The team at Regent are what makes this home stand out. They are passionate about enriching the lives of their residents with fabulous experiences and activities.

From gardening in the home’s allotment, visits from local school children, to trips out in the minibus to all sorts of attractions, from an animal petting farm and the Black Country Living Museum to the beach at Weston-Super-Mare, there is so much to do.

The residents enjoy regular visits from pet therapy dog Dusty, as well as lots of other animals, including guinea pigs. There is so much entertainment, from magicians to singers. And chair yoga is one of many gentle exercises the residents enjoy.

As well as providing residential and dementia care, Regent also offers pre-bookable respite care breaks, which are ideal for carers who would like a short break themselves, knowing their loved one is in safe hands.

The residents recently had front row seat when two of the staff recreated their wedding in the home, because they couldn’t invite everyone to their big day. They wore their wedding attire, read their vows and cut the cake all over again, so their residents could be there with them!

The team are passionate about enriching their residents’ lives and supporting them to have a very active role to play in how their home is run. For example, there is a resident ambassador, who helps new residents to settle into the home, as well as supporting with staff interviews.

The home itself has a warm family feel, with lots of lovely areas to enjoy. There are lots of lounge and dining areas, and a hairdresser visits twice a week for appointments in the salon.

The gardens are stunning, with a water feature and an allotment plot, where the residents love growing produce to use in the kitchens, where delicious home-cooked food is prepared by the chef. Many of the bedrooms, which have ensuite bathrooms, have patio doors leading to the gardens.

Throughout December it was nice to see a selection of different activities and events going on at Regent. There was a good atmosphere, all the residents in good spirits.

Sanctuary Care’s core value is about enriching lives, and this is a value I share. I’m passionate about providing a stable, caring and responsive environment for the people we support, as well as enabling residents to be the best versions of themselves.


I’ve worked in adult health and social care since 2001, and over recent years I’ve managed services for people with autism and learning disabilities.


Joining Sanctuary Care has given me a new and exciting challenge, one that I’m hugely enjoying.

I began my career working in retail management and it wasn't until 2003 when my mother passed away from cancer, I decided a complete career change and embarked on my journey in care.
I thoroughly enjoy my role at Regent, making a positive difference to our lovely residents' lives and supporting their families during the decision process of placing their loved ones into a care home.
Working at Regent is like having an extended family and we have an amazing team to enrich our residents' lives.

When you meet activities coordinator Helen, she exudes so much energy and passion it’s easy to see why she’s stayed at Regent Residential Care Home in Worcester for 13 years.


“I absolutely love it,” she says. “It’s arriving in the morning and seeing the residents’ faces light up as they say ‘what are we going to do today?”


For Helen, the most important part of her role is knowing she is enriching the lives of her residents every day.


She says: “I love that when I go home, I know I have made a difference in someone’s life. Whether that’s compassion and being there, having fun or helping someone to do something they thought they couldn’t do, the feeling is incredible!”
