St Joseph's Residential Care Home in Coleshill opened in 2002.

The home is split into four wings and three of these specialise in dementia care.

Each wing has personalised bedrooms with en-suite facilities.

Care is provided by a motivated and compassionate staff team who are well trained and experienced in what they do. They are on hand 24 hours a day to provide residents with the help and support they need.

The care home encourages the involvement of family and friends.

Singers, dancers, florists, exercise instructors and others all drop in to provide a stimulating variety of things to do.

St Joseph’s has a chapel, a small hairdressing salon and a shop for a variety of everyday items, sweets and chocolates.

Pretty, landscaped gardens wrap around the home and are always available for residents and visitors to take a stroll in.

My mother has been thoughtfully and caringly looked after at St Joseph's. Her needs are met, and she is given additional opportunities personalised to her as he condition and mental state allow. There is good communication with me over Mum's changing situation, and as a family, we are all made welcome.
Their care and management of residents through Covid was excellent.

It is never an easy decision to have to place a loved one out of their home and into a care home. However, from the moment we engaged with St Joseph's and viewed the home, we were made to feel very welcome and supported as well as my aunt. St Joseph's has exceeded my expectations and more. They are
all so friendly, caring and welcoming, there's a positive vibe, and a good feel about St Joseph's and all who work there. The rating good for activities is only due to restrictions of Covid and limited exposure to what activities St Joseph's provides. All the activities I know about and have seen are excellent. My aunt is happy in St Josephs and has settled in very well and is so well cared for, it's like an extension of our family. I appreciate all that you do for my aunt and as relatives, you go above and beyond and it shows how well you work as a team and how well you are led.

I have been visiting St Joseph's Care Home in Coleshill for a good number of years and have always found the staff very caring and dedicated. The home itself is warm, friendly and inviting and one always feels that it is "home from home" as the residents always seem so happy. When I have been invited
to dine there, the food has been wholesome and of good quality. I know that the residents always appreciate the frequent activities and the home engages well with residents, families and other parties with regular meetings and consultations. Cleanliness is next to Godliness and this is also the case at St Joseph's! Additional services are provided, such as in-house hairdressers, community shop, visiting practitioners and other medical support services.

My mum had been in hospital for several weeks, during that time, she had gone from being an active 87-year-old to being forced to be bed-bound by the hospital and losing her mobility. She became frail and depressed.
As a family, we made the decision to move her from the hospital to St Joseph's to give
her a better quality of life. The plan was to book her in for respite care with a possible view to permanency depending on her progress.
Prior to her admission, the staff were extremely helpful and supportive, particularly the manager.
It became apparent we had made the best decision; the staff were caring and supportive and helped her regain her mobility and strength.
She was a resident from December 2021 and was eventually well enough to return to her own home in February 2022.
During her stay, she received excellent care.
She said that she enjoyed her time in St Joseph's and said if it wasn't for them, she would never have recovered and regained her mobility.

My mum went to live in St Joseph's in February 2020 - aged 93 - just before the first lockdown. She was living in her own home, with dementia, but following a fall, needed somewhere 'safe' to live. The care she received during her 22-months in the home was excellent. The staff genuinely care for their
residents; my mum was kept safe and comfortable and treated with dignity. The staff understand how dementia changes a person, and they all worked hard to allow my mum's spirit and personality to shine. When Mum became ill, I was able to stay with her while she received 'End of Life' care. Mum was shown love throughout her stay - and also at the end of her life. Not only were my mum's needs met, but the staff supported me too. The management team are excellent, the staff work well together, and the kitchen staff produce excellent meals; in short, all the carers and support staff work hard to meet an individual's needs. The local GP surgery is very supportive too.

Mom has been at St Joseph’s just a few months and is very happy there. The home offers an excellent standard of care to all its residents; the food is amazing, and there’s always lots going on - a singalong or other social activities!
Mom has dementia but is treated with dignity at all times. We can
see she’s being kept clean and tidy. The staff are all lovely and friendly - they keep us updated about everything and appear happy to help.


I would have no hesitation in recommending St Joseph’s.

