The team at Brambles are devoted to supporting their residents to live life to the full. They follow Sanctuary Care’s Enriching Lives Framework, based on the six senses people need to feel truly happy and fulfilled – a sense of achievement, belonging, continuity, purpose, security and significance.

For example, one gentleman loved fishing, so recently a member of staff took him on a trip to a fishing lake with his daughter. He was proud as punch to catch five fish, which gave him such a sense of achievement. Another resident has special childhood memories of Studley Castle, so another member of the team took her and a small group of residents there for a special tea.

The team provides residential, dementia and respite care, which can be booked in advance, for example if you care for a loved one at home and would like to take a short break of your own, you can pre-book respite care for your loved one.

Brambles has a very warm, family feel. And there are lots of lovely spaces in the home to enjoy, from the beautiful large gardens, complete with an allotment plot, a summer house and a heated outdoor café pod. The bedrooms have ensuite walk in wet rooms and there is a hair salon, for regular appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

There are so many activities to enjoy, including gardening, regular visits from local school children, baking, knitting and book clubs, interactive games on the giant tablet and pampering sessions. There are plenty of trips out into the community, whether visiting a local garden centre or enjoying a pub lunch.

Residents enjoy home-cooked meals in the dining room every day, as well as freshly baked cakes with afternoon tea.

Proof of the pudding is that my Mother-in-Law is thriving and very happy with all aspects of her care. My personal experience is of pleasant friendly staff. The building is in attractive surroundings, modern and well-maintained.

Very caring, knowledgeable staff. They took the time to get to know Mum. Care was very personal to her.
Mum could barely stand when she arrived six weeks ago. Now thanks to the hard work of the physio she is walking again.

Realising how ill I was my relatives looked for local care homes who offer 24/7 cover. Research came up with the highly recommended home in which I now reside, steady work by the staff developed my ability to walk unaided, dress, take care of personal hygiene, partake in gentle exercise and improve
my confidence. The home offered access to services such as opticians, hairdressers, chiropodists which I have used is close to the local hospital "follow up" treatments has proved useful.

My stepmum moved into the Brambles in May 2017 approx. I find the manager and all the girls/lads very helpful. If I want anything doing for my stepmother I find them most helpful and they make you feel at home.

I found this a very pleasant experience, especially the ability to go out and about in the garden, as I am usually an outdoor person.
The care available was very comforting and extremely efficient.
I would especially mention the manager, who runs a good 'tight ship' keeping everything well under

Excellent care home. Comfortable and attractive en-suite rooms. Spacious corridors. Lovely lounges and dining areas. Plenty of space to move around. Clean, light and airy.
Super staff. Residents treated with respect, warmth and care.
Problems dealt with efficiently and promptly.

I can honestly say that my aunt's stay at Brambles Residential Care Home was wonderful.
The staff are both courteous and professional. Caring too.
My aunt was always clean whenever I visited and it was at different times during the day.

My mum has been here four years and her care has always been very good. She is probably one of their more difficult residents as she refuses to join in. She complains to me but in conversation with her carers, is seems unfounded. They are working hard to get her out of her room and after all these years
seem to have at last succeeded! Well done!

The residents were having a lovely time playing skittles today. They were clapping and joining in the fun.

Since coming here we as a family have noticed how well she is settling into her surroundings. Her anxiety has become less, she has also come to terms with where she lives and seems to have a lot more peace of mind which as a family, was our main concern.
If and when we may have concerns ie healthwise
we can approach the staff, with the knowledge that something will be done. We as a family find that comforting and thank you for that.

Mo mother came into the home after breaking her hip. The first month was difficult but staff encouraged her to get up and about. For 6 months she had a lovely time, making friends and really enjoying life again. Sadly she was diagnosed with aggressive cancer 4 weeks ago. The staff were brilliant in
their care for these last weeks making her as comfortable as possible during the time. I couldn't fault them at all in the care they gave her.

When mom first went into Brambles Residential Care Home she has been diagnosed with dementia 2 years before and had just left hospital after having pneumonia which she nearly died from so when she went into Brambles Residential Care Home she was still recovering and was still quite poorly but thanks
to the staff she slowly got better and now 2 1/2 years later she is physically healthy and loves her life in Brambles. This year she celebrated her 90th birthday I can't thank the staff enough for putting the life back into mom and the sparkle back in her eyes.

Job Title: Home Manager

Andy has been a home manager with Sanctuary Care since 2012 and tells us what his role means to him.


I enjoy coming to work every day at the Brambles - the home has a lovely community feel and we all come here with a smile on our faces.


I have two parents in their 80s - one of them lives with dementia and one with kidney disease, so for me I'm always thinking about how healthcare needs to be both now and in the future, to continue to enrich the lives of our older generation.
