Ashfields Care Home is a quarter of a mile from Heanor town centre.

Many rooms open to a series of courtyards, gardens and pretty landscaped paths which provide secure and sheltered outside space for your enjoyment.

Ashfields is a highly regarded luxury environment for people with either nursing, physical Disability, End of Life or Personal Care Needs. Ashfields also a Dementia unit.

Nursing care is provided including to people with physical disability, long-term or life-limiting conditions and personal (residential) care is provided to older people on a long-term, convalescent and short stay basis.

The 24-hour cover is provided by a qualified, experienced and committed care team specifically recruited for their sensitivity, dedication and professional expertise in this area of care.

At Ashfields, residents are free to eat your meals in dining rooms or in your own room.

Ashfields are happy to provide meals for visitors as well. Fresh home-cooked food is nutritionally balanced and they cater for special requirements such as vegetarian or soft foods.

My Father-in-law was bed bound. He could hardly talk due to throat cancer in the 90's, he had a brain tumour which was growing rapidly but inoperable and also prostate cancer. He was checked on every two hours, he was assisted with meals and drinks and he loved coca cola!
The home was a lovely place,
they were very welcoming to us, always had a smile, very kind to me, offering drinks and sandwiches. Towards the end of his life, they had someone in the room with him until we got there. He has been in several homes but this was the best by a mile.

Ashfields is excellent. I couldn't find a better place for my wife, The staff look after her very well and they look after me when I visit. I have a cup of tea as soon as I arrive. My wife received high quality care and is very happy. If my wife is having a bad night the carers sit with her and comfort
her. When I was ill for 3 months, the home arranged for my wife to ring me on a regular basis.

My mother has received very good care and the staff have been very helpful attentive and welcoming. The only criticisms I would wish to declare is that on one particular Sunday the care home was very understaffed and Ashfields Care Home mother had buzzed several times for toileting. This also happened
a couple of times in the week and although my mother should be non weight bearing on her plastered ankle, she made an attempt to go to the toilet herself, unable to wait any longer.

You have helped my mum so much in these last few moments of her life. The house is beautiful, the staff attentive. They made us feel welcome to spend as much time with mum as we needed, even during the night.

Since mum has moved into Ashfields she has been well taken care of and her health has improved greatly. The staff are excellent and really friendly, they always take time to chat and listen to mum when she is in need of company or help. The meals are good and the residents can go to the dining room
or have it served in their rooms if they prefer. The activities co-ordinator is really excellent, and organises plenty of games and activities to stimulate their interest. I would recommend Ashfields to anyone for care for any member of the family.

Barbara has a very important role at Ashfields as she works alongside Management, Residents/Residents Families and Staff very closely.

Tracy has worked at Ashfields for 16 years now, she started in the laundry, then cleaning and progressed on to Head of Housekeeping. Tracy now fulfills a very rewarding role as Hospitality Manager, a role which she greatly enjoys and for which she has a natural aptitude for.
