Stanton Manor is not just a care home, it is a real home for your loved one in every way, the care and dedication of all the staff is exceptional, mum spent 4 years and a few months at Stanton and the team is truly amazing and nothing is to much trouble for them. For us having mum at Stanton was a real
privilege, it gave us what money can't buy "peace of mind" knowing that every day, she was so happy, well cared for and importantly shown love, respect and that she wasn't just a resident, that her individual care needs mattered and were always met. Stanton Manor has also been for us as a family a place where we have been completely supported by the team. It isn't easy having to consider moving a loved one into care, but for us because of what
Stanton is and stands for it has been an exceptional experience and we are so grateful that mum got to spend the last few years of her life in this amazing home.

My mum has recently passed away but had been a resident at Stanton Manor since April 2016. When my sister and I were advised to look for a residential care home we did our research. Many homes were a definite 'no' seconds after entering but Stanton Manor was different and we knew immediately that we'd
found the right place. My sister and I were extremely upset that our mum had to go into a home but the staff provided care, support, and guidance, not only to our mum but to both of us through a very difficult time, something we greatly appreciated and will never forget.
Stanton Manor is homely, and staff build up good relationships with all the residents. Food is home-cooked (relatives are encouraged to join their family members for meals), and entertainment is regularly provided either within the home or through trips out. All medical issues are dealt with efficiently and detailed records are kept. Whatever you wish for your relative, the Management and staff go above and beyond to provide it.

My Dad has been here for 5 months and I can't express my gratitude enough for how amazing and approachable every single one of the staff is. My Dad spent 6 months failed by the NHS and previous care home. This left him extremely untrusting of anyone but myself. I was shocked on his first meet with staff
as it was the first time in 6 months I had seen him engage with anyone other than myself (apparently they had nice smiles), I instantly knew I needed him to be at Stanton Manor. I visit Dad numerous times a week unannounced and I am always met with a smile and a cuppa. I never thought I would find anyone to care for Dad like he deserved and every day I count my blessings and even trust their judgement over my own. They organise lots of events and even when no organised activities are on laughter and chit-chat is heard from the lounge. The cook is more than a cook, I see the rapport she has with the residents and her persistence with Dad is amazing. I feel like I've gained a new family.

Stanton Manor is a really lovely caring home. Nothing is too much trouble. From the moment my mum entered we were all made so welcome. All the staff work so hard to make sure the residents are well cared for. They have lovely meals and great entertainment. I am always informed and kept up to date about
my mum. She is so settled and loves being there. It was the best decision we made, Mum has come on leaps and bounds, we couldn't wish for anything more. So thank you to the manager and all the staff. You all do a fantastic job.

I would absolutely not recommend Stanton Manor, particularly if your loved one has dementia even though they claim to be Dementia/Alzheimers friendly. I will never forget how Stanton Manor robbed my family of precious time with my Grandmother by denying visits. She had only been in there a few months
before it started to become 'prison-like'. It got to the point where her last 5 weeks at the home were restricted to 1 visitor, once a week! All because they said she got agitated after her family left and found it hard to deal with her behaviour! We couldn't even visit Christmas day. Turns out the agitation had nothing to do with family visiting, it was to do with the disease itself. No home should deny any family visits! It makes me so sad and angry to think of how my Gran and family were treated during her short time there.

Lovely small care home, the staff are friendly and caring towards my relative. The home is always clean and tidy. Like that pets are allowed in the home, as the residents do like them. Food always smells nice and they have a choice of meals. The only thing that concerns me is when I see the cook going
out for a cigarette break in her apron and hat, surely that isn't good practice for handing food, especially with vulnerable people.

After my nanna going downhill for a few years we made the tough choice to move her from North Wales to live closer to us so we were able to support her more easily and the staff at Stanton Manor could not have made the transition any easier or more pleasant... Nothing was too much trouble and they made
the whole family feel really welcome not just my nanna... over the few months my nanna lived with them they really managed to build her confidence and bring her smile back... we really enjoyed being able to spend her last few months laughing with her again! I can't thank them enough.

I can't thank the staff at Stanton Manor enough for the care they showed my mum over the past six months. She passed away recently and the love and care over Mum's last few days, and to us as a family, was exceptional. We, as a family, will always be grateful to them... Thank you.

