Tunstall Hall is a Residential Care Home for older people and is located on the outskirts of the Shropshire town of Market Drayton.

Once a Georgian country home for the Broughton-Adley family, Tunstall Hall is built in three and a half acres of grounds surrounded by mature parkland.

The striking galleried entrance hall and lounge at the heart of the home is a favourite area for residents to sit and chat and the large lounge, once a ballroom, has a beautiful ornate ceiling and uninterrupted views across the garden and farmland.

The home has 31 single bedrooms and four have en-suite bathroom facilities. Modern equipment and facilities ensure the health and safety of residents who have restricted mobility.

A dedicated activities coordinator organises group and individual activity programmes including board games, indoor gardening, flower arranging, painting and sing-a-longs. Residents also enjoy day trips and visits, with Cadburyworld in Birmingham proving a particular favourite.

When you enter Tunstall Hall you notice immediately the calm atmosphere and lack of smell of urine which often hits you when entering a home. It is a happy, caring environment with amazing staff who know how to handle difficult residents in a calm and gentle way. There is always humour and a peaceful
feeling, no matter what the staff have to deal with. There are plenty of activities and food standards are excellent.

Mum has been at Tunstall since January 2022 and I and the family are so grateful for the love and care given not only to Mum but all the residents. In particular the deputy manager is amazing and outstanding with the residents as we have witnessed on many occasions. She is so dedicated and brings fun
and laughter to the home even when in a difficult situation. We couldn't wish for a better place for Mum to be in. Thank you to everyone at Tunstall Hall for keeping Mum in a safe, clean and happy environment.

All staff are doing a fantastic job for all clients at the home - excellent standard. Tunstall Hall Care Centre is a welcoming home, with smiling faces opening the doors. All staff appear happy at work and always have time to answer any questions or help if needed. The assessment of care packages are
excellent and the senior staff/managers ensure relatives are included and informed of the management of care and of any changes. Rooms are kept clean, neat and tidy. Ensuite is invaluable. All diets are catered for - all staff are very knowledgable i.e. diets. Activites are very good - and reflect important diary dates. Safety and security taken seriously. Medical care excellent - doctors as required. Excellent value for money.

Firstly Tunstall Hall Care Centre is a natural stately home which lends itself to rooms with plenty of space so residents and relatives can interact in private if need be.

My mum came to Tunstall Hall in November 2023. It took her a while to settle but I could not have asked for nicer staff to take care of her. All the staff are friendly and caring and work hard. The hall gets decorated when there are special occasions like Easter, Halloween, Christmas etc, they have
birthday parties for the residents and bake them a birthday cake which is a lovely gesture. The food is of a very good standard the meals always look very appetizing. The Hall is always kept clean and tidy and so is my mum. It was a really hard decision putting my mum in a care home, I wanted Mum to go somewhere homely and Tunstall Hall has been the perfect choice. Thank you to all the staff for taking such good care of my mum and putting my mind at rest that she is looked after so well. I would definitely recommend this care home.

My father came into Tunstall Care home in early April. The staff and management are all very friendly and do an absolutely fantastic job. His needs are met with great respect, I would not hesitate to recommend this care home. He does most activities and participates in things that he likes to do. He
has a very good appetite and simply loves his food. His hygiene is excellent. Always looks clean and shaved. The home is very clean and his room is lovely and comfortable. A fantastic care home. And I have no issues at all.

Tunstall care home is run by amazing staff. They are all very professional in the roles that they play in making the care home run smoothly. The care staff went above and beyond to ensure my cousin experienced a peaceful death in a place of his choosing. In addition they supported and cared for his sister who is also a resident. The standard of care and the compassion showed was excellent and the family cannot thank them enough. They now

My mother-in-law was in Tunstall Hall for just over two years until she passed in March 2024. During that time the care she received was wonderful. The staff were so kind and considerate - she was made to feel special. Staff took time to find out her interests and family and would talk to her about
things that she could relate to. As she became more frail they took great care in looking after her, reading her favourite poems to her, and treating her with respect and dignity. They prepared us for her passing and always kept us informed. I can only hope I have such care at the end of my life.

My friend has been in the care of Tunstall Hall since September 2023. All the staff have been wonderful in making my friend feel at home. "It's not easy for them". They have gone along with his wishes and have really got to know his background. This was very apparent when he was unexpectedly blue-lighted
to the hospital. The ambulance crew told me how impressed they have been with the home's knowledge of his history.

My nan started her journey at Tunstall Hall Care Centre on 1st December 2023, where she stayed in the bungalow - excellent rooms, equipment and amenities. Staff always made her feel welcome, offered food/drinks/entertainment. If every buzzer was called, immediate response. Staff also would travel into
town to collect medication to ensure Nan was not in pain. Upon moving into the main hall, she required more TLC, more medication. At no point were we asked to leave, we were always updated on the progress and also offered a hot cuppa! 100% recommend and very grateful to all staff in Nan's final weeks.

I first came into the care sector at the age of 20 due to wanting to try a different avenue of work as I had previously worked in the mental health sector before elderly care. After working here for a while, I learnt about how small things can make a huge difference in someone’s life and after hearing some of the residents life stories and experiences, it opened my eyes into how it is a privilege to help and support others.


I love my job, as I enjoy helping others, supporting the hard working staff team and being able to make every day, a good day. I came into the care sector initially so that I could work and also be present to raise my young family and to be able to see them grow up. I have then progressed through the hierarchy and developed my skills to enable me to climb the progression ladder and make a positive change for others, as I have seen it from both sides of the coin. Every day is varied and a new challenge and I have met some amazing people throughout my career and seen some absolutely heart-warming moments and such dedication, commitment and care from the staff teams, that make me understand that there is still a lot of good in the world.
