Everyone at Rugby Care is really friendly and always willing to chat which makes a nice atmosphere in the home. The staff here are always attentive and they listen to the residents. So things are constantly getting better.

My sister came to Rugby Care as an emergency respite resident. Her room was really nice, much nicer than the ones I saw elsewhere in different care homes and she really enjoyed her time with the staff and residents. The food was good and the activities were fun.

My Uncle has been in Rugby Care Home for over 6 years. There have been improvements since the new owners took over. He is happy and they look after him very well. I have always been pleased with his care.

I found the home welcoming, bright and cheerful. The staff were very caring, taking time with the residents. I shared a lunch with my mum, as I had travelled three hours to see her. The food was well presented, hot but not hot enough to cause burns. Staff were on hand to help those who had difficulty
eating. The bedroom was clean and well appointed with a view to a well attended garden. Access was available to the garden which I am sure would be appreciated in good weather. Ramps and handrails in place. My mother was always set against leaving her own home but says she is very happy there.

My grandad was in Rugby Care Centre and the staff were good. I recently came to see the home again and it looks so much nicer and I saw a lot of the old staff that I liked and a few new faces.

Since coming into the home from hospital, mum has really improved. She is enjoying the activities and eating more. She is taking an interest in things going on around her. At nearly 101 she is finding new friends and companionship in the home.

I came into the home as a matter of urgency as my wife (my carer) was taken to hospital and I was in the within the same day. I had a great en-suite room and the ground floor. The staff were excellent and the food was great too. I would come back. The manager and staff took great care of me.

I stayed at Rugby Care Centre in June 2015 and I was treated like a princess. The staff tended to all my needs and nothing was too much trouble. The owners were about to start a big refurbishment and I hope to come back and see it once its done.

I came here for a couple of weeks and was very surprised how lovely I was treated. The room was great, staff very caring, food tasty, there were lots of events organised that was very fun. Over Christmas there were parties, secret Santa from the bank and clothes store. There were lots of events that
I could attend and that was only next door. I would love to stay in touch with my new friends and If I need to come back I hope they have a room for me ad they took such good care of me.

I stayed at Rugby Centre for a 10 day respite straight from hospital and everyone was very nice. They treated me very nicely, I had a nice room and I enjoyed the salon and the cinema. If I need long term care then I would love to come back here.

My mother was transferred here from the hospital today and my first impressions are this home is first class. The manager welcomed us and did everything we asked, the staff are also very good and I am very satisfied that my mother will be well looked after.

This home has the most up to date facilities. It's staff from the manager to the nurses everyone else are very good. When receiving my mother-in-law from the hospital, the transfer was excellent and could not have been made more welcome.

We have been very impressed with the family atmosphere at RUGBY CARE CENTRE
My mother had to go to a rest home for short term care because of circumstances and was fairly unhappy for the first few days
Her family, who all live at a distance away, were very surprised when she soon became very happy
and positive about being there.
We were even more surprised when she told us that she wanted to stay there and not go back to her home where she lived for 69 years
She appreciates the caring style and good humour of the staff ; she is enjoying the meals; she looks forward to the activities.
She has the chance to look out of the front window to watch people and traffic go by; she has a quiet room at the back with a garden view
At age 92 she is enjoying this time in her life and has the reassurance of care staff and nursing staff on hand should matters arise.
Christmas 2015 was a very different but happy celebration for her at the care centre and she is looking forward to her birthday 'party' in January, because she knows that the staff will make it special for her with her family living away. In some ways the staff have become her family and Rugby Care centre is now her home.

Current Review Score: 6.0 (6.047)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 6.0 (6.047) out of 10 for Rugby Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 2.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 2.875 for Rugby Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (7 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 2.875

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.172 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rugby Care Centre is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.8 = 0.172

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
