Situated in a tranquil rural setting close to Great Wyrley, WatersEdge Care Home is ideally located just four miles from Walsall town centre with all its amenities. The home is close to good transport links and with easy access to public transport, residents are able to get out and about.

WatersEdge Care Home provides a range of care for those at the home, including residential care, dementia care, and respite care and short stays.

The home is set in a two-storey purpose-built care home which offers a large communal lounge, dining rooms on each floor and a number of facilities including a café and even a pub. All rooms at the home have en-suite facilities and are spacious and luxurious. WatersEdge also boasts a secure, enclosed landscaped garden which is dementia friendly and can be enjoyed all year round.

The team of staff is dedicated, experienced and committed to providing high quality care to residents. Individual needs are striven to be met in a warm, homely environment.

The home believes that residents and visitors to WatersEdge should see, hear and feel that they are ‘at home’. As such, residents are encouraged to lead as normal and as active life as they wish, with activities ranging from family visits to various trips out whenever possible.

Earlier this year Waters Edge Care Home were rated 'good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). This in itself is a great achievement and really confirms my view of the care my father and other residents receive. Staff work incredibly hard and there are regular activities. There is a lovely garden
area which, if the weather is good, is where some of the activities take place. If I do raise any concerns, these are always dealt with quickly. The atmosphere is lovely, and the place is spotlessly clean. A big thank you to all staff!

After looking at several other care homes in the area my mother chose Waters Edge Care Home. She has been there for several months now and it is proving to be a great move. The home has a lovely vibrant happy vibe and my mother has settled in well.
The staff and management went above and beyond in
helping my mother during the moving in process and they continue to be completely supportive when an issue arises.
As a daughter of a resident I feel so thankful that my mother is in a safe and happy place. That both her medical and emotional needs are cared for is so important.

From day one, Mom has been at home here and she never wanted to go into care. She settled in really well, thanks to the welcome all the staff gave her. Everyone I have met is caring and is really interested in the residents. There is a lot of smiles and laughing among the residents and staff, it is
a happy place. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the carers. It is so reassuring to see Mom safe and so well looked after.

My father-in-law went for a stay here for respite. To give my mother-in-law a break and he will be going back for a longer stay in a few weeks too.
He was very well looked after, the home is lovely and they try to arrange lots of activities for residents. It is fantastic that we can just call and
book a room for respite when it’s needed and not worry about having to book months in advance. Very happy.

My partner was in for respite for two months, he was cared for very well, and the staff were great. The only complaint I have is that he had three cases in his wardrobe, one only was his, and the others were someone else. Also, he had lots of clothes missing. My thought is they go into other residents
and take things; I don’t know what can be done about this. Thank you.

I have found the staff really helpful and friendly. They appear to be very caring to my Mum and go above and beyond our expectations. I'm also very impressed with the activities that they offer and the music and singing times that they have, as Mum loves a good singalong.

The staff are extremely pleasant and show sincere care and consideration to our Mum as well as my sister and I, very friendly and attentive.

My uncle was a resident in the care home for the last 12 months of his life, he was a dementia patient that was given a step-down bed, to begin with. Soon after he was made a permanent resident and it was the best thing that could have happened to him. He smiled again, he enjoyed the company and the
staff were amazing, he soon became a valued resident. The staff gave him the love and care I couldn't in this pandemic, I take my hat off to the team at the home, outstanding care and compassion. He was well-loved by all, nothing was too much trouble and are always at the end of the phone when I needed them or when he needed to speak to me. Nothing was too much trouble 100%.

We were so worried about Grandad being cared for in a residential home but the team at Waters Edge did a great job to reassure us. One member of staff even did two Whatsapp video show arounds for our family abroad so that they felt comfortable about where Grandad would be staying. Every time we speak
to Grandad he is really happy, settled and content. He said, ‘They can’t do enough for me and the food is great!’. They even set up events just for him to make him welcome when he arrived. They got to know him and what he likes and arranged to make a big fuss when the races were on etc. I really feel that Grandad is being properly cared for at Waters Edge. He hasn’t once asked about going home which says it all for me.

Our Dad has been at Waters Edge since June 2019, suffering with mixed dementia. All members of staff have been exemplary in all they do for our Dad, nothing is too much trouble. They keep us informed and involve us in all that is happening with Dad, which has been especially important during the covid
crisis. The surroundings are bright, clean and comfortable, the food is of excellent quality and under normal (non-covid) times, lots of entertainment. I have no reservations about recommending Waters Edge care home if you are looking for quality care, delivered in a happy atmosphere, by fantastic caring staff.

Staff are caring and patient, treat residents with dignity and respect their interests, needs and wishes. They have coped extremely well with covid and done their best to reduce incidence. They are willing for residents to return asap, after hospital admission, to reduce confusion.

Extremely happy with the care that my mother-in-law is getting. Staff are helpful and caring and we would highly recommend this home, as we know she is getting the best care. My mother was in here too, so we knew the level of care was high, as she was looked after and treated extremely well.

My dad was very well cared for in the home for two years and we had no complaints about this. We were very upset and disappointed when he contracted covid in hospital and sadly passed away. This review is to highlight how disappointed we were with the managers at the care home who didn't even send the
family a sympathy card or flowers to his funeral. My dad spent nearly sixty thousand pounds with Waters Edge which I would have thought would have entitled him some sort of sympathy from them.

I am very pleased with the care that my wife is receiving. I am very impressed by the dedication of the carers, especially when dealing with difficult residents. I would compare their performance in their duties with that of NHS nurses - a high standard indeed.

Our first experience with care homes, the staff make the biggest difference to the resident. We have not seen anyone who wasn't a lovely and caring person. All of your staff are so friendly.
We like the setup of the home, day areas are clean, fresh and airy. Just one consideration, tea time is a bit
early? I've not seen the meals so can't comment.
It's always clean and fresh and I like the fact it's a modern building. If residents have a tv on in the room, the rooms are well soundproofed.

My mother enjoyed her second, week-long holiday break. As before, all staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The standard of care is exemplary. A lovely atmosphere is experienced by the residents, where staff work ceaselessly to achieve maximum comfort levels. A high level of engaged interaction
is maintained thanks largely to an exceptionally, well-organised activities program. This provides ample entertainment and enjoyment.

Joined: 2019

Leanne started her career at Alpha Health Care within Lakeview Care Home over 7 years ago. Since moving across from Lakeview to be part of Waters Edge’s team in September 2019 Leanne has worked tirelessly to support and work with the Waters Edge team to provide exceptional person-centred care to our residents.


Leanne’s previous experience of working within our Complex Dementia service and the training and experience gained in progressing from Carer to Senior Carer has helped create a real connection, empathy and understanding of the unique care and behavioural needs of individuals with dementia.
