The staff at Ashmere have time and patience to look after every resident's individual needs. With care and respect they also make sure the resident's personal appearance are of importance, with a good hygiene policy. They also have a wide variety of activities and entertainment to keep the residents
occupied. Considering the ages and disabilities of some residents, they do extremely well. Overall I find the staff very helpful and polite.

I am Registered Manager of both Codnor Park Care Home and The Firs Nursing Home.


I love the feeling of going home knowing that something that I have been able to do has had a massive positive impact on the people living in our home.


The residents drive my passion. I have so much love for them, seeing them smile and enjoy living at the home and being able to support people who are on end of life care, knowing that you have provided exactly what they have needed in that time.


I often forget I’m at work because it feels like home. The people around are like family and I love them all dearly.
One day we will be old and I’d like to know that there is someone to fight for me the way I fight for them.
