Anchor's Victoria Court in Ilkeston provides residential and dementia care for up to 40 customers in homely and comfortable single en suite rooms. The home is located within its own grounds and overlooks Victoria Park.

Anchor operates the home on a not-for-profit basis. By reinvesting money made back into its properties and services, the group is able to continually raise standards and provide a high-quality service.

Anchor’s customers are provided with detailed care plans which are carefully created in conjunction with loved ones to ensure individual needs are met, even if they should change.

Dementia care is available at Victoria Court, where staff receive continuous training to ensure they can provide the best service possible for residents with dementia. A high level of service is provided by getting to know customers and building strong relationships between staff, customers and loved ones.

I have worked with the elderly in many roles, and I have managed two care homes, then moved upwards to management for the elderly at a Council. I have never, ever seen such a lovely care home, or witnessed such wonderful staff in all my years of being in this field of work (started at 18 years old,
and I am now 70 years old). Your staff and management team are exemplary, demonstrating dignity, kindness, patience and recognising individual needs and understanding. Excellence of the highest order.

My mother was a resident on a temporary basis from December 2021 - February 2022. After that, she became permanent until June 2022 when she passed away in hospital. Whilst in Victoria Court, Mum received exceptional care and was treated like a family member. The staff were always friendly and helpful.
Overall, we were very satisfied with Mum's care in Victoria Court.

My mother has been in the home for two- and three-quarter years. The home has good facilities, with nice rooms, having ensuites. In the last few weeks, my mother has needed extra support and the staff were excellent in sorting out extra help needed to get her through a difficult time.

After my nanna moved here, it was immediately her home. ( A home) I'm difficult to please, but cried walking round, with how fabulous and caring the staff were. Every staff member smiles and genuinely cares for our loved ones. She was healthy and very happy living in her home, with lots of laughter.
The staff in this care home are absolute angels, each and every one of them, Eternally grateful and most happy to recommend Victoria Care Home to anyone.

My friend is currently with you and I have to say that I have found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful. The cleanliness is of a high standard and I have found no unpleasant smells. All in all, if I ever need a care home, Victoria Court will be first on my list.

On the 20th of March 2022, my great aunt celebrated her 100th birthday. I was totally knocked out by what the staff did for her. We were given our own room, so that family could celebrate with her. As well as decorating the room, the staff had laid on tea, cakes and sandwiches for us. Nothing was too
much trouble. They had also decorated the dining room and were holding a party with the other residents later on that day. One of the staff, who doesn't work weekends, came in to look after us. It was clear that every single member of staff, had real genuine affection for my great aunt and it was emotional to see. My great aunt had been quite poorly in the run-up to her special day, but everyone at Victoria Court was determined that she was going to get that card from her majesty. Can't rate this care home enough!

If I had a relative who needed to go into residential care, I would tell them to get him or her to register or go and arrange a meeting to see the staff at Victoria Court. The staff are very welcoming, smartly dressed, polite and the place is clean. You are given a room and an en-suite bathroom and
toilet.

My mum came in for two weeks for some respite, she was very well looked after. The second week she came down with a chest infection but was soon dealt with and she was put on some antibiotics.
She did come home with lots of clothes that weren't here's that we had to return and her glasses were lost,
these were expensive varifocals so we were disappointed.

I have been coming and visiting my mother for the last 6 years and my uncle for the last three years. I have always been treated with respect by all the staff. They always treat my relatives with all the care in the world as if they longed to their families. They are all very friendly.

During a very difficult time, staff have adhered to all government recommendations to keep residents safe. I understand why activities are restricted and hope for more stimulation to help to keep my father mentally active, as things improve. Physically, his mobility is poor but he seems to get any help
he needs.

My 93-year-old grandmother was made homeless due to circumstances out of her control. I was advised to call the home to search for an available space. She was moved within 24 hours. My nan is always treated with dignity and respect by all the staff and I'm constantly kept in the loop. The staff make
you feel so welcome. I can't fault Victoria Court at all. Both my grandmothers are there and it's clear to see that both are happy, looked after, feel safe and all their needs are met. Thank you.

Made to feel very welcome from the start. Very pleasant staff who are always willing to help you or to listen. The care home is very clean and nothing is too much trouble for anyone. I would definitely recommend this home and I would certainly go back.

Our 95-year-old aunt has been a resident at Victoria Court for over 18 months. We have had previous experience of care homes in the area and we have been very impressed by the care and communication by the staff during this very difficult time, FaceTime calls were facilitated very quickly after lockdown
and our aunt has seemed very settled and comfortable right from the start. We've been extremely impressed overall. Well done!

My aunt has been in Victoria Court, Ilkeston, for four years and is very happy and well looked after. The staff are very friendly and caring and all seem to be local. My Mother has been at Victoria Court for over a year now. Although it has been a very challenging time due to Covid, my Mum has always been treated fairly with care and dignity.
The staff are very friendly and do their utmost to provide and cater to all my Mum's needs. Visits are conducted with care
and attention to detail, all PPE for visitors is provided and safety guidance is provided and adhered to. Communication between myself and the staff is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Overall, my Mum is receiving good care and is happy.

From what I saw I was more than happy to have my father stay at this home but once my father had passed I was very disappointed with the way his clothes and personal items were handed to me. Also, the cleanliness of his clothes plus some of his personal items were broken and covered in mould.
