Celebrating 23 years of operation, Bramble Lodge is a charming home situated in scenic surroundings, but with convenient transport routes, which is dedicated to the highest quality of residential and dementia care.

Bramble Lodge holds the following major awards:

Derbyshire Country Council - ‘Derbyshire Premium Award’ awarded in 2016 in recognition of the performance and delivery of Dementia Care to achieve the 15 Dementia Care Standards.

Derbyshire County Council - ‘Derbyshire Dignity Award’ in 2019 in recognition of work to promote dignity and respect.

Passionate about maintaining a residence that is ideal for the practice of modern care, Bramble Lodge now has three purpose-built extensions that offer en-suite bedrooms, while residents also have access to four comfortable lounges, spacious open areas, patios and gardens.

A spacious activities room allows residents to support a versatile lifestyle and personal interests, while the home also has its own hairdressing salon, nail bar, reminiscence lounge, activity area, sensory area and library.

Day care packages are available, as well as a dedicated respite care, with the home looking to make a positive difference to community life in as many ways as possible.

The home operates a Public Service Vehicle licensed minibus for day care transportation and trips out. Drivers are fully trained and qualified to transport staff and residents in comfort and safety.

All staff are trained to the highest standards, whatever their role. This enables them to deliver high standards of care with understanding and dignity.

Care seems excellent. We visit (usually) three times a week and have never seen anything we don't like. My Aunt is always clean and usually doing something (like a crossword). Her hair is always brushed and looks nice. I am grateful that the staff always help her into a wheelchair so we can go and sit
together in a quiet corner, have a tea/coffee together and chat. Twice a year we book the cafe and have a family party. The staff set out the room for us with cups/plates/wine glasses. it is a lovely home. they even let the dog visit (which delights my Aunt).

I have had experience of many care homes over the years and would rate Bramble Lodge among the best. The staff are caring and attentive, it is not the easiest job to carry out. I find the staff and management will listen and take action to help the residents.

We are very happy with the care Bramble Lodge provides for my mum. The care, safety and security are such an improvement to her life and wellbeing.
The Bramble Lodge team are excellent in general and very kind towards Mum and she knows she is safe. She has never smiled as much as she does now, we
feel she knows she is safe and that's down to everyone at Bramble Lodge. Finally, a word to promote the gardens, getting outside is important and Mum really enjoys the gardens and flowers come the spring and summer months.

My Mother has been a resident at Bramble Lodge for over two years. In that time, mainly due to the fact that I take my father to see his wife, I have observed probably most of the staff at work in a wide variety of roles. I have always found the staff to be very dedicated and hard-working, showing great
compassion towards both Mother and Father and myself. Not only that, itis obvious that they show this compassion towards all residents and some go above and beyond to support us in what is a difficult decision to make.

My Aunt has been a resident at Bramble Lodge for nearly 2 1/2 years.
She seems happy and content and very well looked after on all counts.
Without exception, the staff are caring, kind and very patient. There are lots of activities and entertainment and medical check-ups as required.
I visit 3 or
4 times a week and am always made welcome and visitors are free to make drinks etc. There is a room available for social events organised by relatives with crockery etc provided by the home.
I am always impressed by the fact that the staff recognise visitors and know which resident they belong to!
I would not hesitate to recommend Bramble Lodge to anyone.

My husband moved to Bramble Lodge aged 54 years, initially for respite care but this soon became a permanent arrangement. We, meaning my husband, myself and family have always been very happy with the welcome, the care, support and professionalism of the team from managers, carers, cleaning and kitchen
staff. I visit most days and at various times of the day and see the daily running of the home and feel ALL staff are kind, caring, respectful and help provide a safe, caring, secure environment for my husband and his family.

My grandad decided to move into a care home when he started to have more difficulty at home, as his health had deteriorated. They tried carers at home but it wasn't enough for him to feel safe so we found a place for him at Bramble Lodge. He looked 100 times better in just a couple of days and his usual
joking personality returned. The staff cared for him like he was their own grandad which was so lovely to see.

My grandma went to Bramble Lodge for daycare for several months. She was anxious about leaving my grandad due to her Alzheimer's but staff were always so kind and welcoming that she started to look forward to it. They helped her to shower and manage her catheter and were helpful and caring towards my
grandad too, which really put him at ease each week.

My Mother is currently resident at Bramble Lodge and a few years ago my Mother-in-law was there too. We had no hesitation in choosing it for Mum. She has dementia and the staff and environment are so good for people with this condition. Everywhere is clean and bright and we are always made welcome.
There are lots of activities - something for everyone. A great place for all.

The training extends from director level to all members of staff. Our registered manager has a degree from Bradford University in the subject. My mum went into Bramble Lodge for respite care following a stay in hospital for a broken hip. She was understandably reluctant to go but could not return home at that point.


Her room was spacious, comfortable and private. She was able to have her own tv for when she wanted her own space but was

always welcome to go to the communal areas where there was a variety of activities available if she felt she wanted to.


The staff were all lovely and couldn’t do enough for her. We felt confident that she was being looked after and her complex medical needs were being met. We also felt confident that she was safe and secure as security measures were in place to stop anyone wandering away.


The home has a lovely warm and relaxed atmosphere and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

My friend who had dementia was resident at Bramble Lodge for about six months. I cannot praise too highly the level of care she received from all the staff. Her personal needs were catered for and adapted as her health deteriorated.
The gardens are delightful and provided interest for my friend
who was a keen gardener when I took her around them in a wheelchair.
The food is good. The programme of activities is very good and when my friend was no longer able to participate she received one-to-one interaction instead.


When my friend died, the staff did all they could to make us feel cared for as well. We were not pressured into clearing my friend's room, it was all taken care of for us.


This is a lovely home. Thank you
