Sycamores is situated in Sydenham on the edge of Leamington Spa, benefiting from being near a small parade of shops, including a post office and fish and chip shop, as well as a bus route.

The home offers long-term and respite care for older people. Designed as three households, each household has a living area with a lounge, dining area and kitchenette, where people can make their own snacks and drinks, and staff will always be on hand to prepare hot refreshments if requested.

Residents are encouraged to pursue their interests and the team plans regular trips out in the local community. Residents also benefit from an onsite hair and beauty salon and there are plenty of spaces to socialise and spend time with friends and family.

We've just got home from visiting Mum. I wanted to say how welcoming the staff were (as usual) and how pleased we are that Mum appears to be settling in. It was particularly nice to be shown a video of Mum dancing yesterday.

Really good living here. The staff are angels and they are soo good. They go out of their way. The manager is so caring, and interested in me as a person. Her daughter is a carer and helps me, she is a beautiful person.

Permanent staff are generally good but there is not enough of them. This home has been without a manager full time for some time. (We now have on 1/4/19 and seems ok.) During this time standards have slipped. Home needs part-time gardener/handyman.
Overall my sister gets treated pretty well, all her
needs are taken care of.

We were made to feel most welcome and given a tour of the home. We were not rushed, asked lots of questions, and also spoke to other members of the team.


Mom has settled in well, and they are treated with dignity and respect, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. All staff and Managers are

approachable at any time. Each time we visit mom, she is clean and has gained 5kg since being there in 2 months, which is fabulous, as she wasn't eating before.
Mom looks so much more healthier, and the ambience of the home is wonderful. Everyone is treated as family. We particularly like that there are no restriction times on visiting, and you can even eat with your relative/friend.


Mom always speaks highly of the staff and says that they are all lovely. Mom has dementia and can get frustrated at times, when mom gets this way the staff will call us for her, and pass the phone to ourselves, so we can speak with her and reassure her that everything is ok.

My mother was admitted in April 2017. We have found the staff to be consistently, very caring and they have time to listen.


The food is generally good, with small amounts and often and the chef knows what is liked.


My mother really appreciates having her hair and nails done regularly.

My mother has been at Sycamores for almost 3 years. She is in a safe, secure environment and the low staff turnover contributes to the continuity of care provided. The support and understanding given to myself and my family from management and carers is invaluable - it's a very caring care home!

I have never seen such an atmosphere in a care home.
The desk staff sat with a resident with dementia sitting next to them shouting while they got on with their work, just patting them and keeping them happy.
They all, always, have time for me and my aunt and seem genuinely fond of her.
She loves
to go to the shops and is taken regularly.
I am so impressed!
The younger carers look really happy in their work, it is all so good.
I was delighted that my aunt was able to stay there after her emergency admission.

Olu Ajala

Job Title: Home Manager

I’ve been at WCS Care since 2019 and have worked in residential care for over 12 years.


Leaving the banking industry as a manager, I started my career in health and social care with a passion to deliver high-quality care and develop in the sector. Over time, I’ve worked my way up from domiciliary and frontline healthcare to senior care, care team management and most recently becoming the Home Manager at Sycamores.


A good day for me is when I’ve made a difference to the people who live with us. If I’ve made someone’s day, be it through a friendly chat, arranging a special event for them that they loved or the care we provide, I know I’ve done my job.


I’m also passionate about supporting my team to progress and shine in their roles, continually developing, learning new skills and thinking outside the box.


Outside of work, you’ll find me up to lots of other things such as playing music, reading, travelling or writing!
