The team at Brambles are devoted to supporting their residents to live life to the full. They follow Sanctuary Care’s Enriching Lives Framework, based on the six senses people need to feel truly happy and fulfilled – a sense of achievement, belonging, continuity, purpose, security and significance.

For example, one gentleman loved fishing, so recently a member of staff took him on a trip to a fishing lake with his daughter. He was proud as punch to catch five fish, which gave him such a sense of achievement. Another resident has special childhood memories of Studley Castle, so another member of the team took her and a small group of residents there for a special tea.

The team provides residential, dementia and respite care, which can be booked in advance, for example if you care for a loved one at home and would like to take a short break of your own, you can pre-book respite care for your loved one.

Brambles has a very warm, family feel. And there are lots of lovely spaces in the home to enjoy, from the beautiful large gardens, complete with an allotment plot, a summer house and a heated outdoor café pod. The bedrooms have ensuite walk in wet rooms and there is a hair salon, for regular appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

There are so many activities to enjoy, including gardening, regular visits from local school children, baking, knitting and book clubs, interactive games on the giant tablet and pampering sessions. There are plenty of trips out into the community, whether visiting a local garden centre or enjoying a pub lunch.

Residents enjoy home-cooked meals in the dining room every day, as well as freshly baked cakes with afternoon tea.

Overall, our mother is taken care of very well. The staff are always friendly and helps whenever needed. Reception staff are always helpful and informative. We're so glad we know she is well looked after.

I became a resident here in July of this year. I realised I could no longer look after myself so a care home was the sensible option. I did not expect to like it but in fact, I am very happy in my new home, having been made to feel welcome and all my needs have been met by a wonderful team of carers
who really care!

My mother in law has been a resident for 6 years; in June she entered into end of life care. She was treated with excellent physical care, her dignity and medical needs were met with compassion and efficiency throughout. We, as a family were thoroughly supported, informed and cared about during this
very difficult and distressing time. Every member of staff showed regard for our needs, from office, ancillary and caring staff , thus we feel she was cared for in every sense of the word. Her subsequent passing was dealt with so kindly it made a very difficult time bearable. Her funeral was marked by staff when we followed the hearse to see staff and residents paying their respects outside the home. Truly a family in every sense of the word. We thank them all.

The staff at Brambles Residential Care Home in Redditch have been superb in their care of my Mum, including her end of life care recently. They not only care about their residents but the family as well. Our Mum spent 6 years at the Brambles Residential Care Home, and their care and attention to detail

I visited my aunt from 15th to 28th June, and I would like to thank the Brambles manager for making this concession as we had a lot to do to tie up her affairs in the former house and take her some of her possessions from home to make her room feel more familiar. It was also lovely to see her each day
as I will only visit Redditch maybe every 3 months. Your staff were very friendly, accommodating, cheerful, and efficient, and I thank them for being so very welcoming. I was very impressed by the caring, and kindness of every one of the carers, and a special mention for the younger members of your staff, the patience, and caring to those they take care of is heartwarming to see. A younger generation making us all feel proud. You all do a great job in very difficult circumstances anyway, but with the current restrictions because of covid-19, your staff handle these challenges amazingly.

My father went into the Brambles in October 2019. Luckily he had time to make it feel like home before the pandemic struck so he was quite happy to be locked down there.
The staff are amazing he always says they are all lovely and he has never complained about anything not even the food. In fact he
loves the food even though he can’t remember what he’s eaten an hour after the meal!
My father is ex army and has formed a very close bond with a senior carer who is also ex army. Recently this carer has arranged for my father’s medals to be cleaned and mounted. When he got them back he presented them to my dad in the lounge making my dad feel very special. We of course paid for this but the carer said initially he would pay for them himself!
It’s never easy having to place a relative in care but our decision to use The Brambles is the best one we could have made he is having a lovely winter of his life.

My dad was looked after on the top floor of the Brambles Care home for 5 years. I say looked after - what I mean is that he was cared for and loved by the staff. Dad had vascular dementia and after having had a number of respite stays previous to him moving there we could not have wished for a better
home for him. Not only was Dad cared for but when we visited we were made to feel very welcome too. Pre-Covid there were events and fetes put on for the residents and their families which made you feel like you were a part of a very big/extended family. We will be forever grateful to the staff, the residents and the other residents' families for being a part of our lives these past 5 years. Dad sadly passed away but we know we can call and have a chat to the staff who spent so much time with Dad and gain some comfort from knowing they knew him in his final years. I would have no hesitation on recommending this home for your loved ones based on our experience.

My grandmother has lived at Brambles Residential Care Home for over two years, moving from residential care to dementia care. As her needs have changed, the amazing team have adapted with her. While it has been sad to see her change as a person, it's been so reassuring that Brambles have been there
- keeping her safe and happy. They sing with her and make her smile every day. The team also support the family as well - especially throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. They have been sending us newsletters, making knitted hearts and personalised Christmas cards, while also supporting my dad to visit in person, with Covid-secure visiting options. It's all so safe and while we never thought we would live through a pandemic when she moved in, we are so pleased she has been at the Brambles throughout. I would recommend Brambles to everyone - the staff are just amazing. They've worked tirelessly throughout 2020 - the home, the team and the activities are perfect.

My mum has been a resident at The Brambles for 4 years and has been very happy and contented there. The recent COVID crisis has shown just how well run and caring this home is. While maintaining a safe environment for all the residents; they have also created activities to keep moral up.
When they
were able to do so the weekly visits (socially distance) were well managed and welcoming.
Whenever I have contacted the home there is always a warm welcome, time to discuss any concerns or queries. The admin/reception team are always very helpful and patient.
This home does meet Sanctuary Care's tag line: "Keeping Kindness at the heart of our care".

Impossible to fault the standard of care. The staff are attentive, caring, helpful and always have a sunny disposition. The home communicates with relatives fully. The accommodation is comfortable, spacious and kept properly clean. The food is much enjoyed, varied and plentiful. Snacks and drinks are
readily and regularly provided. Entertainment and outings are plentiful, albeit that my mother is not inclined to participate. The home has also managed the coronavirus outbreak extremely well. We have absolutely no complaints and would unhesitatingly recommend this care home.

My mother became a resident during the coronavirus outbreak, which made visiting impossible to start with. I kept in touch via phone calls with her and had reports from staff. The carers and admin staff have always been helpful and advised when items are needed. I have rated as best I can in the circumstances,
having not yet been able to visit my mother inside the home or in her room.

Activities at home are good, but as Mum has hearing and poor close sight she finds it hard to join in. She could do with more hands-on help. Cannot fault any of the staff/carers. They have worked their socks off to keep everybody safe. I am so proud of them for what they coped with and put themselves

My mother entered the care home in February 2020. Since then I have been extremely pleased with the care given to my mother. All staff have been polite and professional in their duties and have accommodated family visits efficiently during the virus pandemic. The facilities are clean, tidy and well

My wife has been a resident at The Brambles in excess of 7 years - due to Alzheimer's.
When she first arrived the Brambles was a homely, pleasant environment. But in recent times has been redecorated and changed to look more clinical. Such a shame because the staff and standards of care are second
to none but the environment now spoils the efforts of the staff. Also, the "new" furniture seems difficult to keep clean and is often dirty.

Andy has been a home manager with Sanctuary Care since 2012 and tells us what his role means to him.


I enjoy coming to work every day at the Brambles - the home has a lovely community feel and we all come here with a smile on our faces.


I have two parents in their 80s - one of them lives with dementia and one with kidney disease, so for me I'm always thinking about how healthcare needs to be both now and in the future, to continue to enrich the lives of our older generation.
