The team at Regent are what makes this home stand out. They are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents with fabulous experiences and activities.

From gardening in the home’s allotment, visits from local school children, to trips out in the minibus to all sorts of attractions, from an animal petting farm and the Black Country Living Museum to the beach at Weston-Super-Mare, there is so much to do.

The residents enjoy regular visits from pet therapy dog Dusty, as well as lots of other animals, including guinea pigs. There is so much entertainment, from magicians to singers. And chair yoga is one of many gentle exercises the residents enjoy.

As well as providing residential and dementia care, Regent also offers pre-bookable respite care breaks, which are ideal for carers who would like a short break themselves, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

The residents recently had front row seat when two of the staff recreated their wedding in the home, because they couldn’t invite everyone to their big day. They wore their wedding attire, read their vows and cut the cake all over again, so their residents could be there with them!

The team are passionate about enriching their residents’ lives and supporting them to have a very active role to play in how their home is run. For example, there is a resident ambassador, who helps new residents to settle into the home, as well as supporting with staff interviews.

The home itself has a warm family feel, with lots of lovely areas to enjoy. There are lots of lounge and dining areas, and a hairdresser visits twice a week for appointments in the salon.

The gardens are stunning, with a water feature and an allotment plot, where the residents love growing produce to use in the kitchens, where delicious home-cooked food is prepared by the chef. Many of the bedrooms, which have ensuite bathrooms, have patio doors leading to the gardens.

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at The Regent Residential Care Home in St Johns Worcester. Mum stayed for a week's respite and her family were extremely relieved to find such a caring, compassionate and comfortable care home. From the minute we arrived, we were treated with
great consideration and warmth and were made to feel at home.
Mum was smiling when we arrived to pick her up a week later and said she had enjoyed her stay - lovely to hear. Thank you again and we will be back!

My husband is disabled (with poor memory) so I am describing what I experienced as an onlooker. I was very happy to leave him for a week for respite. The staff are really good and kind and he settled in quite quickly. This, to me, means the care home lived up to its name - a really caring home.

My Mum was resident for 2 years and died peacefully in her sleep at Regent. In all the time she was there all of the staff were very kind, helpful and attentive. Their end of life care was very sensitive and supportive and the key thing is that I felt the staff treated Mum as if she was one of their
own family, not just another patient/resident. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Regent.

My impressions on my first visit have been very good. My brother seems as happy as I've known him for my last few visits to see him (I live in Scotland). The staff were cheerful and I witnessed the care given to him and others during my visit. I would imagine this sympathetic and gentle care would improve
anyone's life and make it more pleasant to live. I've enjoyed my visit, it definitely confirmed the impression given by others.

Mum was ill recently and the team couldn't have done more to ensure her return to goodish health. Although, at other times the team are always friendly and willing to answer any queries and help as much as they can.
Mum doesn't like being in a care home but she says the staff are all lovely to her,
she doesn't know what she'd do without them.

I used to have a phobia of care homes until my dad came to the Regent in March 2019. I really love coming into this wonderful place. I never thought that I would be saying that about a care home.
The staff are amazing, they have made dad so welcome from the moment he walked in. And the support and
honesty that they show us as family is so refreshing.
Dad is happy, safe and well looked after and the staff understand his needs.
So so happy that dad is at the Regent. Thank you to all the staff. Amazing!

Despite being at Regent House for respite care, a fast and rapid decline in health meant that my Mum now needs continuing care for the end of her life. It is a great relief to all the family that she is able to stay in the home where she is comfortable and feels safe. All the staff have been straightforward
and easy to deal with, even when it is emotionally difficult when forming her end of life care plan.

I have been extremely impressed with the quality of care and kindness and attention of staff to my Mother's needs since she became a resident in November 2016.
During that period her mobility, mental capability and physical needs have changed and the staff have reacted to all these and changed the
care appropriately.
I was particularly impressed recently when my Mother required a visit to hospital after a fall. They contacted me immediately so that I could be with Mother during her visit and all the transportation to and from the hospital was arranged by them. After her return to the home the staff rang me the following day to report on her condition and when I visited her she was relaxed and happy, despite having her arm in a sling.
The home's policy and practice of communication with relatives when incidents occur, which inevitably they will, is reassuring for the relatives but not overburdening.
I am extremely happy with the provision of care at Regent.

My wife, who suffers from dementia, has been going to this care home for a week's Respite Care for a week every one or two months. The Staff now greet her as an old friend and she is pleased to see them. The staff are very caring and so helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

My mother was six years a resident at Regent House. During all this time my mother was cared for by staff in a professional manner. In the last few months of her life when she was obviously failing, the attention and care she received was increased to her needs and was exemplary. I was also kept informed
at all times. I could not have asked for better and kinder care.

The staff are caring and conscientious. The home is well managed, through records are regularly updated. As a relative, I am regularly informed of my mother's condition and they manage all hospital appointments. In addition, a GP visits every Monday and Friday. It is clearly a vocation for most of the
staff and they should be applauded.

Our mother has spent the last 18 months in Regent Care Home - what was initially intended to be a short stay following a period in hospital turned into an extended stay for various reasons. Throughout her time there the staff have been unfailingly kind and supportive to her and the rest of the family
and done all that they can to make her happy. They responded efficiently and effectively the couple of times that she was ill and took every action to ensure her safety. They have communicated well with the family about her health and wellbeing, and at all times we have been confident that they have had her best interests at heart. Our mother is in the process of returning to her own home with support, and the staff have been very positive about this move. Although my mother wasn't happy to have to be in a care home, she has herself acknowledged the kindness of the staff.

Overall good, greeted well in reception and taken to our aunt's area. I noticed a lot of flakes of dry skin on floor of her bedroom when I left some treats and at 10.30 even though I had mentioned to the cleaner that the room was vacant as we were taking her to coffee morning it was still there at 12.30.
Toilet had been cleaned but feel that it would benefit from a deep clean. (Corners mucky) We were surprised that there wasn't a home wheelchair to use to assist my aunt down to coffee. A visitor kindly lent us her mums so we could take her round the grounds.

From the first day my mother arrived at Regent House, I could tell she was in safe hands. All the staff in all the various positions they held were extremely friendly and professional. My mother was a resident for about three and a half years. She had Alzheimers which take a very special understanding
and caring person to deal with. The carers at Regent House are the kindest group of people I have ever met in my life. When the end came the love and care my mother and I was given was incredible. It got me through a very difficult day.

Staff attention to the detailed needs both physically and emotionally for my mother-in-law has been superb. I’ve worked in adult health and social care since 2001, and over recent years I’ve managed services for people with autism and learning disabilities.

I thoroughly enjoy my role at Regent, making a positive difference to our lovely residents' lives and supporting their families during the decision process of placing their loved ones into a care home.

When you meet activities coordinator Helen, she exudes so much energy and passion it’s easy to see why she’s stayed at Regent Residential Care Home in Worcester for 13 years.


“I absolutely love it,” she says. “It’s arriving in the morning and seeing the residents’ faces light up as they say ‘what are we going to do today?”


For Helen, the most important part of her role is knowing she is enriching the lives of her residents every day.
