Whitchurch House is a beautiful, calm and comfortable caring environment in which to happily enjoy an active life - a place to call home. It is very different from a lot of care homes and is best visited to fully appreciate why.

Set within its own quiet and well maintained gardens, conveniently situated near Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. The gardens feature a variety of patio areas in which to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, scenery and wild life for which the area is so well known.

They encourage an active and fulfilling lifestyle and every person is treated as an individual. The full time activities co-ordinator arranges a varied programme of activities. Key Care Workers provide care support on a more personal basis to help with daily life. Their four lounge and relaxation areas offer choice and provide meeting places for guests, or perhaps to enjoy a book, watch television, use the Internet, listen to music, have a quiet moment or participate in a variety of organised activities. Whitchurch House offer a variety of room styles and sizes for single occupancy and larger double rooms for couples or those that wish to bring their own furniture. Some of the ground floor rooms have private patio and garden areas. All rooms are individually decorated with the majority having en-suite facilities. Each is well furnished and equipped with a 24 hour call bell system, smoke detectors, flat screen TV and Internet access. They accept private and funded residents (from all local authorities nationally).

We are all so pleased with the care that Dad is receiving and most important of all he is very happy at Whitchurch House. The staff are wonderful, there are lots of activities and they are so friendly and kind. It is such a relief to know that he is so well cared for and enjoying life. Thank you to

My mother is being cared for at Whitchurch House and has been there since Sept 2023. My experience with the staff from the very start of the process was one of utmost professionalism and efficiency. The assessment process was smooth and with respect for our situation at the time. My mother is very happy
there and all the staff are extremely kind and helpful - nothing is too much trouble and everything is done willingly and cheerfully. This is reflected in the tangible reassuring feeling I get when I visit, 3 or 4 times a week. The food is of a very high standard and the entertainment and social activities are amazing. Every effort is made to ensure that residents have a happy time. I would recommend Whitchurch House to anyone looking for residential care.

“Our mother has been a Whitchurch House resident since February 2022 and we have nothing but praise for the Home which met her needs at a time when she was more independent. The staff are very caring as well as being highly professional, and respectful of residents. There is an activities and entertainment
programme run by someone specifically employed to occupy, interest and amuse residents in an upbeat way. The building itself is pleasant with well-decorated bedrooms and communal areas, including a light and airy conservatory where many people spend the day. On a practical level, the food is wholesome and the Home has a good relationship with a local doctor who visits regularly. The house is in rural surroundings, with a beautiful church, some tourist attractions, and riverside walks.


Mom has been incredibly happy at Whitchurch, which has been a blessing in her 90’s and has given our family a lot of joy and ease of mind to witness.

During the last two years, my mother was looked after very well by the staff and carers at Whitchurch House who always had her best interests at heart. She loved the varied activities from craft work to visiting musicians and celebrating special days throughout the year. The family were always made
very welcome and Mum enjoyed trips out with other residents.
Whitchurch House is situated in a beautiful part of the country on a river with walks nearby along the river. Mum enjoyed sitting out in the lovely gardens of Whitchurch and planting her own sunflowers along with other residents.
We feel very lucky that we chose Whitchurch House for Mum.

Whitchurch House is a lovely place to visit. Everyone is so friendly and happy, the staff are always very obliging and nothing is too much trouble for them. The activities are wonderful and they really make a huge effort for all the residents. My friend thoroughly enjoys living there and the care she
receives has made a substantial difference to her life. It's comforting to know there are homes around like Whitchurch House.

I would like to thank all the staff and management at Whitchurch House for the fantastic job they all did during the 16 months my mother was a resident at the home. During her stay, my mother often told me that we could not have found a better place for her care, nor nicer and more considerate staff.
She was treated with compassion and warmth from day one and repeatedly told me she was very happy at the home. The care she received made a huge difference to her well-being. She retained her independence, where that was what she wanted and she was included in the community within the home whenever that suited her too. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were kind, personable, professional and supportive not only to my mother but also to other members of the family when visiting. The team did a great job and I have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending the home and its staff. Neither I nor my mother could fault it.

The team at Whitchurch House have been outstanding over the whole period (7+ years) that my Auntie was a resident. On numerous occasions, the staff went well beyond the call of duty to sort something out or make her stay more enjoyable or fulfilling. Most of them became dear friends, and my Auntie would
chat about what they had been up to and how good they were at their jobs - they were so caring, welcoming and friendly, Whitchurch House never really felt like a Care Home, but rather a very comfortable country house that she felt privileged to live in. The food was also regularly reviewed by my Auntie as excellent - and her health always seemed to benefit from good food which she liked to eat. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the service provided and would recommend it to anyone who has an elderly relative in need of residential care and support.

I cannot praise highly enough the level of care and attention my mother-in-law has had since coming to Whitchurch House, they have transformed her life. She has renewed confidence and regained interest which she had lost while struggling at home. She also has company now and has made new friends which
wasn't an option at her flat. I highly recommend Whitchurch House to anyone looking for care in a homely environment.

My Nan is a resident of Whitchurch House and absolutely loves living there. She was extremely self-sufficient and has been living by herself for many years, therefore when she suggested she was going to move to Whitchurch House, naturally I was worried that she wouldn’t like living elsewhere. Thankfully
my initial fears were quickly put to rest. Nan is so happy there; the staff are very attentive and extremely friendly. Nan has everything she needs and couldn’t be happier. Her caregiver even contacted me prior to her birthday and at Christmas (knowing I work shifts, often extremely unsociable hours) to ask when I would be available for a group Facetime call, so all the family could speak to her. Those small and often overlooked details are what really matter to someone and consequently, I am extremely happy with the care Nan is receiving. Thank you to all the staff at Whitchurch House for all the amazing work you are doing.

My mother-in-law is a resident of Whitchurch House and absolutely loves living there. She is so happy there; she has everything she needs and speaks very highly of all the staff. Her main caregiver arranges Facetime calls which we were able to do over the Christmas period and also on my mother-in-law’s
