Located in a quiet village on the outskirts of Chesterfield, Brimington Care Home is purpose-built to provide residential dementia care, palliative care, respite care and intermediate care as an alternative to hospital. The home has 45 rooms and is close to public transport links and the Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Each day, staff aim to enhance the lives of residents through the activities programme, trips out and regular social events including carols, school visits and art activities.

The manager and staff at Brimington Care Home have been providing excellent care for my mum for the last two years. The home has a very welcoming and warm atmosphere with nothing being too much trouble for the staff. As a very grateful daughter, I would highly recommend this home. Thank you to everyone.

The care home is warm and welcoming. Staff have been supportive and understanding to mum and her family during the period of transition from home to care home.
The home is always clean and warm and has a really cheerful atmosphere. Meals are cooked onsite with a varied menu. There is always something
to entertain, singing, bingo, and an activity organiser. A hairdresser visits weekly.
Moving mum into a care home has been difficult for the family but we don't feel we could have found a more suitable environment.
Can't thank the staff enough.

Although my mum has only been in this care home for a few days, I felt compelled to write a review, as from the first time my sister and I popped our heads into the care home, unannounced, to now, I have absolutely nothing but praise for the home, the manager, and all her staff. They make this home
into a very caring home, where nothing is too much trouble and they bend over backwards to make sure Mum is happy. I feel very relieved to have been fortunate enough for Mum to come here, now her dementia has got more challenging and I feel like we have welcomed a whole new family into our lives, when they welcomed Mum into their home. It is clean, comfortable, genuinely caring, great food according to Mum and loads of activities and lots of staff. Keep up the good work. You are ace.

The manager is supportive and empathetic. She identified an ideal room for mum, it was decorated to suit her and we were able to personalise it. The cost of £1000 a week is expensive, although it could accommodate two people (self-funded). All the staff seem to work together well and they are very friendly
and approachable. They listen and respond to any queries I may have. Staff interactions with mum seem genuine and very caring. She is happy to see them and is comfortable receiving personal care. Mum choses to stay in her room and the activities coordinator spends time with her.

When Mum's Alzheimer's/Dementia which became rapidly worse, I found that carers weren't enough to keep her safe. I visited a couple of homes but couldn't envisage Mum in any of them as she's still relatively young (77 years) until I got to see the manager at Brimington Care Home. I was in awe of the
place, it seemed so lively, felt full of love and I could see straight away that the staff really cared. Both the manager and deputy manager came to Sheffield to assess Mum in her home and Mum agreed to give the home a go. A week later she was in and from the first hour there, I could see she felt at home. The staff are all wonderful, there is a real family atmosphere to the place and when I visit, everyone makes me feel at home too. Mum never asks to go back to her home, she is unable to express much in words but I can tell she is happy. Since May 2021 Mum now has company and friends and I no longer have the stress about Mum's welfare.

This care home is full of the nicest, most caring people you could wish to meet. The staff are amazing and go above and beyond to help to make the residents feel happy and cared for.
I would highly recommend this lovely care home to anyone considering the very difficult process of placing a loved

When my Mum’s dementia deteriorated to the stage where she was no longer safe at home we had to look for somewhere where we felt comfortable to place her. From the first visit, the lady who showed us around made me feel that this was the right place, and we never looked back. Any concerns and these
were very few, were dealt with straight away and we always felt that mum was safe and cared for. My mum lived in Brimington Care Centre for just over 4 years and sadly passed away on Christmas Day. I never once regretted choosing this home. Mum was looked after with love, dignity and respect, and all her needs met to the best of their ability. The staff team are friendly, professional, caring and well-led and it was always a pleasure to visit. On the day mum died we were so well looked after, nothing was too much trouble. Brimington Care Centre is not just a care home, it is a family through and through and I would highly recommend it, especially for people with dementia.

Postive and detailed informatory on Facebook regarding covid-19 visits arrangements. On the day, greeted in a friendly and professional manner and guided through the visit to see Mum. Mum was in good humour and got on very well with the carer dedicated to my visits. A good visit, I loved it!

My Mum went into this care home in February 2020, initially for three weeks respite. I had been my Mum's main carer for the past 6 years and found it very difficult to place Mum in full-time care. I work in a specialist palliative care unit and my standards are very high. As soon as I entered this home
I felt the love. I knew instantly this was the place for Mum to spend the rest of her time left. This home excels. The care, love, respect, and dignity for Mum is 100%. During the lockdown, they have all gone above and beyond to care for my Mum and keep her safe, even admin staff.

Mum came into Brimington Care Home from the hospital after being treated for fractured vertebrae in her back. She was struggling to move and walk the day she arrived. By the end of the three weeks respite, she was almost back to her normal self, walking alone and toileting independently. This is all
thanks to the kind, attentive staff at Brimington Care Home. It has a friendly, clean, bright atmosphere resembling a homely home rather than a care home. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and I want to thank them all for giving mum the confidence to be herself. Mum enjoyed her time here but is happy to be back home.

My dad was resident at Brimington for almost 3 years and I have always been happy with the home, the care and the staff. Staff are caring and committed to their roles, showing interest and concern for all the residents under their care.
Their professionalism and caring approach, was all the more apparent
when my dad recently passed away. I could not have wished for better support, both for my dad and myself, they advised me, supported me and held me together through some heart-aching times - I didn't feel supported by "staff" but by friends.
It saddened me that my dad had so little family to attend his funeral but on the day, seeing so many of the carers present, I realised they had become part of his family too and they had paid the greatest tribute possible to him by being there and caring. Thank you.

Cosy bedrooms. On first arrival at the home, the staff were extremely efficient and made things personal for our mum and took care in labelling clothes and welcoming us and mum. The staff always make us welcome and spend lots of time with the residents. Previously in 2014, we have had another family
member here and felt comfortable visiting so this was an obvious choice.

Chloe Hutchinson joined Brimington Care Home as the Wellbeing Coordinator in July 2020. Marija Prince

Marija Prince joined Brimington Care Home in July 2023, taking on the unique dual roles of Chef and Senior Care Assistant. Her passion for both caregiving and cooking makes her a valuable and versatile member of the team.


As a Chef, Marija loves preparing delicious meals for the residents, putting immense effort into creating menus that are both nutritious and exciting. She especially enjoys baking birthday cakes, making sure each resident feels celebrated and special on their big day. Her creativity in the kitchen brings a fresh and delightful variety to the dining experience.

Terri Booker

Terri Booker has been a dedicated Senior Care Assistant at Brimington Care Home since August 2016. In her role, Terri is responsible for managing the medication side of the home, overseeing the day-to-day operations, and supporting the team to ensure everything runs smoothly.
