Nestled amidst the hills in the verdant Peak District town of Glossop, Pennine Care Centre is a residential care home that provides 24-hour person-centred quality care in a warm and welcoming setting for all those living in the home. The home is easily accessible by major road networks from Manchester and Sheffield, making visits convenient for loved ones, while still giving residents the luxury of peace and tranquillity afforded by the picturesque landscape.

Pennine Care Centre has two fully secure accommodation suites, each with lift access, Pennine and Moorland. Moorland is a male-only unit for residents with special requirements; while Pennine is a lively mixed unit which caters to all other needs. The home has undergone modernisation projects since 2020 and now has sixty bedrooms of varying configurations such as large bedrooms, several ensuite rooms and a number of communal areas, keeping residents cosy and happy in an atmosphere that feels just like being at home.

Smiles, tears and laughter are a huge feature of the home, and the team always endeavour to share experiences and comfort residents and their families in every situation. The well-qualified and dedicated care team is always on hand, providing personalised care to every need a resident has. They are attentive and happy to spend time with residents and their families to ensure that they learn as much as possible about each person’s life story and what makes them content at home.

Residents are encouraged to lead a lifestyle of their choosing and are treated with respect and dignity. Care planning, nutrition planning and room decor is tailored to the individual preferences of residents. All meals are freshly cooked in the kitchen, and they offer a wide range at every mealtime to satisfy everyone’s tastes and dietary requirements.

A very positive experience. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond with their care of the residents. Good, varied meals and plenty of it. The meals always have vegetables. The managers are really approachable and keep you well informed.

I have been very pleased with the level of care given to my nana. Her dignity has been of high priority and I have no concerns. The staff work hard at maintaining a clean, safe, warm and friendly environment. I would definitely recommend it.

Staff are very pleasant and caring. Nice to have a joke with the resident instead of being like military. It is nice to see them laugh and smile. But, to be honest, the food isn't very good, very unappetising. The rooms could be cleaner and in need of decoration. The electric socket behind my son's
bed needs attention and I have asked more than once about it.

I bring my wife here three times a week during the day for day care and she enjoys her short stay (6hr days) at the care centre as she has dementia and may need additional help. Staff are very helpful and caring no problems.
