A lovely home where all members of staff care greatly about the residents, their well-being and happiness. There is always a lovely warm welcome and visitors to the home are made to feel part of an extended family.

My mother never wanted to be in a care home, but due to her needs which I could no longer provide, I was left with no alternative but to find a home for her. On the recommendation of a friend, whose own mother was at Holmer, I was fortunate to get a room over two years ago. From day one, the staff made
my mother feel welcome and put her at ease. The care they provide not only to her but to all of the residents allows me to rest easy knowing that mum is in an environment where the utmost respect is given to her by all the staff (from the cooks, cleaners, carers, and managers).


The atmosphere on entering the home is always a positive one with encouragement given to all the elderly residents, when they need it, along with support to those of us who visit. A little humour and a smile goes a long way to make people feel better in all sorts of circumstances and Holmer Court staff do that naturally. For people needing assurances about care homes, then a visit to Holmer Court will provide just that.

Mum was happy and would have a dance with staff. Always activities going on. Since August, Mum's health declined, no longer able to walk. Staff do what they can for Mum and I am glad she is in Holmer Court.

From the first time I stepped into the care home, I was made welcome. I am so pleased my dear friend has chosen to stay here. I was very apprehensive about my Mum entering into a care home as I had looked after her at home for seven years however from the moment we walked in the atmosphere of love and care was clear. I can not praise the staff at Holmer enough there is a fantastic atmosphere and it is an incredibly happy and
vibrant place to visit. Every single member of staff that I have encountered have been caring and knowledgeable and clearly exceptionally good at their job. My Mum was instantly put at ease and settled extremely quickly and was made to feel important and cared for from day one. Holmer Court has totally changed my impression of care homes and I now feel my Mum is in a safe nurturing environment which is so wonderful to see.

Mum came to Holmer Court after a series of hospital admissions, a number of incidents while in receipt of a care at home package and a worsening case of dementia. I was initially worried as to how she would react to being 'put in a home' but as time has passed my fears have proved to be groundless.
The staff are caring and professional and my mum has made new friends and seems to be very happy.

Mum has been resident at Holmer Court since June 23 and has settled in nicely, with the whole team making it a home-from-home for her. All staff are lovely and kind and really care about the residents. Visitors are always made extremely welcome, and we are treated as one big family. The activities
ladies ensure there are daily activities to keep residents entertained and celebrate every special occasion to the fullest. I would not hesitate in recommending this care home.

My mum is having the best of care at Holmer. It's never nice making the decision to have your loved ones cared for but my mum needs more support than I can give and in a safe environment.
The staff here are so incredibly thoughtful, gentle and most importantly patient, as my mum has dementia. I visit
at all hours and they always greet me with a smile. They also provide my mum's partner with support, as he visits every day and is made to feel so
I love the many events they put on, from singing, which the residents love, to dancing, quizzes, and knitting. You regularly hear residents and staff having a giggle. This is why it's a special place!

All the staff at Holmer Court are conscientious which comes from the top and filters down.
Staff keep me informed of any changes in my uncle-in-law's status without any fuss and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are quick to reply to any queries and provide regular updates.
Holmer Court
also arranges many activities which residents seem to really enjoy. I know that my uncle-in-law is in good, safe hands at Homer Court.

This home is the only bit of good luck we have had from my wife's affliction with Alzheimer's. From the very top of the team to the lowest, they treat the residents with respect care and most of all (love) and that spreads right through to the resident's loved ones. Hate to think what would have happened
to me without these amazing people.

We have always had a very good level of communication from the care home. We always receive updates from care plans. The home is really well organised from the management to the care team. I feel very confident that my father-in-law is receiving good supportive care and is stimulated. We can visit whenever
we want and the staff are always welcoming and it feels like a warm and caring place to live.

