Cherry Tree Lodge is a 74 bedroom Whitnash care home, staffed by a team of caring, experienced and professional carers. This spacious home meets long-term care needs with high standards and the promotion of a fulfilling daily lifestyle.

The home is part of care provider Runwood Homes' expanding range, which is highly-regarded in the sector for the difference made to the lives of older and vulnerable people including those living with dementia.

All of the bedrooms are beautifully furnished, many with en-suite bathroom facilities. They also have a dedicated area for dementia care, designed to enable those cared for to maintain their independence in a safe environment.

I found one of the carers extremely kind and cares for anyone, cooks, sings, her patients always come first. Remarkable, the carer I like and think she is a hard-working, caring woman. She deserves to be acknowledged.

After only one visit I would hesitate to tick excellent without further and more comprehensive viewing of the facilities. But overall impression was very good.

I have always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. I am sure they do everything they can to help my husband.
I am please there are now more activities, as this can only help with dementia residents.
The last year has been very difficult for everyone and the staff are all to be commended
for all their hard work.

My grandma loves it here. You can tell she feels safe and very much at home with the staff and other residents. The rooms are cosy and spacious too, and it's just been a great peace of mind for our family.

From the first meeting with the manager we were welcomed as if we were family, reassured that everything about Cherry Tree Lodge was the vest available to us. Care, food, activities, really good. I have no doubts that my wife is well cared for by friendly staff who are happy to help.

My 99-yeard-old mother has been in Cherry Tree Lodge for nearly three and a half years, and during this time, she has been very happy and well cared for. Sadly with Coronavirus, I have been unable to visit my mother in her room since March 2020 and was finally able to do it last week. Mum is well, but
the changes in staff and lack of communication has been a sad aspect of Covid. I do not feel in touch with how care is being managed and how many activities are being offered to understand the level of care. I do feel out of touch, and fortunately, a weekly Zoom with Mum and the family is our main contact. Look forward to getting back to normal visits and contact.

The care given to my relative during such a difficult time has been exceptional. All aspects of is needs have been met by the staff and by care professionals brought in. Although I have not been able to have visits due to Covid-19, I have been given regular updates by phone. The family are very grateful
and reassured that everything is being done to make residents safe.

Because of coronavirus the home was closed to visitors on 12th March. In my opinion this was exactly the right time to enforce this for the safety of residents. The staff has been great in keeping the family in touch with Mum, which has made us feel reassured that she is in good hands. thank you to
all the members of staff.

My mother is very happy at Cherry Tree Lodge. She is always saying the staff are very caring, the food is good, and she has been well looked after.
Our family have always been satisfied with the level of care, but with the onset of Covid-19 in recent weeks, the staff have been extra thoughtful, with
photos, messages and updates on the residents. We are very grateful to them for all their care.
I would recommend this home to anyone; thank you.

Our nan could not be in better hands; the staff are so very kind and attentive. Nan is very happy, well-fed and she loves her room!
Staff have been particularly professional and wonderful during the lockdown, helping us maintain contact with nan in difficult circumstances, but keeping everyone safe.
Thank
you.

My father has been a resident for a little over six months. He seems happy and content. I and the rest of his family are more than happy with his care. The home is always clean and tidy, all members of staff are very welcoming. His room is kept clean and we are always informed if he needs any toiletries
etc buying. He has the opportunity to join in daily activities. The staff treat him, and all residents with respect. Every member of staff knows the name and needs of the residents on my father’s floor. When we visit I always see staff in corridors and, if a resident is in a communal room, there is always a staff member nearby. The meal menus look varied and nutritious. When my father has needed medical attention we have been informed immediately and made aware of what is going on. I cannot recommend Cherry Tree Lodge highly enough.

Since my father moved from sheltered accommodation where he had carers visiting him 4 times a day, but to no real avail, he has come on leaps and bounds. He's refound a verve for life and now enjoys visiting all the common rooms and generally moving around, something he'd lost in the previous 12 months.
His appetite, which was a terrible worry, picked up as soon as he moved to the home, and he's actually put weight on. He is always in good spirits and we are delighted that he resides at a care home that we've always rated highly through our experience of other relatives residing there.

My aunt has been a resident of Cherry Tree Lodge for several years. We are extremely pleased that she is so well cared for. The place is clean with attractive decor - many "memory reminders" for residents. Staff are unfailingly helpful and cheerful and speak to residents by name.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.139)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.139) out of 10 for Cherry Tree Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.798 for Cherry Tree Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (77 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.798

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.341 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cherry Tree Lodge is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.8 = 0.541

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
