The care my sister receives at the home is lovely.
She really enjoys the food, and her appetite has really improved; in the two months since she moved in.
The home is kept lovely and clean, and her room is decorated really nice.

Exceptional care home, from the Manager down. Nothing is too much trouble for any staff member. Definitely puts your mind at rest that your loved one is getting the care that they deserve. Would definitely recommend Lower Meadow.

Lower Meadow is beautifully set out, from the manager to the care staff, the care my stepdad receives is exceptional. The staff are polite, friendly and really do go above and beyond in the care that they give to all the residents. One care worker, in particular, is outstanding and makes you feel at
home and nothing is too much trouble. I am so pleased my stepdad is at Lower Meadow and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I had an invite to look around the home when it was refurbished and said at the time that it was the best and that view hasn't changed. The manageress showed my daughter and myself around when we dropped in with no appointment, and we were able to reserve a room for my husband. The staff were very welcoming,
and we could see the residents were well cared for.
My family and I feel very lucky that there was a room for my husband. Since he has been at the home, he has been very happy to be there. All the staff and manager do all they can to make sure he's well looked after.
I can't praise the home enough. It's the best.

This is the first time my husband has ever been into respite. He was in 5 days and 4 nights and was treated with the utmost care and dignity. My husband says he would highly recommend it to anyone and so would I. The staff have been most helpful and friendly.

My mother has been here for about 6 weeks. The building is fresh, bright clean and welcoming. The staff are generally warm and friendly. There is an easy going family feel to the place. The cakes are wonderful but sometimes the dinners aren't great. They vary in quality sometimes very cheap puddings
like Arctic Roll. You can do better than that. Occasionally staff use patronising terns of endearment.

My 101-year-old father had never had carers or been in a care home before. He was extremely anxious when his wife went into hospital and he had to go into respite care. Within 2 or 3 days he had 'settled' and come to terms with his situation and this was due to the staff at Lower Meadow helping and
reassuring him, plus family and friends visiting.


His view of care homes has now changed and he would not be so anxious next time. We thank Lower Meadow for this! My father is back home with his wife to celebrate their 78th wedding anniversary this week.

I began my journey at Lower Meadow 6 years ago now, as a care assistant and with the support of Runwood Homes, I have now successfully managed the home for over 3 years.


I am very proud of the amazing team we have and the quality of care that we provide here. To care for someone is an honour, but, to give them a life here at Lower Meadow, where they laugh, enjoy life and feel loved and cared for, now that is something special.

Hi, I’m Wayne! I’ve been working in maintenance at Lower Meadow for the past year, ensuring that our residents are safe and that the home is always looking their best. I take great pride in my work and am dedicated to keeping everything running smoothly.


One of my proudest achievements is passing all inspections with flying colours, reflecting the high standards I set in everything I do. In my spare time, I’m an avid fan of classic scooters and can even build a Lambretta from scratch! When I’m not working, you’ll often find me walking the dogs, enjoying the outdoors, and appreciating the little things in life.

Hi, I’m Tracey! As a Housekeeper at Lower Meadow, I make a difference every day by ensuring our residents have a clean, comfortable home to live in. I work closely with the team to meet all expectations and maintain the high standards of the home.


I’m passionate about my work and take pride in creating a welcoming environment for everyone. Outside of work, I love travelling and have had the privilege of visiting over 10 countries. When I'm at home, I enjoy reading, watching films, and taking the dogs out to the fields. I also love spending weekends at my static caravan, where I can unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

I'm Craig. As the Head Chef at Lower Meadow, I have had the privilege of creating diverse dishes tailored to the resident's needs, including seasonal menus. It’s always a pleasure meeting with residents and their families, and I’m proud to work in such a positive, supportive environment.


I’ve been honoured to place 2nd twice in the Chef of the Year competition for Runwood Homes, which is a testament to my passion for cooking. Outside of work, I have a keen interest in collecting retro items from the past, and I love taking rides on my Lambretta scooter with friends. I also enjoy trips to the Isle of Wight with my dog, soaking in the stunning views and nature.

I'm Maxine. With over 6 years of experience as a Home Administrator at Lower Meadow, I take pride in fostering a positive and welcoming environment. I truly enjoy meeting and connecting with residents and their families, and while the job can be challenging at times, I find it incredibly rewarding. I’m a happy person, a good listener, and always strive to make others feel heard and valued.


Outside of work, I cherish spending quality time with my family and creating lasting memories. I love holidays abroad, as well as enjoying the beautiful Isle of Wight with my loved ones.
