Mum initially went into Trentside for respite care while we went on holiday and she loved it so when we finally had to make the decision for mum to go into care full-time because of her dementia we were more than happy to find out that they had a place for mum because she had got to know the staff and
was familiar with the home. It’s not one of the largest care homes which is what I liked it’s more intimate like being part of a family and has the most amazing staff who go above and beyond to help the residents but also have time for the relatives when visits get difficult because of the illness. The rooms are lovely, the dining area nice, food is good, and the orangery at the back is lovely and spacious leading out to the garden. There’s always something going on for the residents be it crafting, games or what my mum loved the most singing and dancing (thanks to the resident singer). I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely home.

Trentside Manor looked after my dear mum for almost 12 months. They looked after her excellently with lots of love and care. I found them to be very open and honest in all things regarding my mum's care. I chose the right care home for my mum.

My mum needed to be resident in four different homes since 2013 and I would have to say that the time she spent in Trentside Manor would be the happiest time spent within the care system. Having to select care for a parent is a very difficult and stressful position to be in but I found the staff at
Trentside very supportive throughout her initially going into care and throughout the time that she was a resident. My mum had a limited understanding of her surroundings as her condition deteriorated but she loved the food and had a great modern room with a pleasant view of the outside garden area. The staff make great efforts to entertain residents irrespective of their awareness and have always had the residents' best interests at heart.

Mum, aged 94 was initially admitted to Trentside Manor for respite and subsequently as a resident.
This was the first occasion we had experienced 'the care system' and straight away we found the management and staff at Trentside to be understanding, caring and reassuring both to Mum and myself and
sister.
During her care, Mum was happy and comfortable.
She became more confident, engaged with other residents and involved with numerous activities taking place.
Trentside Manor is clean, well maintained and managed with a great understanding of the needs of vulnerable residents. The food is excellent.
Regular meetings with residents families are held to discuss and raise any concerns.
We would like to express our thanks to the carers who were wonderful to Mum and readily recommend Trentside Manor for the care of loved ones.

Mum was taken as emergency respite, as I was taken into hospital. This was her 4th time in Trentside. The staff are very kind, not only to mum but to me as well. Her feet had an argument with a wheelchair but she was medically treated quickly and efficiently. She is safe there.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.407)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.407) out of 10 for Trentside Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.735 for Trentside Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.735

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.672 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Trentside Manor Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 registered maximum number of service users is 7.2. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.2 = 0.972

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
