Providing residential and dementia care, the home has launched its beautiful eight-bed Mulberry Suite offering respite care breaks, which can be pre-booked up to six months ahead. This unique service means that family carers can have some ‘me time’, whilst their loved one is being cared for in wonderful surroundings. The suite has beautifully decorated bedrooms with ensuite wet rooms, a communal lounge and dining area, kitchenette and a quiet study area.

And person-centred day care sessions are also provided on Tuesdays and Thursdays (9.30am to 4.30pm). These sessions include fabulous activities, a delicious lunch and afternoon tea and refreshments.

The gardens at Breme are a beautiful space for the residents to grow their own fruit and veg, which they pick for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of achievement.

There are visits from local nursery children and volunteers, a local vicar who holds religious services, animal visits, pamper sessions, weekly community coffee mornings, live music, baking, fitness classes and so much more! There is also a minibus, for regular day trips. The home also has fantastic links with Bromsgrove Library, keeping the residents regularly supplied with reading materials!

The beautiful gardens are perfect for summer picnics, parties and relaxing with family and friends, who are welcome to visit at any time. The home also has its own private Facebook group, so loved ones can stay connected and see what the residents are enjoying, even if they can’t be there that day.

Breme has beautiful bedrooms, with ensuite wet rooms, several of which have patio access to the gardens. There is also a salon, for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

There are lovely lounge areas and dining rooms, where residents enjoy delicious, home-cooked food and home-baked treats for afternoon tea. The residents also enjoy regular cheese and wine nights.

Care is very inconsistent. My Mother stays in her room so is often forgotten. For example, she has a weekly hair appointment but sometimes they don't come to fetch her to go. The other day she didn't get any breakfast, she was asked what she wanted but they didn't come back with it and it wasn't until
they came round with her tablets that it was realised. She doesn't always get what she has asked for and I have seen food dished up which looks like its leftovers slopped out. She should get a cup and saucer and teapot but that doesn't always happen.
I am very angry at the rise of £50 per week as I don't see why she should pay to subsidise council paying residents. Training, I should think in this care home, is minimal and the matter of kindness needs to be rethought.

It saddens me to read these comments as when I speak to your mother she does not pass on these concerns. Some residents prefer to spend time in their rooms rather than socialise with their fellow residents and we need to respect their choices - that doesn’t mean they are forgotten and we constantly visit their rooms to have a chat, do individual activities if they wish, and of course meet any care needs they have. For approximately a decade my mother, now 99, has attended Breme Care Home in Bromsgrove. The staff are aware of her needs, are supportive and reassure her. During the periods of respite, I know my mum will be well looked after and I am able to have a break from the intensive caring responsibilities
at the family home in Redditch. This review is submitted with thanks.

Since my mum has been a resident at Breme she has been extremely happy and settled. The staff who care for her treat her with the utmost respect like they would there own mum. Losing her independence had been difficult for my mum but Breme have helped her immensely.

This is a good home, however, I feel that floors are often understaffed. I also feel that meals could be more geared to what they would be used to at home which was a cooked meal in the evenings rather than at lunchtime.

Breme is perfect for my mother, her own space when she wants as she is a private person. The staff all seem to care and have a good attitude to the residents and are friendly. It's recently been refurbished and is clean and modern. It has the feel of a "bed and breakfast" with care rather than an "old
people's home" I'm so glad I found this place, it puts my mind at rest that my mother is safe and well cared for.

My family and I are extremely happy with the care and support given to not only our Mom but us too. Bream House is a clean, bright and happy environment. The staff are always cheerful, caring and they treat residents with dignity, they try hard to encourage independence although not always accepted
or welcomed. They treat all visitors with respect, welcome input on Moms care, we get constant feedback on her progress, listen to our concerns with empathy and understanding. Activities are ongoing and key calendar dates are celebrated, we have nothing but praise for Bream's staff.

Breme Residential Care Home is best of its class in Worcestershire. The staff are very kind my mom could not get any better care than if she was in a nursing home. The staff work very hard keeping the home clean and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are lovely with their own bathroom and everyone
is treated with dignity value for money and is excellent I can really recommend Breme no doubt in my mind 5 star rating best home in the area

Mum seems happy and cared for. I wonder sometimes if Dad didn't come most lunchtimes if Mum would be fed as diligently i.e. I am not sure if the staff would encourage and help her enough. They are happy to respond to any requests for help and are good with Mum. There doesn't seem to be much stimulus,
although for Mum this would be difficult and possibly inappropriate but for those more able, there seems to be very few activities despite the list on the board suggesting there are.
