Wonderful staff, home from home, and mum has settled well.

This home is like a home from home. Very clean, decorated lovely, no smells. Staff are excellent they make you feel really welcome. I can't fault it at all.

Having had to put both parents into residential care homes in the past four years, what I and my wife have found is that modern is not always best. This is very much a home from home, the residents are made to feel as if they are part of a family and this also goes for family when you visit. Nothing
is too much trouble for the staff and management. Not having eaten here myself, I am going by what my mother states and that is very good, almost as good as when Mum cooked at one in Hanley Swan. It is good value for money, kindness etc. Large and modern homes are more impersonal.

I really can't fault The Stables it's very friendly staff and lovely homely feel to it. I feel very lucky that my mum got a place there with only 7 rooms. You certainly get the personal touches there.

The Stables care home is a welcoming environment with individualised personal space having good social interaction.
They go out of their way to meet the nutritional needs of individuals while promoting dignity and respect of individuals meeting all healthcare and mental health needs with full support
with personal care.
This is fulfilled by the enthusiastic owners who have created this lovely home-from-home environment brought together with a carefully picked care manager and the team of carers who all seem to work together seamlessly and with the same passion and values as the owners.
It's all down to the above that has made the transition for my mother from living independently to living in a care home go so smoothly for her and us the family, far better than our wildest expectations.

The excellent care my husband is receiving at The Stables Care Home has made a very positive difference in a difficult time when losing his independence. The Stables is a very comfortable and welcoming environment/home to live in. The staff are very professional with a warm, kind, caring attitude. They
are very supportive of residents' individual needs and interests, as well as developing good communication and working relationships with residents' family and friends.

My uncle receives excellent care at The Stables - they know him well and treat him with dignity and I believe they genuinely enjoy him as a person, as well as care for him. They are always open to helping accommodate family visits and give a warm welcome when we arrive. The staff arrange for us to have
space away from my uncle's room - in the conservatory - which enables us to have some privacy and enjoy time with him. We are grateful for their care of my uncle.

Since Mum's first entry into The Stables she has been treated with kindness, respect, and love from the management and staff. Her private bedroom is well-appointed and kept spotless by the staff.
Being safe in the knowledge that Mum is being well looked after has taken a big weight off my shoulders.

When I first learned that my sister was going into a care home, I was terrified but when she was moved to The Stables Care Home I couldn't have wished for a better place for her. Everything about it is first-class which puts my mind a bit more at rest. The staff are excellent in all aspects of their
job caring, patient, loving and understanding. Always there with understanding with relatives and visitors, with a smile and a warm welcome. I couldn't wish for my sister to be cared for at this awful time by any other people. Doing anything and being there for my sister when I can't or able to. I thank them all from the bottom of my heart and hope and pray my sister is always looked after at The Stables as there isn't anywhere else I would like her to be. Thank you all.

Lovely care home whom provide exceptional care, nothing is too much trouble we felt very happy that we could leave mum for respite care in the knowledge that she would be very well looked after. From the managers down to the care assistants the level of care that mum received was just wonderful, the
staff are very supportive and would make time to have a chat and put your mind at rest. We have no worries about mum having a place at The Stables hopefully in the near future.

Mum went into The Stables care home for a two week respite break. Whilst in there the management/staff/carers involved us all as a family and we were always made to feel very welcome and put at ease whilst mum was in their care. It's a lovely professional family run home and only having seven rooms
each resident is treated with care and kindness. Everyone that visited mum commented on how well she looked and was being well looked after and how the staff treated the other residents and commented on what a lovely place The Stables is. Will have no hesitation in using The Stables again or recommending it to others. Excellent Thank you!

A wonderful care home that supported Mum and us from day one. The staff are exceptional and all are fantastic. They have helped Mum settle in so quickly and I can already see a dramatic improvement in Mum. The home itself is a home from home, cosy and safe, and Mum settled within just two weeks. She
feels happy, safe and enjoys everybody's company. The care standards are high and consistent. Brilliant team. Thank you.

After what was a difficult decision to place Mum into a care home, the management and staff/carers at The Stables have supported us with care and compassion. I feel Mum's needs are being met. Very pleasant experience at The Stables. Warmly greeted, test taken for Covid - showed to be negative. Allowed to have lunch with my brother, a patient at this facility. Delicious cooked meal with dessert, served in a separate dining area to be private. Courtesy and kindness.

I had not seen my friend for a few years and I found him looking well, happy and very well cared for. This is such a wonderful place for him. I am not able to comment on activities, security and management but I am sure they are all very good. The Stables very kindly gave me lunch in the conservatory

Catherine Arnold

Joined: 2004

Catherine Arnold started her career working as a nurse in 1972, with an immediate love for the job and natural care for her patients she always wanted her own Care Home so she could look after people. In 2004 Catherine had a purpose built 3 bed Home built and it was named The Stables. In 2008 with a Big waiting list she decided to extend the property into a 7 Bedroom Care Home that we have today. Catherine is a very hands on owner with a can do attitude who works close with her son Jamie Arnold who runs the financial side of the Business along with Nicola Russell who is the Care Home Manager. At The Stables we are like one Big family and we take great pleasure in giving the best care we can for our Residents. All staff have this great attitude and dedication for the job.

Jamie is a Co-Owner at The Stables Care Home, having spent 15 years in the motor trade Jamie decided he wanted to take a different adventure in his life and he wanted to join the family business. Bringing a wide range of experience, he's brought his knowledge from his previous job to organise some fantastic events for the Residents, staff and the community, such as the Seaside day event and Elf day where we raised money for Charity. Jamie oversees the Business side of the home and is always here for the staff and Residents.

Nicola joined The Stables Care Home in 2007. Nicola fitted in straight away at The Stables and loved the family-feel atmosphere that The Stables is all about. Through hard work and recognition she progressed into becoming deputy manager. Nicola worked very hard to pass her NVQ Level 5 and in April 2019 was promoted to Care Home Manager. Nicola looks after the day to day running of the care side of the home and is very passionate about The Stables. Nicola loves the fact that at The Stables we are one BIG FAMILY.
