What is your favourite thing about your job?
I couldn't choose just one thing, I love everything about my job, especially knowing that I and my team are making sure all of our residents have full bellies. That makes my day!
What do you enjoy doing in your time away from work?
I love to spend my spare time with my friends and family.
If you could give prospective resident and their family a bit of advice for choosing a suitable home for their loved ones, what would it be?
Make sure you look around and speak to staff and other people who have connections with the home. Not forgetting to read all reviews, it's a big decision!

I'm Shelley and I'm a cook here at Richmond in Shirebrook.
When did you join the Richmond team?
A little over 5 months now.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
I love being able to do what I enjoy, cooking! Also, I've really enjoyed being able to get to know our residents.
What do you enjoy doing in your time away from work?
I spend lots of time with my family outside of work and of course cooking for them. I'm also a frequent visitor to rock gigs with my friends too!
If you could give prospective resident and their family a bit of advice for choosing a suitable home for their loved ones, what would it be?
My one piece of advice would be this, find a home with staff like ours. Staff that treat your loved ones like part of their own family.

I love hearing all the stories, sitting and chatting with our residents learning all about them and their lives is easily my favourite thing about my job!
What do you enjoy doing in your time away from work?
In my free time, I love being outside and taking my dog Dolly on walks. I also spend a lot of time with my family and socialising with friends, we love going out for meals and trying new places to eat!
If you could give prospective resident and their family a bit of advice for choosing a suitable home for their loved ones, what would it be?
My advice would be don't settle, read all the available reviews and information and make sure that you are choosing somewhere that not only fits the needs of your loved one but somewhere that is suitable for them to enjoy living too!
