Situated in a tranquil rural setting close to Great Wyrley, WatersEdge Care Home is ideally located just four miles from Walsall town centre with all its amenities. The home is close to good transport links and with easy access to public transport, residents are able to get out and about.

WatersEdge Care Home provides a range of care for those at the home, including residential care, dementia care, and respite care and short stays.

The home is set in a two-storey purpose-built care home which offers a large communal lounge, dining rooms on each floor and a number of facilities including a café and even a pub. All rooms at the home have en-suite facilities and are spacious and luxurious. WatersEdge also boasts a secure, enclosed landscaped garden which is dementia friendly and can be enjoyed all year round.

The team of staff is dedicated, experienced and committed to providing high quality care to residents. Individual needs are striven to be met in a warm, homely environment.

The home believes that residents and visitors to WatersEdge should see, hear and feel that they are ‘at home’. As such, residents are encouraged to lead as normal and as active life as they wish, with activities ranging from family visits to various trips out whenever possible.

I am very impressed with this provider and facility. I have been visiting a friend for months and the staff and management are attentive, caring and nothing seems too much trouble. Families and visitors receive the same high level of attention and friendliness as do the residents. I would highly recommend
this home.

Very clean and well-kept home. Staff are very good. Always here to assist and help. Food is very selective and nourishing. Drinks are plenty. Plenty of entertainment which varies through the year. Once the weather warms up they have beautiful gardens to sit in.

I have Power of Attorney for my sister and she, having been in hospital for 6 weeks and deemed not capable of going home, we had a difficult choice with regard to where she should be cared for.
We investigated a number of options and decided that, rather than placing her in a care home in the Birmingham
area, we would look to move her closer to our home in Essington. On visiting Waters Edge we were struck with the atmosphere of the home and the friendly nature of all the staff we met. My sister has only been there since 12th November, and whilst she can be particularly difficult, she has settled in extremely well and seems very contented. It looks like we made a good choice.

Initially, I was worried about moving both parents into a care home but so pleased to have found Waters edge. Everyone is warm, friendly, caring and sensitive in their approach to dementia. My father has settled into life here at Waters Edge with the help of the staff and management. I can honestly say that the care, kindness, compassion and fun that is delivered by all is outstanding! I have experience of other homes and this is unlike any other I have experienced (I have worked in a
care home). The CEO also visits and talks to the residents and families on a regular basis! If I had to choose to live here in my time of need, I would!

My mother entered Waters Edge four weeks ago. She had gone through a difficult time with six weeks in hospital and six weeks in a Care Home, not of our choice, after discharge from hospital. She had become depressed and although needing 24 hour care desperately wanted God to help her and questioning
why she couldn't return to her to her 'own lovely house'. The Care Home was difficult to reach and prevented many of her friends and relatives visiting her.
Waters Edge its near to where my mom has spent the last 80+ years of her life. It is six minutes by car from my house and much easier for her old friends to visit.
The home is welcoming and friendly. Mom's room is clean and warm with a lovely view from her window. It is gradually being furnished with familiar items from her home. She is responding positively to staff and other residents. She now remarks on how lucky she is to have a room in such a nice environment. We now feel that she is in the best home that we can find.

Absolutely first class attention in all things, staff and management can't do enough and so good at cheering everybody up.
Have been to church service which was very nice and also to see the singer in the lounge today. Wearing Australian hats and a nice drink and was very enjoyable.

Since my mom has been in she has been more talkative, joined in all activities, the staff have been very good with her and myself, I have found everybody helpful and friendly. I can't believe what they do for the residents, putting on different events for all to join in.

This is an excellent care home. My mum is receiving outstanding help. She is 97 and whatever she wants or needs is given with dignity, care and friendliness. Nothing is too much trouble for any staff member, from carers, district nurses, doctor to the hairdresser. Outstanding activities. I have not
seen an unhappy resident yet. Waters Edge Care Home was highly recommended to me and I would gladly recommend it myself. The manager is lovely, very helpful and does everything in her power to make life good and happy for all residents and families.

My mother spent 2 weeks in WatersEdge and was very happy there. She was well cared for and treated with the utmost respect and dignity. All of the staff from the manager to laundry lady were really lovely and friendly. I/We would definately use WatersEdge again and are relieved that we need to look

Waters Edge has been monumental in not only the health, safety and well-being of Mum, it has restored our relationship. The care, management, activities and meals provided are 2nd to none. I doubt Mum would be alive now if left on her own in her home since Dad passed away. She now has a purpose in life
and loves all her new friends she has made in her new community.

Leanne Burns

Job Title: Deputy Care Home Manager

Joined: 2019

Leanne started her career at Alpha Health Care within Lakeview Care Home over 7 years ago. Since moving across from Lakeview to be part of Waters Edge’s team in September 2019 Leanne has worked tirelessly to support and work with the Waters Edge team to provide exceptional person-centred care to our residents.


Leanne’s previous experience of working within our Complex Dementia service and the training and experience gained in progressing from Carer to Senior Carer has helped create a real connection, empathy and understanding of the unique care and behavioural needs of individuals with dementia.
