My parents (both in their nineties) have been residents at Claybourne for over 18 months and I feel very blessed to have found such a wonderful caring place for them to live, particularly as my father has end-stage dementia. The atmosphere at Claybourne is calm, welcoming and friendly. I love visiting
and joining in some of the activities and outings when able to do so. The staff are wonderful and nothing seems too much trouble. If I ever need this sort of care in later life, I would have no hesitation about becoming a resident in Claybourne.

My mother-in-law has been a resident for approx 12 months and is very happy there. The access to the garden is a great bonus as she has always been a keen gardener. The staff are extremely caring, friendly and professional.

Claybourne is a very happy home. It’s a joy to know that mum is cared for by the highest quality of support, where the hard work and professional approach allows all staff to take onboard their full responsibilities. Claybourne is a strong and confident place. They have crafted their values, where they
exude fun and celebrate the qualities of life. Which is all sensitively balanced alongside creating a healthy, safe and secure place. The staff’s pride, which runs through the organisation, is due to one member of staffs strong and empowering leadership. Mum can be who she is, alongside who sometimes she thinks she is, because the staff care and have given time to get to know and embrace mum’s world. The building and it’s relationship to the grounds is wonderful. It means mum can walk freely, inside and outside in the gardens safely and securely. This gives her a sense of freedom that she has loved since her childhood in the Scottish mountains. I’m sure she’s 10 years younger since being in Claybourne.

Difficult to put into words just how impressed we are with Claybourne. It seems that, without exception, every staff member demonstrates genuine love for each of the residents. The home manager is quite literally, outstanding. Her proactive approach, lightheartedness, concern, approachability and the
visible fondness and support she has for her staff highlights the very reasons why Claybourne stands out so much. The same is true for her deputies and assistants, the care staff, the housekeepers, the kitchen staff and all volunteers. The quality of care throughout the home is overwhelming, as is the food, the cleanliness, the warmth (spiritually and physically) and the clever choice of activities. The passion by everyone to continually find ways to optimise the well-being of each resident is incredible. My mum has been a resident here for three months and although we long for her to be with us always, we know how lucky we are that she’s able to be part of this wonderful, loving and caring family.

Our mum was a resident at Claybourne for around twenty-one months. During that time, we found all of the staff to be very caring, compassionate and thoughtful, especially so in the last couple of weeks before she passed away.
Not only did they care for mum with dignity and respect they also looked
after us with an endless supply of tea and coffee and they were always there with a shoulder to cry on.
Our overall experience has been nothing but good and we would gladly recommend Claybourne to anyone else.

My father has been at Claybourne for the past 6 years and I have never had cause to complain about any element of his care. He is well looked after in all respects and is treated like a member of the family. The home really is a 'home from home' with both his physical and spiritual needs fully met.
His health is monitored on a daily basis and every effort is made to ensure that he is happy, his mind is stimulated and that he is talked to with kindness, understanding and with a genuine interest in what he is saying.


There are excellent systems in place to ensure the efficient running of Claybourne and the home manager and all staff are welcoming when I visit and are always approachable regarding all aspects of my father's care.

It was my mother-in-laws birthday when we arrived. They had organised a tea dance and a cake was made especially for my mother in law, she was made to feel very special by all the staff. She enjoyed having a dance which she hadn't done in years, it was a lovely day. She was even presented with a birthday
present from the staff, she really felt special and loved by everyone. I cannot thank the staff enough, the family enjoyed the day as well. Thank you.

Mum's now been at Claybourne for 1 year and soon settled in after initial anxiety at leaving her familiar surroundings.
She'd previously lived alone in a bungalow, lacking mobility and enduring the onset of Alzheimer's with no day-to-day company or mental stimulation.
Her physical well-being was
also at risk.
At Claybourne she is safe. She is well looked after by a team of friendly and professional carers, clearly enjoying the attention she receives.
There are plenty of activities that she can participate in, and the home provides a wide choice of nourishing meals.
Claybourne is of excellent design, is sensitively and effectively managed, and is maintained to high levels of cleanliness and security. The gardens are a delight and easily accessible for the short walks that Mum thoroughly enjoys.
I consider myself fortunate that Mum is at Claybourne. To know that she receives such dignified and compassionate 24-hour care is settling for me and allows me to spend quality time with her.

My father-in-law was a resident at Claybourne for a number of years before passing away this month. The home was his home, the staff our extended family and when my father-in-law moved into Claybourne he regained a vitality. The care was exceptional, the activities were always stimulating, the food
was of the highest standard, the gardens were lovely to walk in and the home was always clean and everything well maintained. As a family, we could not fault Claybourne or any of its staff and would recommend it to anyone considering a home for their relatives.

When I initially visited Claybourne with a view to my mother becoming a resident there I was immediately met by a warm and friendly atmosphere. I Felt very lucky when my mother was offered a place and now five years later, my opinion, remains the same. All management and staff are very approachable
and residents are always treated with respect and compassion. The various activities on offer ensure that residents are kept motivated and that they remain alert and active for as long as possible. There is a choice of freshly prepared nutritious food and special diets are catered for. Resident's pastoral needs and faiths are met by regular fellowship services with their own MHA Chaplain. At Claybourne, body mind and soul are all nurtured.

From first contact, Claybourne was welcoming, friendly and efficient. The general atmosphere of the home is relaxed and caring. The staff are dedicated and kind and do all they can to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment. There is a varied programme of activities, including a number
with an explicit Christian character. The home is excellent at keeping us up to date with any health changes or developments and, as relatives, we always feel welcome.

A lovely care home that is well maintained and looked after. Every aspect of the home is exceptional from the care staff, food and cleanliness. Senior management is very approachable and if there are any problems they are soon sorted. There are always plenty of activities for the residents and church
services are held on a regular basis. I was particularly impressed with the well laid out and maintained gardens.

When my mother moved into Claybourne the manager told us that their own aim was to offer a 'home for life'. We were fortunate to experience this.
Eighteen months after arrival Mum had a severe stroke. When after 6 weeks in hospital she had made no progress and was unable to swallow, Claybourne arranged
for her to go back there for end of life care.
She spent just over two weeks being looked after by her usual carers, under the care of the GP and with district nurses on hand when necessary.
The chaplain visited and read to mum as well as talking to me.
I was looked after in a gentle and unobtrusive way with cups of tea and sandwiches whenever needed. Mum was afforded love, respect and dignity.

What a truly beautiful place to visit residents in. From the initial phone call through to being met by delightful men on the carpark- all most welcoming. The manager and the chaplain all made the visit lovely. The care staff were happy and welcoming and at great ease with all the residents. We truly

Mum lived at Claybourne for the final two years of her life and we felt she was very well cared for there, with genuine love and affection. We (her daughters and families) were always made to feel very welcome by all the staff when we visited Mum, no matter when we called in. We always felt kept up
to date and informed of Mum's condition and this was very important to us, as her dementia meant that she couldn't keep us informed herself. The design of the home and the range of activities really seemed to enhance Mum's quality of life while she was there. At the end of Mum's life, my sisters and I were able to be with Mum, and the staff at the home were attentive and caring towards both Mum and towards us, without being intrusive, throughout her final day. We could not fault the care that Mum had at the end of her life, and we felt very well supported by the staff at this sad time. So glad someone recommended MHA to us when we needed a dementia home for Mum.
