My aunty was a resident at Parklands Care Home for 8 years. She was cared for with kindness and dignity. Parklands work hard at providing activities and experiences for the residents and pay attention to each individual needs. They communicated well with me and kept me well-informed. I felt like part
of their family. My aunty was loved and cared for by the staff until the end of her life.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is reassuring to know that you were happy with the care that your aunt received whilst at Parklands for the past 8 years. It was a pleasure to look after her. It is always encouraging to hear that we are providing high-quality care in a homely, caring environment.

Our elderly cousin has been a resident at Parklands Care Home since February 2023 following a fall at home. Initially, we were very concerned that losing her independence would mean she would not thrive but on the contrary, she has gone from strength to strength.
She is extremely well looked after
by the wonderful staff and we are particularly impressed with the constant health checks she receives. She particularly likes the food and the constant treats she receives on a daily basis.
Our decision to send her to Parklands has been validated by her saying recently: "This is now my home!"
In our view there cannot be any greater recommendation.

My mother has been at Parklands now for nearly five years. The staff are so friendly and have a deep understanding of their residents. I could not have picked a better home. My mother is happy and very well cared for.

Over a period of two and a half years that my mother resided at Parklands Care Home she regarded the home as a safe and secure environment in which to live. Despite being visually impaired and having hearing difficulties the staff were caring and considerate towards her needs. Whenever possible they
encouraged mom to participate in activities and to socialize with other residents. She particularly enjoyed singing with the vocalist who visited the home regularly.
The sensitivity and kindness my sister and I witnessed during our mothers last few days was exemplary and something that we will always be grateful for. Thank you.

We really appreciate the care and dignity our mum was shown in the three years she was at Parklands. The manager and her staff went above and beyond to care for our mum and to make sure all her needs were met. Thank you.

Parklands Care home is very much home to the residents, and Mum was very settled and happy there. She was cared for with compassion and kindness. When her dementia worsened, she was bedridden and received end of life care, which we could not fault. The staff took it in turns to sit with her so that
she wasn't spending endless hours on her own. This was a great comfort to my sister and myself.
Before Covid, I used to enjoy sitting in the lounge with her. There was a lady who came regularly to sing with the residents, which was lovely, as Mum really enjoyed singing. Another who came in to play games. They used to paint together and bake.
We weren't allowed to join in with Mum's 90th birthday celebrations during the lockdown, but Parklands made it really special for her. They made her the most beautiful cake for her special birthday tea.
It was very comforting to know that she was kept safe and well. I would really recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a friend or relative.

My father lived at Parklands for a short while at the end of 2020 when he was no longer able to cope with living alone and feeling lonely. The staff were caring and supportive right from the start, both to my father and to the rest of the family at what was a difficult time. We cannot fault the care
he received during two weeks of isolation and afterwards when he was able to socialise. They gave him the best Christmas with lots of company and fun; we are so glad his last Christmas was a happy one. He looked forward to 2021 there but, unfortunately, didn't have long before he became ill!

A very friendly, caring and professionally run home and group of staff. They have helped my elderly mother settle in very quickly and extremely well. The range of activities arranged for the residents throughout the week are stimulating and provide real opportunities for the residents to socialise with
one another. The rooms are clean and tidy and the home itself is situated in the Worcester Countryside with wonderful grounds and panoramic views of the Malvern Hills. I would have no hesitation in recommending Parklands Care Home to others.

Everything at Parklands suits my mother's needs and wellbeing very well. The care and personal attention of the staff, the friendly atmosphere and the quietly professional way the home is run could not be better. Parklands has a homely feel which I think greatly benefits the residents. The staff are
kind and go out of their way to please. My mother is so well cared for and this gives my family and me great comfort and peace of mind.

The lady I visit has been a family friend for many years, she has settled into the home very well. She has a lovely room upstairs, with lovely views, she has three good meals a day and plenty of choice each day. The staff are very good, but they don't seem to stay long, which is a shame as the residents
get to know them then they go. They are doing some work on the gardens this year, so that will be nice for residents to sit outside. They have started to do more activities for residents which is good as otherwise all they do is watch TV and go to sleep. It is a very good home, I love going there, I'm always made to feel welcome.

Although there was a period of time where staff turnround was high, this has now settled over the past 2 months.

Mom has been at Parklands for two and a half years now. She has dementia and needs 24/7 care. She has her own lovely homely room with several pieces of furniture from her home in it. She has her own private toilet and washing facilities.
It is always clean and fresh and bedclothes are changed regularly.
I visit 2 - 3 times a week and take mom out in a wheel chair when ever the weather is ok.
This does not cause any problems as mom can come and go as she wants to, there are no restrictions.

There are two lounges, a quite lounge that mom likes and a larger activities lounge . There always seems to be adequate staffing . They have extensive grounds that are accessible in the summer to sit in with residents.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.937)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.937) out of 10 for Parklands Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.872 for Parklands Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (41 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 47 Ratings = 4.872

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.065 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Parklands Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.8 = 0.69

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
