The home can house 36 occupants in total and is suitable for many with mobility issues, with good wheelchair access and staff that are trained in increasing the comfort of residents.

Many of the home's rooms have views over the Wye Valley and all residents benefit from the home's own minibus, which takes them often on trips to local tourist attractions and picturesque landscapes.

I have visited my sister many times in the year she has been a resident, I have also phones to speak to the carers about my sister. On each and every occasion I have been struck by the warmth, friendliness, and compassion of everyone towards myself, my family, and most importantly my lovely sister.
I have been involved with a number of residential homes for over 40 years as a GP and I can honestly state that I am so relieved that my sister is in such a caring environment. Thank you all at Ganarew House!

Management and staff of Ganarew House Care Home are absolutely excellent, nothing is too much trouble. Kind, caring and compassionate towards my 95-year-old mother and indeed my whole family. Mum was admitted in January 2024 due to my 96-year-old father breaking his leg, unable to care for her anymore.
Mum has Alzheimer's. She enjoys living here and participates whenever possible in the many activities on offer, bingo, armchair softball, a musical couple who come in with instruments for the residents to ring, rattle and ding along to a whole host of songs, old and new. The food is nice and appetising and is offered to visitors along with morning coffee, afternoon tea/biscuits. Visitors are welcome at any time without appointment which is a plus and as my father and I visit several times a week my sister every 5 weeks as she comes down from another town each time for a long weekend. Cannot fault in any way, all staff try so hard to accommodate many different requests.

My friend has been a resident at Ganarew for the last 2 years. She had been happy and very well cared for. The staff were so friendly with her. When her health began to fail they sat with her and aided when needed.
I can't thank them enough for all their attention.

My mum went into Ganarew House recently for respite and is now a permanent resident. I couldn't be happier with the service they provide. My mum is very happy and settled which is down to the wonderful staff. Nothing is too much for them. There is a great enrichment programme and the food is wonderful.
The rooms are spacious, clean and bright and my mum's room has an en-suite loo as well. It feels like a big family and that makes me very happy.

My grandmother came to Ganarew House in April 2024, and since then we have noticed huge improvements in her mood and general outlook. The staff are always very welcoming, friendly, and approachable and nothing is ever too much hassle. Nan seems to enjoy their company and is very receptive to them. Her
health and hygiene appear to be well-maintained.

My mum has been a resident of Ganarew House since March 2024. She has settled well and appears to be happy. All the staff are professional, lovely and very caring. They really look after my mum well, they engage with her, attend to her needs and are always welcoming and cheerful.

Excellent care provided to our mum throughout her time in Ganarew. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and went to great lengths to care for the residents. Mum's bedroom was cosy and spotlessly clean. Meals were good quality, hot and nicely presented. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.

Mum came to Gabarew House for a month for respite care. She settled in so well that she decided to stay. Whenever we visited, the staff appeared to be happy, fully interacting with residents. Always spotlessly clean, and the food - yummy! Can I book my place now, please?

My mother lives with us, so to put her into respite care is daunting, I thought nobody can care for her like I do. How wrong was I . Mother is welcomed as a member of the family. The manager and the staff team are a family, the interaction between staff and residents is second to none. They work really
hard to motivate, often with lots of humour to engage with each other. I know my mother is content whilst staying at Ganerew House. The staff are very quick to spot signs of poor health and act upon it promptly. There are no smells other than cleanliness. The food is excellent and should you time a visit around a meal time, which incidentally are many, you too would be offered food. When the time comes for Mother to become a permanent resident, I will have no doubts or concerns for her well-being, care or happiness.

Very happy with the care of my father. I do not think I could find a more suitable home in the area to meet his needs. With severe memory loss, he needs a home which offers care with a mental health bias.

A really friendly care home with great staff. The only downside is it could do with a coat of paint in the corridors and the carpets could do with replacing in the main areas. My wife tells me the food is good.

Placed my aunt here after she had lived at home with care visits to support her as long as she was able to. She's been here eighteen months and says she's looked after very well. The staff are good to her, she always look well cared for and tidy.

My Dad has been at Ganarew House for a year now. He went there after a stroke which further increased the dementia he was already experiencing. His anxiety caused by his memory loss was making it hard to cope with him at home. At Ganarew House the routine, the activities and care suit him very well.
He enjoys the food and it certainly smells very good. We are so pleased to have got him a place there. It's good to see all the various themes they have and to enjoy Facebook photos. The staff are professional and caring and I am always made welcome when I go to visit. The care is far beyond what I could offer him and he is thriving there.

My mother is safe, clean, appears happy and well cared for. However, I would benefit from being updated on a fairly regular basis i.e. her daily routine, problems, highlights and medical issues. I feel that I have to be proactive in requesting information regarding my mother's well-being and, in particular,
concerns I have. The home has dealt with issues but I would value closer liaison. Thank you to the carers who support and care for her.

My mother has been in the care home for ten years. In all that time, all the staff have been friendly and caring. Her room has always been clean and tidy and well-kept. Mum has always enjoyed the food and has never gone hungry or thirsty. All the residents look clean and tidy and in clean clothes every
day. There are activities each day which are offered to the residents. The staff contact me as soon as Mum needs further medical attention or to tell me of a change to medication. I am very satisfied with the care which my mum is given.

My mother has been at Ganarew House for several years, Mum is of a great age now. An honest account of Mum's time there is difficult. Suffice to say rather a 'roller coaster' which I guess has been very difficult at times. Mum is looked after by the staff incredibly well, they are kind, caring and dare
I say in this day and age, loving toward her. Mum loves the food, and eats very well. Her room is spotless. Mum is always very clean and in nice clothes when I go to see her, which is most weeks. The staff and I have, I believe, become friends over the years which is really nice for me. To sum up, I obviously worry about Mum, but really I have no need to.

The staff are very kind and thoughtful and work extremely hard. The residents all are well cared for. Lovely to see the themes they do and get residents involved. The food always smells amazing. The home gives a warm and friendly environment, the staff are taking great care of my mum.
