Tunstall Hall is a Residential Care Home for older people and is located on the outskirts of the Shropshire town of Market Drayton.

Once a Georgian country home for the Broughton-Adley family, Tunstall Hall is built in three and a half acres of grounds surrounded by mature parkland.

The striking galleried entrance hall and lounge at the heart of the home is a favourite area for residents to sit and chat and the large lounge, once a ballroom, has a beautiful ornate ceiling and uninterrupted views across the garden and farmland.

The home has 31 single bedrooms and four have en-suite bathroom facilities. Modern equipment and facilities ensure the health and safety of residents who have restricted mobility.

A dedicated activities coordinator organises group and individual activity programmes including board games, indoor gardening, flower arranging, painting and sing-a-longs. Residents also enjoy day trips and visits, with Cadburyworld in Birmingham proving a particular favourite.

I find the staff at Tunstall Hall Care Centre attentive, caring and friendly. They keep me updated on any issues that Mum has and always find time to include Mum. Tunstall Hall itself is clean and provides a good service.

I visited my mum almost every day whilst she was at Tunstall Hall and was never disappointed. The staff, whether managers, care assistants or housekeeping were friendly and welcoming and showed patience, good humour and respect towards the residents. The hall was always clean, with a choice of rooms
for guests and residents to use. Mum made huge progress whilst at Tunstall Hall, recovering to a level that I hadn't thought possible. She loved the food and enjoyed sitting by the huge windows watching the birds on the feeders. If I had to go into a care home I would happily go to Tunstall Hall.

Visited my mum today and had the most wonderful surprise. The team had decorated the lounge with jubilee decorations, tables laid out for a celebration tea party, and all residents, including my mum, taking part in a royal quiz while having the most lovely afternoon tea. Yet again, the team exceeded
themselves, and I haven't seen such a big smile on my mum's face for ages. Well done all, and thank you.

My grandmother passed away this month after spending her last 3 years at Tunstall Hall. The staff were so kind and caring, especially in my gran's final days. My gran was very impressed by the new manager and had nothing but praise for improvements she has made to the home. The home itself is set in
beautiful peaceful surroundings and the rooms are homely and comfortable. I would definitely recommend Tunstall Hall for residential care. Thank you to all the lovely staff for everything you did for my gran and our family.

My mum has lived at Tunstall Hall Care Centre for many years. I feel it is her home and love visiting her there, she is very happy here and I am too. All staff, carers, domestics, management never have a problem, all residents are well cared for. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

My mum seems to be very happy at Tunstall Hall Care Centre. She looks better now than when she arrived. The room is very nice, the meals are excellent, I just wish she would eat more. All the staff are very nice and seem to be competent.

What a wonderful place Tunstall Hall Care Centre is - a beautiful building with a lovely approach, a beautiful drive with fields on either side. The staff are very kind and considerate and my husband is very comfortable there. He has a large room with a TV and is very well cared for.

As a physiotherapist, I have visited many care homes. Tunstall Hall has by far the most friendly, professional and obviously skilled caregivers. On one visit, I observed two carers assisting a resident from sitting to standing with perfect manual handling technique. So refreshing to see and I am so
glad my grandmother is in such good care. Her happiness is a testament to this too. What a wonderful place.

My mother-in-law cried and was so distressed at moving from her house of 50-years. From the minute she arrived, and even before, every care was taken to settle her physically, emotionally and mentally. She is so happy, and we love to visit because the atmosphere is happy and calm. Every care worker
is so polite, and the residents are treated like humans and not spoken down to. It is clean, beautiful, doesn't smell, and the food is amazing. Five-star hotel, not a "care home".

My mother-in-law moved to Tunstall Hall at the end of January. The welcome on arrival was so warm and I was immediately impressed with the staff and the way in which they manage and care for the residents. The ease with which she settled in, after being very strongly opposed to going into care, speaks
volumes for the care, facilities and companionship available at Tunstall Hall. Thank you for making a difficult process so easy to execute. I have a very content mother-in-law.

Tunstall Hall has been and continues to be a very warm and friendly place. It manages to mix professional care with a relaxed "family" approach delivering both on every visit I make. My mother is very happy here, which is enhanced by the beautiful countryside setting and being able to have her cat with
her too.

Our grandad stayed at Tunstall Hall earlier this year following a really nasty fall. It was a respite stay but valuable time for him to recover and find his feet again. I wanted to thank all the staff for making him feel welcome even though he was only there a short time. He talked of chocolate chopsticks,
pancake flipping and games of dominoes with a fellow resident. I would highly recommend the home. The staff go above and beyond and it's such a wonderful setting. Thank you all.

I first came into the care sector at the age of 20 due to wanting to try a different avenue of work as I had previously worked in the mental health sector before elderly care. After working here for a while, I learnt about how small things can make a huge difference in someone’s life and after hearing some of the residents life stories and experiences, it opened my eyes into how it is a privilege to help and support others.


I love my job, as I enjoy helping others, supporting the hard working staff team and being able to make every day, a good day. I came into the care sector initially so that I could work and also be present to raise my young family and to be able to see them grow up. I have then progressed through the hierarchy and developed my skills to enable me to climb the progression ladder and make a positive change for others, as I have seen it from both sides of the coin. Every day is varied and a new challenge and I have met some amazing people throughout my career and seen some absolutely heart-warming moments and such dedication, commitment and care from the staff teams, that make me understand that there is still a lot of good in the world.
