Located in a quiet village on the outskirts of Chesterfield, Brimington Care Home is purpose-built to provide residential dementia care, palliative care, respite care and intermediate care as an alternative to hospital. The home has 45 rooms and is close to public transport links and the Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

Each day, staff aim to enhance the lives of residents through the activities programme, trips out and regular social events including carols, school visits and art activities.

Brimington is a modern home featuring bright and airy spaces while providing residents with an accessible and safe outdoor area where they can enjoy the sunshine and engage in gardening activities.

My mum moved into the home just before Christmas 2018.
The time she has been there, she has settled in extremely well.
The staff are very friendly and reassuring to my mum.
My mum seems to have come out of her shell and is talking and smiling once again.
It was a difficult decision for our family
to make but we think how mum is now, it was the right decision.
She now has a quality of life and not just an existence.

We have been very pleased with the standard of care given to Mum. She always looks clean and tidy, as does her room. Mum appears mostly happy and interacts well with staff, who always appear very caring. The home has a very homely atmosphere and is welcoming to visitors. Well done.

We knew before my mum went into care that this was a good care home. My daughter used to work here before going into full-time nursing. The care and attention the staff give to the person in care is brilliant.
A lot of the staff we know personally from when our daughter worked there. If any problems
occur, the staff approach the relatives and discuss them. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

Having viewed several care homes in the area, Brimington Care Home is way above the average. Upon arrival, the greeting was by far the best, we knew it was the one for mum.
All the staff are very caring and attentive.
My mum's room is really comfortable, however, one minor point, it is not ensuite.

I have always found Brimington Care Home welcoming and friendly from the day I was looking around for my other to live there. (Hence the reason we admitted Mum).
The staff are always pleasant and the manager is doing a great job, always there to listen to you if you have a worry.
Activities are great
too, such a variety of things to help the residents to keep occupied.

Mum and Dad came to this home in 2016. Dad passed away in January 2018. I could not be more happy with the care they receive. It is first class. When I am away, I don't have to worry. When I visit I feel welcome. If anybody wants to contact me, do not hesitate.

My father moved to Brimington Care Home in March 2018. All the staff have made him and all the family feel at home and he settled very quickly. They always notify me if they have any concerns regarding his health and do not hesitate to contact the doctors when required. All visitors are made welcome
and the home is always vibrant. The care staff are always in the day rooms talking and interacting with residents. They treat them all with dignity and respect. They are always eager to learn more about the personal life, their likes and dislikes so they can provide person-centred care. The management team and all the staff are very helpful and approachable.

After losing my Father I was at my wit's end. The only person I could think of contact was the manager. The help and advice I was given was fantastic and helped me in every way possible. Helping my Mum to this fab home and settled her in and the care she receives is second to none.

Friendly, caring staff.
Dad was very unsettled when he first arrived but the staff were very good in making him feel settled.
The home itself is clean. Activities are arranged and dad seems to be eating well which he wasn't when he was at home.

As a family, the decision to place Mum in residential care was one of the most difficult decisions we have had to make, but from the moment my brother and I stepped through the door we knew this was the right place for her. Each member of staff greeted us with a warm welcome. It is such a friendly,
welcoming place and all staff and management are fantastic. They sensitively relate to mums needs with respect and are skilled at maximising her independence. All staff and management show genuine care and concern for all of the residents. They are always approachable and nothing ever appears to be too much trouble for them. The daily activities are great as are the trips out on the minibus. Mum looks well, is happy and I know that she is in safe hands, being cared for in such an amazing, supportive and stimulating environment.

Following an illness, Mum was admitted in a severe state of delirium, which later was diagnosed as dementia.
She was treated with dignity and respect at all times and has settled very well.
When we first looked at this care home, we were very impressed by the cleanliness and the friendliness of the
staff.
We chose this care home for the staff, we loved that several generations of related staff worked here.
The standards of cleanliness continue.
There is never any unpleasant smell - it smells clean.
Mum enjoys the food, looks forward to her meals.
There is always staff in attendance and they are all very diligent and caring.

I could not be more impressed with the service provided by this care home so far. Looked at several and this was the only one who showed a genuine interest in my aunty, wanting to understand her condition and her likes/dislikes. Yes, it's not brand new and sparkly but it has a warmth we didn't find
anywhere else. My aunty is settled, was making friends with other residents in the lounge yesterday evening and seems settled already. Thank you to all the lovely staff we've encountered so far, from the lovely lady who showed us round to the manager for assessing her so quickly and to the guy who lovingly unpacked and put away all of her things last night - you have made a difficult time so much easier xx

Doesn't matter when I go could be different days or different times, the staff and care workers are always the same. Nothing is too much trouble for them or how the patients are treated. We were relieved when Mom went into Brimington Care Home as it's only down the road from where she lived. She's still able to recognise the area when she goes out, which must be a comfort to her as she still remembers things. She's been resident there for almost a year now and seems largely settled.
She's treated with great respect and is able to maintain her dignity. Despite showing some challenging behaviour at times, she is skillfully dealt with by the staff and always returns to her cheerful self with their careful handling. They do a great job overall.


It takes a certain kind of person to care for people with such sensitive needs and there are lots of lovely people at Brimington Care Home. There is always a cup of tea offered to visitors, and the meals that come out of the kitchen look beautiful, freshly-cooked and wholesome. The activities co-ordinator is always looking for new things to stimulate the residents and she is lovely with them. Various singers and artists visit the home regularly. Great job.

Marija Prince

Marija Prince joined Brimington Care Home in July 2023, taking on the unique dual roles of Chef and Senior Care Assistant. Her passion for both caregiving and cooking makes her a valuable and versatile member of the team.


As a Chef, Marija loves preparing delicious meals for the residents, putting immense effort into creating menus that are both nutritious and exciting.
