The biggest strength of Long Lea is the staff. They are, without question, caring, sensitive, thoughtful, pleasant and dedicated. I feel confident that they care about my Mum and take the trouble to keep her happy.

In the 12 months my Mum has been here I have found the care she has received is more than I could expect.
The staff are friendly and carting.
I am kept up to date if there are any ongoing problems with my Mum healthwise.
It is like being in one happy family.

My dad spent 10 months at Long Lea until he died in May 2018. The care he received during that time was wonderful, the staff are so caring and can’t do enough for the residents. Long Lea feels like a real home, very relaxed and friendly.

My father was really quite poorly when he arrived at Long Lea. In 3 months his general health and well being have improved enormously. I feel he is very well cared for in every way. I feel happy and welcome each time I visit. His room is quite small but this has actually benefitted him as his mobility
is poor so he can use furniture to move around. The staff are caring and kind and I feel they meet dad's needs. He is always washed clean and comfortable when I visit. The day room is bright and mostly full of service users who sit in groups chatting or having a rest. Dad wanted to stay at home as long as possible so moving here was a big decision. We have no regrets he is definitely in the right place. Dad moved his own furniture in so it has become a small home from homes.

Since my grandmother has been cared for she has been extremely happier and she is very well cared for and looked after by all of the staff. We are so lucky to have such a great team looking after her and we will definitely be recommending to others. We have noticed a change in her confidence and it’s

Karen has worked in the care industry for many years all over the UK. Therefore, she knows the industry very well and her care home is even better! She takes great pride in having a well-managed home and loves speaking with her residents and making them laugh. Long Lea has thrived under Karen's leadership and is stronger than ever.


Outside of work, Karen loves to spend time with her family and friends and enjoy a good dance. She also considers time spent with her residents as a hobby, taking great care to form personal relationships with each and every one of them.

Lucy Gee

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Lucy has an extensive background in care and a real passion for helping others. She loves to get involved and finds real joy in engaging in fun activities with her residents. She and Karen make an excellent management team, where Lucy's experience and enthusiasm have been a massive support.


When she isn't working, Lucy enjoys socialising with family and friends as well as exercising and going to the gym.
