Whitchurch House is a beautiful, calm and comfortable caring environment in which to happily enjoy an active life - a place to call home. It is very different from a lot of care homes and is best visited to fully appreciate why.

Set within its own quiet and well maintained gardens, conveniently situated near Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. The gardens feature a variety of patio areas in which to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, scenery and wild life for which the area is so well known.

They encourage an active and fulfilling lifestyle and every person is treated as an individual. The full time activities co-ordinator arranges a varied programme of activities. Key Care Workers provide care support on a more personal basis to help with daily life. Their four lounge and relaxation areas offer choice and provide meeting places for guests, or perhaps to enjoy a book, watch television, use the Internet, listen to music, have a quiet moment or participate in a variety of organised activities. Whitchurch House offer a variety of room styles and sizes for single occupancy and larger double rooms for couples or those that wish to bring their own furniture. Some of the ground floor rooms have private patio and garden areas. All rooms are individually decorated with the majority having en-suite facilities. Each is well furnished and equipped with a 24 hour call bell system, smoke detectors, flat screen TV and Internet access. They accept private and funded residents (from all local authorities nationally).

I can't thank the wonderful staff enough for making my life so much better. I am now here full time after having some respite stays. The care and support I receive in this beautiful home have transformed my life. I no longer struggle to cope and have made many new friends to talk, laugh and enjoy activities
with.

I recently had to move my elderly mother from her own home into Whitchurch House. The move was very traumatic and it took several weeks for her to settle into Whitchurch.
Her initial behaviour pattern was very challenging. For example, she set off fire alarms, visited other resident's rooms, turned
lights off in the corridors and wandered around the home at night.
It is to the great credit of the management at Whitchurch House that they persevered with her, rather than asking the family to move her to another home. After several weeks of patience and good care, she is now a happy and contented old lady.
The atmosphere at Whitchurch House is relaxed and welcoming. The staff are kind and friendly and deliver a high standard of care.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending Whitchurch House.

My Mother was resident at Whitchurch House for a few months last year, from late August until late November.
Initially, we brought her to the home for a look around, to decide on a potential room, to meet staff and for a very professional assessment of Mother's suitability for the home.
Mother chose
a beautiful room with direct access to the garden which she loved.
Although not the easiest person to look after, my Mother was gently persuaded by the staff to be involved in the life of the home, leaving her room for excellent and appetising meals in the dining room as well as taking part in the varied activities in the afternoons.
The staff were particularly caring and efficient when my Mother went through a spell of having to be 'barrier nursed' and latterly, towards the end of her life, she was shown such care and attention neither we nor her G.P. had any qualms about her remaining at Whitchurch House until she passed away.

My grandmother has been at Whitchurch House recently. They have completely transformed her life. She is very well cared for in a lovely environment by wonderful staff who show care and compassion greeting everyone with a smile. I cannot recommend Whitchurch House highly enough to anyone looking for

My Great Aunt has recently moved to Whitchurch House from living independently.
I went to visit in June and was pleasantly surprised by how well she has settled in.
Whitchurch House has a wonderful feel to it, very homely and in no way clinical.
The staff were very welcoming and had a great relationship
with my Aunt, treating her like a person - not another patient.
My Aunt says she loves the food and being able to walk around the gardens.
I am so relieved she has moved to Whitchurch House, as she seems to really enjoy living there.

I regularly visited my sister at Whitchurch House and was always made very welcome from all the staff and managers in this lovely home.
The care and company my sister received made her life so much more bearable. She was very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I have
visited many other homes in Herefordshire and Monmouthshire and Whitchurch House really stands out. The whole atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and comfortable. I would highly recommend Whitchurch House.

I have been visiting my friend at Whitchurch House for some years now. In that time her quality of life had improved dramatically with the help from the wonderful staff and managers. I have visited other homes in the past, but none compare withWhitchurch House. It really does have a homely feel with
lots going on to keep the residents entertained and included. All the staff are very friendly and make everyone very welcome. If I ever needed a care home it would be this one.

My father spent the last year of his life at Whitchurch House. It is a very professionally run care home. The management and owners are excellent. The staff ae all fantastic. there is very little turnover in staff and they go out of their way to spend time talking and listening to the residents. It
has a real homely atmosphere. My father was able to make special requests as to what he would like for breakfast or dinner and these were alway accommodated. My father felt loved and respected whilst living there and thoroughly enjoyed the 12 months he spent at Whitchurch House. I would definitely recommend it to others.

My mother spent the last 14 months of her life here. The home provided her with a comfortable, relaxed and safe environment. She had a lovely room with a lovely view over the countryside and was surrounded by her own pictures and furnishings. They have a beautiful conservatory where the residents could
all sit and join in various activities which were provided. In the summer there were outside tables and chairs in the garden. The staff were super and provided mum with exceptional care and consideration. The open door policy meant we could visit at any time and we always felt welcomed. It was like visiting mum in her own home. I shall miss going there.

I have been extremely pleased with my mothers stay at Whitchurch House. She suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and went to Whitchurch when she could no longer cope at home. From the moment mum arrived the staff at Whitchurch couldn't have been more considerate and caring. There is a warm friendly atmosphere
at the home and no matter when I visited, whether on a weekday or weekend, I was always made welcome and the staff always took time to talk to me despite the difficult times. I will always look back fondly on the time my mum spent at Whitchurch House.

My Aunty is happy, comfortable, well-fed, upbeat and has made numerous good friends amongst the other residents. The staff at Whitchurch are super friendly, efficient and effective at their jobs, and above all they care! My aunt loves the food, and also the ability to be comfortable in her own well
appointed room, where she often retires to for peace and quiet and the tv she wants to watch. Compared to living at home, the Whitchurch team have made a huge difference to her spirit and well being. The family couldn't be happier.

I cannot speak highly enough about Whitchurch House. It scores excellent in every area. The atmosphere is more like a family run hotel than a care home. Being at Whitchurch House has changed my wife's quality of life from 20% to 80%. If ever I need a care home myself, I hope it can be Whitchurch House!