My mum came to Stanton Manor, at short notice so we could move her from Wales to be nearer to us. Stanton Manor had been recommended to us by a GP practice nurse for its level of care and the dedication of its staff.
It's an old manor house which offers a homely space, home-cooked food, and lovely
gardens. If compared to the corporate purpose-built homes, you may think it is lacking....but it doesn't. What is not present in matching bedding and posh surroundings, is made up in the relationships that the staff build with each and every individual who lives there and their extended family. The humour and kindness is so appreciated. I can confirm from experience that records and systems are meticulously kept, the cleaning standards are high and the food is adapted to individual need. Sadly from November 2023, my mum's health declined and she died in January 2024. The staff worked closely with me to enable Mum to spend her last days with them... looking after us as well. So appreciated.

I would like to thank all the staff at Stanton Manor for looking after Mum so well over the four and a half years when it was her home. Also for the care and concern they showed to myself and my brother during all this time and especially at the end, which was quiet and peaceful. Nothing ever seemed
too much trouble and the communication over even minor details was excellent. Whenever we visited the smell was always of fresh baking, a true homely atmosphere. Relatives are always invited to the regular events with barbecues and refreshments, giving a real sense of normality for residents and visitors alike. It is hard not to feel guilt and sadness at having to 'hand over' the responsibility of care to others, but the manager and her staff make you realize that you can't do it all and they could provide the safety and care 24/7 which would be beyond most of us. They did the heavy work, leaving us to enjoy good times with Mum for as long as we could and for that we will always be grateful.

If you require a care home for your loved one, providing a high degree of professionalism, compassion, care, dignity and fun, then look no further than Stanton Manor. We will be forever grateful to the manager and all carers who cared for Mum. The home is spotless, Mums room was made to look very personal
with her photos, etc. We were made welcome from day one, and Mum soon settled in well, making friends and enjoying the sing songs and regular interactions with the staff. Mum always looked beautiful in her clothes and regularly had her hair done. We cannot praise the staff enough for going above and beyond. When Mums condition of Altzheimer's worsened, the staff tried various foods to tempt her, fortifying her meals and giving her timely interventions to encourage taking diet and fluids, but unfortunately, Mum required hospital admission, which was picked up on by the staff when Mum experienced a cardiac event. Mum was transferred to a nursing home, where she later passed away.
Grateful thanks all.

Mum moved into Stanton Manor in March 2011, she was suffering from severe dementia and Stanton Manor had been recommended to me as a specialist in dementia care. I could not have made a better decision. She had already been rejected from other homes because of her challenging behaviour, but Stanton
Manor welcomed her with open arms and told me they would provide a home for her until she died, no matter what. Over the next ten years, the wonderful staff were true to their word and could not have provided Mum with better care - their Outstanding rating from the CQC is absolutely deserved. Mum settled well and although her dementia continued to be challenging, her needs were always met with kindness and patience. The home always communicated with me promptly and clearly by phone and email and always made me and other visitors very welcome. At the end of Mum's life, Stanton Manor did everything they could to keep Mum comfortable so that when the end came, it was very peaceful.

My relative resided at Stanton Manor for over 5 years, she looked upon the staff as her 'family' and spoke of it as her 'home'.
Whenever we visited my relative was always treated as an individual, the care and support I witnessed was provided with dignity and respect. The staff always made us feel
welcome.
Following my relatives death the staff could have not been more supportive, even going the extra mile to ensure we, as a family were ok & took time to attend the funeral. My biggest compliment is that, if I should require residential care in the future, I hope I receive the same quality care as my late relative did at Stanton Manor. Thank-you to all staff and especially the Manager.

I only have good things to say about Stanton Manor, it's manager and her staff. My mother was a resident there until she died last week surrounded by her loved ones, which included the care home staff! I couldn't have asked for better care, kindness and love to help my mum through not just her final
difficult days but also the whole 18 months she had been a resident. The care shown was exemplary, but the staff are so compassionate that I felt that they wouldn't have given any better care to their own parent and the kindness shown to me and my family have made the whole sad experience so much easy to bear. As they know, I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.355)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.355) out of 10 for Stanton Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.555 for Stanton Manor is calculated as follows: ( (91 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.555

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stanton Manor is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
