Clarendon Manor offers the finest care in the heart of Whitnash, a vibrant and sought after village.

Located within easy reach of pubs, shops, bus routes and village amenities, Clarendon Manor has been recently extended and refurbished with more day space, a conservatory and seven new bedrooms with their own terrace.

The home offers a large lounge that is used for group recreation activities and two smaller, more cosy lounges often used as retreats for residents who wish to relax. A spacious dining room overlooks the well tended rear gardens through patio windows.

The home has many single rooms and each bedroom is tastefully decorated, often complemented by furniture and pictures brought in by residents, making a true home for the residents.

Residents are offered a choice of menu every day, which is created by an experienced chef who places emphasis on home-cooked cuisine and using local produce. The home is happy to listen to residents suggestions and try more exotic foods or non-English dishes. Special diets can also be catered for.

Our father has been at the care home now for about two years, he seems quite relaxed with the staff and seems to get on well with them all. Whenever we are visiting the staff are always kind and welcoming, on occasions they will come into our father's room and have a chat.
What we do find, is that
on most occasions when visiting we always have to ask for a towel for the bathroom as there is nothing present. As for meals, he rarely complains (and he has a good appetite) the only thing is he struggles to eat is meat as he has no bottom set, a bit more care here would help, also when bringing a cup of tea around I have to say it's dreadful, half cup and lukewarm (and I mean lukewarm).
We believe a better communication between the home and the family could be better especially with health issues that we have had in the past.
Overall satisfactory but improvements can be made. What I will say is some of the staff are very good to our father and we appreciate that.

My mum went into Clarendon Manor in March 2023 aged 93. She had been in hospital after a bad fall and it was found that she was unable to return home due to her frailty and mind confusion. At first, she was well enough to join other residents in the day room and even a couple of craft afternoons but
gradually she became more frail and eventually was diagnosed with dementia/Alzheimer's so stayed in her room. I always found the staff brilliant with her, assisting her to eat when she couldn't manage herself etc. Her room was always spotless and her laundry too. Sadly mum passed away on January 12th 2025. I can't thank the staff enough for all they did to make her last couple of years comfortable.

Mum has lived here for nearly three years. I feel all her needs are met with patient and kind carers. Her health both physically and mentally has deteriorated but she has been well looked after. Her room is always spotless and she enjoys the meals provided.

Mum has been a resident for over two years and is fairly content. She is treated well by most staff but (she says) occasionally roughly by some agency staff. Her room is nice and she enjoys her own furniture etc. Mum has been cared for particularly well during illness and after a very bad fall. Nursing
care provided was exceptionally good. Food is adequate but mum is sometimes given meals she cannot eat or has not ordered. Her hot meals are often only tepid when they arrive (she lives a long way from the kitchen). There are very few activities and little time to do one to one or wheel mum to visit a friend. Cleanliness is excellent and mum enjoys a weekly bath and hair do. Time taken to answer mum's bell can be fairly long. Facilities: quite good apart from the 'cinema' which seems to be used as a store room. Attention to personal details can be poor e.g. tea sometimes still arrives with no sugar; hearing aids are not always charged at night.

My sister in law has been in the home now for about 18 months. Staff are unfailingly kind and understanding. She is happy and has lost that sense of loneliness. Indeed, her mental health has improved hugely thanks to good regular meals and an understanding environment.

The care my mother received was exemplary. Every carer took time to chat with her and check she was well looked after. She was treated with dignity and respect. Her last few days were stressful for me but they kept me informed and looked after me as well as my mum. She could not have been in a better

My mum joined Clarendon Manor in October 2021 with Parkinson's and very limited mobility. From day one all of the staff went out of their way to get to know her and provide the best care. Visiting friends and family were always greeted warmly and we were regularly updated on how things were going. I
could ring at any time and ask any questions, nothing was too much trouble. Because I lived at a distance I also found the relative's online hub really helpful where I could easily see detail on areas such as how mum was feeling, whether she had any visitors or what medication she was on. I really felt well-informed. I take huge comfort that Mum had her final days in such a caring environment. I am scoring 5 stars as I can't think of any areas where I could suggest improvements.

My father had to go into Clarendon Manor unexpectedly. We, as a family, were welcomed with open arms and looked after as much as my dad. We were allowed to visit when we wanted, which showed they had nothing to hide. They really care.

My mother came to Clarendon Manor having been diagnosed with vascular dementia. She has received very good care and understanding. The staff got to know her and respected her wishes wherever possible. Medically she was regularly checked and supported appropriately. Regular records were kept. Her condition
declined steadily, all symptoms were addressed. The local surgery nurse came out regularly.

Our dad was at Clarendon Manor for four years. During his stay, he was well looked after and the staff adored him. They treated him with respect and dignity. Some of the carers used to go the extra mile with him as he was Indian and English was not his first language. The girls spoke in his native language
which made our dad feel at home. Great staff and care provided.

The team are pushed to provide the service you would want your friend or relative to receive. Food is left for them to eat as there is no time to assist individuals with meals. Clothing goes missing in the central laundry. Long period of time left on their own in rooms.

My mum arrived at the home in February, I was worried she wouldn't like it but to my surprise, she settled in straight away. The staff have made her most welcome, nothing is too much trouble. Whenever I visit, she is happy and seems content, chats away to the other residents, even joins in the odd activity.
All in all, she is happy and relaxed and I know she is being looked after with care and compassion.
