Watford House provides residential and respite care and support for the elderly. Specialising in the care of people living with any type of Dementia, challenging behaviour and those with sensory or physical impairments they really can meet the needs of everyone.

There are 36 single rooms of which 24 have en-suite facilities. There are vast outdoor areas to enjoy and communal spaces to spend time with likeminded people.

All of the staff are highly trained in every aspect of person-centred care and all care provided is planned with the individual and their families to create a tailor-made package of care to suit every need.

Very happy with Nana's care. She seems very happy here. I am very impressed with all the staff and how they make this home warm and welcoming. Best Covid-19 precautions I have seen in a care home.

I always find the staff helpful and willing to assist. My mother seems happy in her self but as is to be expected if I try to converse with her she is not very responsive.

We have been pleased with overall care and the staff are really caring and have a great deal of empathy towards residents. The only issue is that clothing gets lost and mixed up and other personal items too. We understand that this happens in many other care homes too. We are very happy with the standard
of care given.

A very clean and well-managed care home. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. My mum seems very happy here without any degree of complaint.

We come to visit every week and Dad always looks lovely, clean and well presented. His room is always clean and tidy, staff are always friendly and welcoming. We have no problems booking in to see Dad and can take him out when we want to. Dad always talks about everyone and seems to enjoy taking part
in the activities.

During my working life, I have had cause to visit many nursing homes. Some I wouldn't recommend and have given me cause for concern. As soon as you enter Watford House, you can feel the staff are dedicated to their profession. Love and care are in abundance, making the residents feeling loved.

Very good care home with excellent staff. Would like to have access to a room when visiting my wife instead of her bedroom. The secure garden area is good, but the plants and flower areas are rather tired! Overall, a happy care home.

I believe that you can judge the quality of the management of an establishment or organisation by the behaviour of its staff. Having spent many hours sitting with my sister in the lounges, it is clear that there is a healthy and pleasant interface between all members of staff, and this extends to their
relationship with the residents. This gives me great comfort in placing my sister's care in their hands. It also appears to extend to their attitude towards relatives, which makes visiting a pleasure.

My father became a resident in July last year, the staff have been fantastic and done their utmost to enable visits and keep him safe during this difficult time. We can now visit in a special room with a glass divider and can also keep in touch by video call. The staff are so friendly and I cannot praise
them enough for the amazing job they do.

Dad went into Watford House last March at the beginning of lockdown. The care he has received has been excellent. Circumstances have been difficult due to visiting restrictions, but the staff have been amazing, going above and beyond what they have to do. Encouraging contact as much as possible, via
phone, window visits, facetime etc. They now have a visitors' room which is very safe and I can now visit as often as I want to. Dad looks and is happy and well cared for. I would recommend Watford House. The rural location is lovely.

Due to Covid, we were unable to go into the home, other than the visiting room. Visiting arrangements were brilliant. Staff appeared to be caring and helpful. Phone calls always answered promptly and concerns I might have were explained. 'Uncle' is very happy with his care, staff, accommodation and

My wife was admitted to Watford House in January 2020 suffering from Alzheimer's and having spent the previous three weeks in hospital with influenza. She was not in good health. The family had previously reviewed the accommodation and facilities at Watford House some 12 months earlier in view of her
worsening condition at the time and made provisional arrangements for her to be accepted when her condition made full-time care necessary. Our decision to place her in Watford House proved to be fully justified. The care she received and attention is given by the manager and staff was beyond reproach. She was only with them a month and passed away peacefully in February 2020.

My mum lives very happily at Watford House, has been in their care for 3 and 1/2years.
I would recommend the home to anyone looking for a place to place their loved ones. My sister and I looked at 15 care homes in the surrounding areas and found that Watford House was the most suitable place for Mum.

Hi, I am Carinna, the CQC Registered Manager at Watford House. I have worked here since 2014 starting my career as a care assistant. I became a Senior Carer and then a Team leader and gained the qualifications to progress further.


In July 2018, I completed my Level 5 Leadership and Management NVQ in Health and Social Care and became the manager of Watford House. One of my proudest moments was being registered by the CQC!


Many of the staff who I started my training with are still here today, which makes for a really good, supportive team who know how one another work, and know the home inside out. Lots of the residents have lived here happily for longer than I have worked here which is a true testament to the care and dedication they receive from every staff member in every department, every day.


I truly could not imagine working anywhere but Watford House.

Hi, I'm Val. I have worked at Watford House for almost 30 years! I have been in every department at one time or another and consider Watford House my second home.
I have been a Senior Care Assistant for a very long time and became Team Leader in 2018. I support all staff to fulfil their duties to the best of their abilities and have a wealth of knowledge of the home.
