My father is a very difficult man and with his disabilities, can make helping him hard. He still believes he can live independently.
He doesn't like being told what he can and cannot do. The staff at Four Acres are angels, they don't just care for the resident, but also for the family member. In a
short time, I can honestly say your staff are warm, welcoming, kind and very supportive without them I wouldn't have been able to cope.

Third home my mother has been in - Four Acres has been the one to meet the family's satisfaction. I cannot commend the staff more. They have been wonderful. We will not forget the care given in my mother's final years. If I meet anyone in the same circumstances that we were in, we will not hesitate
to recommend Four Acres.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.403)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.403) out of 10 for Four Acres is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.821 for Four Acres is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.821

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.582 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Four Acres is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.682

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have worked within the care sector since 2008, I was a care assistant for 3 years and then moved into the office.

I love my current role as I do get the best of both worlds; I get to do all the important things such as wages and contracts etc but then have so much fun with our residents from singing to dancing to just taking part in regular quizzes. I also enjoy the chats I have with our relatives.

An interesting fact about me is that I once ran 100-meter hurdles against Colin Jackson.

I enjoy my role as Lifestyle Coordinator immensely. It is a most rewarding role getting to know all our residents personally and their families. I feel that it is important for everyone to have the same opportunities to do the things they did before coming to Four Acres take part in our varied lifestyle plan and continue their daily living. I always listen to our residents and take on board what activities they prefer to do, as it helps to maintain and improve their health and mental well-being, hence being encouraged to take an active role in activities that are meaningful to them. I love getting to know our residents’ personalities and learning all about their lives. I have the best role at Four Acres. My day is varied, and no day is ever the same. It’s not like going to ‘work’; it’s their home, and it has that homely feel, unlike any other care home I have worked. I feel privileged to be part of their lives.

Fun fact;