I was concerned regarding putting my mother on a new drug called memantine. It’s a drug given to Alzheimer's/dementia sufferers! After a month of treatment, I found her to be unsteady on her feet, and low in energy. I also found it difficult to converse with her, she didn’t seem to know who I was. She
didn’t seem to understand what was being said. Unfortunately, the In-Reach team weren’t readily available because of sickness in their team, so the review I asked for was slow. Eventually, I emailed her doctor who fast-tracked a reduction in the memantine dosage. During this process, the manager and the team at Holmer Court were supportive and thoughtful. I said that I didn’t want to lose my mother to the medication rather than the disease. They totally understood and agreed. I’m grateful.

Both Dad and I are new to the care home process and found a home from home with Holmer Court. Dad moved in mid-January and has fitted in very well. All of the staff are incredibly kind and sympathetic, with smiles on their faces and time for everyone. It's a joy to see Dad happy and a joy to visit.

My mum has been in this care home since February 2022. I was extremely impressed with the first year of her stay and didn’t think they could exceed their care any more but they have more than done this, from the domestic staff right up to the manager, every department has gone above and beyond their
duty in my opinion. My beautiful mum is in the late stages of dementia and life and we’ve seen my mum cared for in every stage, the kindness, professionalism, dedication and care they show not just her but me and her family is beyond expectation. If I could give them 100 stars I would. Myself and my siblings and our children (the grandchildren) cannot praise this care home enough. We also see the care and dedication they provide all the residents and it’s heartwarming

Absolutely brilliant care home, the support and love they have not only given my nan but my whole family. My nan went to Holmer Court in February 2022 and has a lovely little room with a massive window and flowers everywhere. It’s very cosy and just like home. My grandad would visit my nan nearly every
day and when we unfortunately lost my grandad in December 2022 the care home went above and beyond with the comfort they gave the whole family during that time. The activities they put on for the residents on a daily basis and brilliant and fun for all! Even the families who come and join in, our favourite is a particular famous singer! My nan is in the later stages of dementia and it’s a very difficult time for us all but Holmer Court have been with us every step of the way and we will be forever grateful. If you are looking for a friendly, family, clean, and fun care home then this is definitely the one for your family member. It is a big family there.

Job Title: Home Manager

When you hear people say “ I love my Job” I am actually one who “ really does love their job” I have been in the care industry for over 20 years and have met so many special people. Working in a residential care home is like being with my extended family and family is what we are all about. We are so lucky to build such special bonds with the people we care for, which extends to their families and friends. The compliment of a family member entrusting us to care for their loved ones is an absolute privilege and we honour this by striving to deliver the excellent care and support they so much deserve.

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Being an Activities Coordinator is about the little things more than the big. The moments in the day when you feel you have made a difference in people’s lives. This might be a conversation where I am told: “You brighten up my day; you are a ray of sunshine; oh good a pink lady they are the ones who can do anything; I know I can tell you as I trust you and you will help me; you know you are my favourite; I love you”.


It might just be a smile, a good morning where for that moment I am a face of comfort. I am a friend, and a family member different to each person but always a person they know and trust. A face of love and contentment that makes my job worthwhile.
The time and effort I put into getting to know each Resident individually so that I become familiar and loved.


Seeing a Resident do something unfamiliar to them such as dance, sing, talk, walk, little milestones rewards me for the input I put in.


It is not just a job it is an extended family that includes the staff. They are my support bubble, and we are there for each other in the good times and bad. Building relationships with the families is also very rewarding being the stopgap to be an ear for any concerns they may have and making them feel welcome into the home. We rally together in times of need and ultimately do our roles to achieve the best possible life for everyone.

I joined Holmer Court in 2016 on a part time basis as a cook and following support from the Manager, Claire and my colleagues, I went to full-time after 12 months.
During this time, I got to know every single resident personally, their likes, dislikes & personalities and the love that is in Holmer Court made me feel like part of a second family.
I’m now the Receptionist and PA to Claire and absolutely love it. Everyone at Holmer Court is amazing and I could not imagine working anywhere else. To be able to be a part of a team providing so much loving care to all our residents makes me feel proud.
