I have been requested to provide a review online and could not be more happy to do so. My aunty has been in Rugby Care Centre since January. Although she has relocated to Rugby, to be closer to her family, Rugby Care Centre has been fantastic in helping her settle in. As part of her wider family, I
can say she could not be better cared for anywhere. We have peace of mind knowing that all her needs are attended to with care and dignity.

My granddad is very happy living at Rugby Care Centre, he is well looked after and we have never had any complaints from him at all. It is clean and tidy and the menu is healthy and suited to my granddad's needs. We are always given a wonderful and warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble for the
staff!

I was initially apprehensive about my friend going into a care home, but after visiting her, I find all my fears were groundless. Rugby Care Centre is a clean, warm and lovely place and the staff are friendly and professional. I was made to feel at home during my visit and I can't praise the staff and
management highly enough for the quality of life my aunt has.

We got a warm welcome from all staff, manager to the cook, a cup of tea, a room was free for us to talk to mum without disruption or her wandering off. Which was nice as it gave you a chance to be a normal family again. Every time I visit I feel happy as I know my mum is happy, even though she thinks
I'm her sister.
The staff talk to her at her level, with dignity and she is clean and her hair is always combed.

I had a week's respite stay at the Rugby Care Centre and had an absolutely wonderful time there - it felt as thought I was on holiday and really enjoyed the food and activities along with the great company and very caring staff. Looking forward to my next respite stay.

Mum has had dementia for 12 years and up until March 2016, was cared for by my dad at home with the help of carers and my sister and I. Our biggest fear was that Mum would decline rapidly when she went into a home - as had happened on the 3 or 4 occasions. She had gone for respite when dad first was
diagnosed with cancer. Mum has been here since March 2016 and I can honestly say she is looking better and really cared for by each and every member of the wonderful team here. They are all kind and thoughtful and nothing seems too much trouble.
It's a shame we had to go outside of our own county of Northamptonshire to find such a home but we are very happy indeed to have found Serene Care Home just over the border is Warwickshire.
Mum is totally incommunicative. She does not walk or talk or really show any sign of understanding or emotion. She has to be in bed for 95% of the time and regularly turned and changed. She is looked after really well - better than anywhere else except at home with dad.
We would highly recommend this home.

The Rugby Care Centre is a really fantastic home. The staff really do try and make you feel like you are at home and it's a very relaxing environment.
The food is nice, the atmosphere is fun and the bedroom was good enough.
The home do not different between treating local authority and private residents
equally nice and everyone feels like they are a part of a big family.

My uncle stayed at the care centre for a week and really enjoyed himself.
They really seemed to take good care of him and it took a big weight off our minds that he was ok.
The home staff were friendly and made my uncle feel very welcomed.
He stayed in a nice ensuite room with a view of the garden
and was able to enjoy the freshly baked cakes, teas and coffees there.
There was an activities person that made a lot of effort so I was told and we would have no reservations in bringing him back

It has been really good visiting my friend here for the past few months. Every time I come here, I get greeted by friendly staff, get offered teas/coffees and get to see some nice activities going on. It's a nice fun environment and it feels more like home! The personalised boxes outside of the residents
rooms are all nice touches too.

Current Review Score: 7.0 (6.998)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.0 (6.998) out of 10 for Rugby Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.5 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 3.528 for Rugby Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (17 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 3.528

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.47 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rugby Care Centre is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.8 = 0.345

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
