampton. My mother passed away in hospital at the age of 94 after suffering a fall. She was a resident for over 5 years and she received wonderful care, and as a family, we received great support. The staff are dedicated, professional
and empathic towards my mother and my family. I have always felt part of the 'Woodlands family' and feel heartbroken that this has come to an end. Management team very supportive. I would give the Woodlands 10/10 for everything.

My mother has been at the Woodlands for a year and during this time she has experienced a wonderful caring home. My mother is blind (no vision at all) and also a Coeliac. The Woodland management were clear, from the start that she would be made to feel at home, that they had other residents with either
vision problems and/or severe dietary restrictions. The staff have performed better than I could ever have expected and my mother in enjoying every minute at her new home. There are activities for the residents everyday, all the food is cooked on site. The staff are able to manage my mothers challenges with ease.

When my uncle needed full care, we were delighted to find Woodlands both welcoming and caring. Staff are universally friendly. There is openness in discussing my uncle's needs. As my uncle became less mobile, discrete assistance increased to meet his needs. The Woodlands is always clean and does not
feel like an institutional facility. When my uncle died, he was supported, as were we, by people he knew and liked.

The Woodlands has provided care for our aunty and peace of mind for us for nearly two years. It was the only home she would consider as they had also taken care of her brother for five years. Fully satisfied with everything they do for her.

I was looking for respite for my mom, on visiting the home everyone was very welcoming and it was like a homely reception. The manager is responsive to all individual needs and it is very well led by her. All the staff are aware of moms complete history and paperwork is kept up to date. Mom is very
settled with all the care and support she needs. I am very happy with my moms care at The Woodlands Quaker Home and Spinney. Mom is now a permanent resident there. I have told family and friends what a lovely place it is to care for loved ones.

The Woodlands is simply outstanding. I visit my friend all hours of the day and am always greeted with a welcome. The care and attention is second to none. The variety of activities on offer are wonderful and varied. The dignity of residents is utmost with all the staff who have worked there for a long
time.
I have witnessed genuine affection shown by staff to all the residents. Attention to detail is always evident and every member of the community is made to feel special. Specialist support is provided where needed and there is excellent communication between the home and myself. I cannot recommend the Woodlands enough!

Living close to the Woodlands, I was able to visit anytime. the staff were always helpful, nothing too much trouble in any respect. I always felt it was a peaceful, quiet place to visit. The residents always treated with dignity. For just over a year of my mum's stay, her final year, she was transferred
to the Dementia Unit, where the level of care was so good. When visiting, it was like being part of a big family. Four weeks before she died she went into hospital for two weeks, thinking, but hoping and praying this wouldn't be where she would spend her final days. The management were so helpful in getting her back to the Woodlands where they tried so hard to get her well again. I am very thankful to them and still visit. God took my Mum, she was a Christian, on Mother's Day 2015.

My mother has been a resident at the above home for two and a half years now. It took her a while to adjust and settle. She, and our family have been treated respectfully and openly throughout. We are invited to help on an equal footing, with decisions relating to my mothers care, needs and wellbeing.

My 93 year old nana settled in straight away which we were very pleased with. The staff are all without fail so friendly and caring. They are so dedicated to their work and seem to enjoy working with the old people too. My nan has made lots of friends loves the food and enjoys walking around the beautiful
grounds several times a day. She likes chatting to the staff too. I'm so pleased we found this place- it is fantastic!

Woodlands Quaker Home has an excellent reputation in Wolverhampton and deservedly so. We feel very fortunate that my mother is cared for there. She has lived at Woodlands Quaker Home for a month and so far there has been a coffee morning, Halloween party, choirs, yoga and keep fit, something every day
in fact (she has a far better social life them we do!) We have been impressed with every single member of staff that we have met- they all go that extra mile. It's a home from home - only better!

Extremely welcoming and informative first visit, thanks to manager, mother's first full assessment by the deputy manager was very thorough, every detail recorded mother's requirements. The home has a lovely "homely" feel and provides extremely clean, comfortable accommodation in this beautiful old house
surrounded by a well tended grounds. The carers are very attentive and helpful - they deserve a medal for the sterling work they do in meeting the diverse needs of residents. The meals are excellent and the dining tables are nicely set out. The administrative staff and laundry and ancillary staff provide excellent service and the social co-ordinator provides a variety of activities. There is good co-operation between the local medical centre, the district nurses, optician and chiropodist. There is also a hairdresser. My family and I are extremely grateful for the dedicated service the home provides, which operates within the parameters of the Quaker ethos.

My mother has been at Woodlands for nearly two years now. During that time her health has unfortunately diminished. However the care of the team had been very good. The ability to have discussions with the manager on my mums daily care plan are always productive and even when times are tough and I feel
how she always finds the time to sit and chat which had been most appreciated and very welcome. Staff always listen to my concerns about mum and I know the team will do their utmost to care for my mum 24/7 which in itself is a great asset. So thank you everyone! I would thoroughly recommend anyone to come to Woodlands if they need a care home. Keep up the good work.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.835)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.835) out of 10 for Woodlands Quaker Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.935 for Woodlands Quaker Home is calculated as follows: ( (101 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.935

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Quaker Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
