Anchor's Victoria Court in Ilkeston provides residential and dementia care for up to 40 customers in homely and comfortable single en suite rooms. The home is located within its own grounds and overlooks Victoria Park.

Anchor operates the home on a not-for-profit basis. By reinvesting money made back into its properties and services, the group is able to continually raise standards and provide a high-quality service.

Anchor’s customers are provided with detailed care plans which are carefully created in conjunction with loved ones to ensure individual needs are met, even if they should change.

Dementia care is available at Victoria Court, where staff receive continuous training to ensure they can provide the best service possible for residents with dementia. A high level of service is provided by getting to know customers and building strong relationships between staff, customers and loved ones.

The genuine caring nature of the staff is excellent. The staff team complement each other well and the various services work together to make Victoria Court a friendly and safe environment to live. The link with the nurse practitioner is a strength and the administrator is very thorough and empathetic
when dealing with both residents and family.
My Dad had a happy stay in Victoria Court, the food was good and provided whenever he needed it. Until illness overtook him he was able to get out and about within the local area to the shops, park and cricket ground. It is a pleasant area to explore which added to his happiness staying there.

My mother was a resident at Victoria Court for 8 years. She was always happy here and considered it to be her home. The carers have always considered mums feelings, they also encourage her to engage in activities she enjoyed. The end of life care and support for mum and I was above and beyond. I have
no hesitation in recommending Victoria Court.

A table was requested in my room for drinks, breakfast etc. and never appeared during my stay. Slight pressure to go to bed early. Food and drinks good but not always hot. Privacy was good in communal areas for when family visited.

I went into the care home for 3 weeks care and found it very good. The meals were very good and plenty of it. The place was very clean and tidy. The staff were both very clean and pleasant, also helpful in every way. They did their best to help us pass the time on with singing and entertainment, walks
round the park in wheelchairs. I went in to give my daughter a chance for a holiday, she is my carer and is excellent. I will certainly go in again. I have been back and had dinner with them and have been invited again. My room was quite large and excellent, clean.

Dad was cared for 2 and a half years by staff at Victoria Court. He was happy and settled and well cared for by all the staff. Dad had vascular dementia and sometimes he could be very trying but the care staff always had lots of patience with him and coped well with his situation.

I would like to voice my appreciation for the excellent support and care provided by all the staff. In choosing Victoria Court as a preferred placement I knew from the outset that this was a caring environment as I felt the warmth when entering the door for the first time.
I particularly want to express
my thanks for the manner Victoria Court enabled my partner to reside in the home despite his end of life situation and his previous assessment to be transferred to a nursing home. Staff were sensitive to needs as carer after bereavement.

On the whole, the care in Victoria Court is good, the staff are caring and attentive. Activities always organised and residents enabled to take part. The district nurse or other medical help is always contacted when required.
Please, can we see a chiropodist regularly I can't remember when we last
saw one!

I don't need to access much care/support.
Victoria Court feels a safe and homely place and the company of other residents is appreciated.
I don't feel isolated. Friendly attention is usually available from staff.
Quality of food provided is variable and can be bland, either under or overcooked at
times. I am aware that all tastes can't be catered for all the time.

My mother lived at Victoria Court for two years, regarding it as her home. She enjoyed the company of the staff, who she felt were her friends, At the end of her life, the home could not have done better in handling a difficult situation and was able to stay in her room with the medical attention and
companionship she needed, right to the end. We would like to thank all who were involved.

My dad (87) got very ill with a UTI, went to visit next day and he went into respite the following day after a hurriedly arranged meeting. My Dad was in a state when he arrived. Dirty clothes, unwashed, very sleepy. The next day he was clean and smart, haircut, toenails done and most importantly a smile.
Very supportive to the family and Dad.