From day one my mom experienced such great care. The carers have been amazing and treated her with respect and dignity at all times and became part of our family. The home offers a variety of activities and encourage residents and family to join in. The standard of food was excellent and they catered
for my mom's limited dietary requirements. Her bedroom was a great size with her own private toilet and shower facilities. Appearance was very important to her and she was always well presented with her hair done and nails painted. I could not have asked for anything better and I am very sad that I have had to move Mom on to nursing care. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending St Joseph's Residential Care Home.

Our dear mom has been at St Joseph's for the last four years. She died at Jade unit on Sunday 5th January with us, her family around her. We just needed to express our deepest thanks for all the care and support we received at this time from your staff and for all the love and care the staff gave to

My father was extremely well cared for by all members of staff, whilst in St Joseph's between April 18 and May 19. I cannot praise everyone enough for all the love and attention dad received in those 14 months. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone considering a safe and loving place for

On visiting, my friend is always well dressed in coordinating colours, is happy and enjoys the caring attention of all the staff. She is cared for emotionally, physically and spiritually which has always been very important to her prior to suffering from Alzheimer's.
The staff are always happy and
cheerful with both tolerance and compassion towards all on the units. They keep me informed of any change in my friends care no matter how small or insignificant. I cannot fault the care.

Rooms are generous size and ensuite. Spotlessly clean. Food excellent and always fresh. All laundry dealt with. Excellent updates to family in case of any medical issues/falls etc.
Ruby Wing staff are all very pleasant and willing to chat about any issues.

to residents who wish to attend. Confident in staff.

My husband was admitted to St Joseph's in August 2018 and from day one he has been really well looked after. The carers are so kind, helpful and loving to me as well as my husband and the whole atmosphere in the home is of one large family where everyone, patient, family and carers interact with one

My husband receives excellent care, he is always clean and tidy. The home is kept clean with no unpleasant odours and the food is fresh and cooked on site. I am delighted to have him in a care home, as near to being 'at home' as possible, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. There are regular visits
by the district nurse, a doctor, hairdresser and chiropodist, as well as a local doctor on call as required. This was the best care home I visited when looking for care for my husband, and has proven to be the right choice.

My dad went to this home as we could no longer care for him at home. Straight away we knew we had chosen the ideal place.
The carers are amazing, they treat residents as individuals and consider every aspect of their care to ensure their happiness and security. Events are organised on a regular basis.
eg, connection with a local children's nursery, music, flower arranging and visits from animals including llamas and donkeys.
Relatives can visit at any time and are given a warm welcome. The home is always clean and the rooms are very comfortable with views over the garden.

The very best thing about St Joseph's is the staff. All staff, whether carers, management or cleaners are excellent. They all treat the residents with great kindness and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot praise them highly enough. Sometimes they seem a bit stretched but this does not alter the fantastic
care they give. I only wish for their sake there were more staff. The place is comfortable and clean and cosy. Sometimes Mom does not like the food, especially the puddings and milkshakes. On the whole, my mother seems content and happy which is a great relief to me.

My mother has been a resident of St Joseph's Care Home for about three years. She suffers from dementia but on the whole is a happy soul singing and chatting with other residents and staff when she is not resting. I have noted excellent in all the categories of this survey because I always come away

I recently went for respite care to St Joseph's and had a very good, pleasant stay with good food, excellent attention by all staff. Nothing was too much for them to attend to and talk to as well. Would have no hesitation in going there any time.

Choosing a care home for a much-loved mum is an enormous task. Nowhere will be perfect but St Joseph’s was the best for mum. The comfortable, homely environment was very suitable.
The friendly, caring staff took time to get to know mum and family members. They built up lovely relationships with mum,
always treating her with dignity and respect and she came to recognise them as part of her community.
Whenever there were family concerns, the unit manager was always approachable and very good at listening. Equally, the family were informed if staff were concerned. A good partnership was established for mum’s care.
Spiritual needs were recognised and a huge bonus for mum was the opportunity to go to daily Mass in the little chapel.
Writing a review is from a personal perspective but it was evident St Joseph’s team of managers, care assistants, cleaners and chefs all contribute to the personalised care of all the residents.
A very grateful daughter.
This home is very much worth consideration.

Shelley describes her team as compassionate and one which all pull together to support one another. Shelley's passion for St Joseph's shines through, and she continues to be dedicated to providing the highest standards of care.
