King William Residential Home is bursting with character, having once been a public house. Now transformed into a 28 bed residential home, it benefits from some truly unique and individual bedrooms. A number of residents have pets and your pets will always be considered. The standard of the bedroom accommodation means that you will have to go a long way to find better.

There are fantastic communal facilities with a large comfortable lounge where residents socialise and regular entertainment is staged. There is a further, newly decorated garden lounge with access to a lovely spacious garden, with raised beds for those who like to potter. There is also a fully equipped craft room to pursue all kinds of hobbies from arts and crafts, to painting and model making. This home is very active with regular trips to the shops and local attractions, live entertainment, access to centralised facilities and exercise classes, there is a whole lot to keep you busy at King William.

An onsite hairdressing salon means you will be looking your best and with regular visits from a chiropodist, dentist, physiotherapist and GP when required, you can feel very well looked after indeed. Staff are well trained and committed, they go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need.

The care home is clean and well heated. All meals are well cooked, varied and good quality. The staff are very conscientious, kind-hearted and cheerful. The home has lots of activities and events and provide good entertainment and retain the interest of residents.

Since my mother-in-law was admitted into the King William Residential Home we, my wife and I have been most impressed with the care afforded to her, she, my mother-in-law is well looked after and nothing is too much trouble for the staff.

My Dad has had a great 3 years at the King William. The staff have been excellent and were very caring. They were also very supportive to the famaily when he became ill.

Dad has been resident since December 2015 and in all that time we have been impressed with every aspect of the King William's care, dedication and constant cheerfulness. Dad is in his 100th year and is very happy and grateful for everything they do to meet his needs. Catering is excellent and the activities
are varied and imaginative.

Every time I visit, the home is always clean and tidy. Residents are dressed and well cared for. I have seen the meals served at lunchtime and they are wholesome home cooking. My sister always says the food is good and there is a choice.

A fantastic team with a brilliant manager and events organiser. It is beautifully decorated and tastefully finished to a very high standard.

The general care of my mother has been exceptional. All the staff seem to care genuinely, however, incidents like clothes, shoes and especially underwear and her hearing aids going missing have made some visits stressful, and some useless.
The room is lovely that she sleeps in and her hair and nails
are always immaculate. She has always been a smart attractive woman and this carries on at 91.

From what I can see of the home when I visit my sister, it seems to be well run. I think sometimes, it would better to see their regular GP rather than the home's GP as they know the patients better. My sister seems to be well cared for and we have no serious complaints. The layout of the lounge could
be better planned out and those with mobility issues may sometimes struggle.

I am quite happy with King William as a care home for my mother. Good food, clean bedroom, friendly staff and good care. If anything I would like to see more use made of the good outside garden when the weather is suitable, a nice conservatory would be good.

Through my personal experience with King William of Ripley, I would not hesitate to recommend the care home highly enough. The staff were totally professional in all manners from the care staff to the manager and domestics. They all went above and beyond the call of duty. I was always greeted with a
smile and a welcoming attitude. They supported me right to the end. I could not have wished for better care for my mother. Please don't hesitate to use their services.

My mum has been in the home for 6 months and has really settled in well.
All the staff are really caring and provide excellent one to one support for mum. Mum really feels at home and now looks at the staff as part of her extended family.

After a number of different care homes which we reviewed, we visited the King William. We were bowled over by the warmth and care we received on a spot visit. My grandmother has lived there since October 2016. She looks so well cared for, the entertainment which is daily gets everyone involved, not
to mention the hairdresser who comes on site to the house salon. I popped in the other day for a chat and catch up, was offered a cuppa and biscuits whilst my nan had her nails done. We chatted about the upcoming social event at an Easter fair and was shown pictures of my nan doing crafts the previous week. The staff are caring thoughtful and the manager is always around for advice along with her key worker.
